Red Hot Chili Peppers Frontman Saves Baby's Life(Radio.com)

Add "life saver" to Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis' resume. While shooting 'Carpool Karaoke' for The Late Late Show, the band experienced a life threatening situation that didn't make its way on air. During a pause in between takes, a mother began screaming that her child couldn't breathe. Without hesitating, Anthony Kiedis rushed over to help.
Speaking with a UK radio station, Kiedis was totally chill about the frightening event. "We danced off, we tied, and then we were going to celebrate with some Mexican food on the corner," he said. "And a woman came out of her house, holding a child, saying, 'My baby, my baby, my baby can't breathe!' We all ran across the street, the lady thrust her baby into my arms, the baby was not breathing, and I thought, 'I'm gonna try and do a little baby CPR real quick, see if I can get some air in this kid.'"

Kiedis said he couldn't open the baby's mouth in order to perform true CPR. "So I started rubbing the belly, bubbles came out of the mouth, the eyes rolled back into place, the ambulance showed up," he said. "I handed the baby over, who was now breathing and fine, and we went back to 'Carpool Karaoke.' It was kind of a beautiful thing that we stopped for the dance-off. Meat Loaf Collapses On Stage(Classic Rock)


Meat Loaf was rushed to hospital on Thursday night (June 16) after collapsing on stage during a show. He was performing classic track I Would Do Anything For Love at the Jubliee Auditorium in Edmonton, Canada, when he slowly leaned down then fell over on his back.
Video shows the audience responding as if it's part of the act until roadies appear on stage a few seconds later and crowd round the veteran performer, 68. Witnesses say that fans were then told to leave, while Meat Loaf was taken to a nearby medical centre about 20 minutes after the incident began.

One attendee told the Edmonton Journal: "It looked at first like he was just being theatrical and lying down. Next thing we knew, security were telling us to clear the venue."

She said that his voice had sounded strained before his collapse, adding that he seemed "a little bit tired and at times it was hard to hear him." Read more and watch the video here.




Deep Purple's Ian Paice Suffers A Mini-Stroke(hennemusic)

Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice has revealed that a "mini-stroke" he experienced was responsible for the band's concert cancellations in Sweden and Denmark this week.
The band cancelled scheduled performances at Gröna Lund in Stockholm on June 14, Liseberg in Gothenburg on June 15 and The Prison - Open Air at Horsens, Denmark on June 17.

While the venues announced the shows were off due to "health issues", Deep Purple had not issued a public statement until Paice posted a message on the group's website offering an explanation in an effort to inform fans and reduce speculation over the situation.

"To all the people who were expecting to see Deep Purple in Sweden and Denmark this week, I would like to let you know the reason the shows were not possible, and also to stop all the speculation and rumors," began Paice. "On the morning of the 14th of June, I woke up to find that the right side of my body was feeling numb and I could not control my right hand and fingers. So I had myself admitted to hospital where I was diagnosed with having suffered a 'mini stroke', or TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack)."

"The hospital staff in Stockholm were amazing and started my treatment straight away," he continued. "After both CT and MIR scans there was found to be no serious or permanent damage. As of this moment all I am suffering is a slightly numb right side of the face a tingling sensation in my right hand." Read more here.



Guns N' Roses Reveal Support Acts For Reunion Tour(hennemusic)


Guns N' Roses have added four more artists to the list of opening acts that will join them on their summer stadium tour of North America. The trek will see the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan.
Rising country star Chris Stapleton will joins GNR in Nashville, TN on June 9; local boys Billy Talent will open in Toronto, ON on July 16; The Cult will appear on four dates in late July/early August in Atlanta, Orlando, New Orleans and Arlington, TX, while Skrillex will perform in Houston on August 5.

Previously announced acts on the summer trek include Alice In Chains, who will open the first five dates of the Not In This Lifetime tour, while Lenny Kravitz is on board for two pairs of shows in Foxborough, MA and East Rutherford, NJ in mid-July.

Status Quo's Rick Parfitt Has Suspected Heart Attack(Classic Rock)

Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt is being treated in a Turkish hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack. He fell ill following the band's performance in the country after performing at the Antalya Expo Wednesday night (June 15).
His condition is described as serious, although a press release states that Parfitt has "already demanded his customary cup of tea with two sugars and a sweetener."

Quo manager Simon Porter adds: "No further comment will be made at this stage until the completion of the next round of tests and assessments to be made over the next few days. We would ask you to respect the family's privacy at this difficult time." Read more here.




Joey Jordison Had To Be Carried Onstage At His Final Slipknot Shows(TeamRock Radio)

Joey Jordison has given more details on the illness that led to his departure from Slipknot. Earlier this week, the drummer gave an emotional speech after being honored at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards, where he revealed he was left unable to play drums in the months leading up to his departure from Slipknot because of transverse myelitis - a rare disease of the nervous system.
After the ceremony in London, Metal Hammer spoke with Jordison, who gave further details on his condition - and he says he was so ill at one point, he had to be carried to the stage to play live.

He says: "It was at the end of the memorial shows we did for Paul Gray. We were in Canada, at the end of my last run of shows with Slipknot, and something happened to me but I didn't know what it was. I was super ill.

"You can be sick and still play, but this was something I'd never felt in my life before. We found out what I have is transverse myelitis - a neurological condition that hits your spinal cord, and it wiped my legs out completely. It's like having your legs cut off, basically.

"I played those last couple of shows and it scared the living sh*t out of me. I didn't know what it was." Read more here.




Heart Stream New Song Featuring Metallica's James Hetfield(hennemusic)

Heart team up with James Hetfield of Metallica on "Beautiful Broken", the lead single and title track to their upcoming album. Heart are premiering the song with the release of a lyric video for the track.
The Metallica frontman helped the Seattle rockers revamp the tune, which first appeared as a bonus track on their 2012 release, "Fanatic." "It blows the previous version out of the water," says guitarist Nancy Wilson. "James just took the song on, and what he added was perfect with a bite and a rock accent."

Due July 8, "Beautiful Broken" the album sees the Wilson sisters delivering three new songs alongside updated versions of some of their favorite tracks from the past. Stream the song here.




Megadeth Going To Make Drummer Decision Soon Says Mustaine(Classic Rock)

Dave Mustaine says he will make a decision about Megadeth's drummer situation "real soon." The band currently have Soilwork's Dirk Verbeuren out on the road with them as Chris Adler has returned to work with Lamb Of God. Adler was recruited by Mustaine to work on Megadeth's latest album Dystopia and has toured with the band until recently.
But with Adler committed to Lamb Of God and not set to return to Megadeth until June 28, Mustaine says he has to decide how he wants to handle the situation going forward.

He tells Kerrang: "We're still trying to figure out what we're gonna do with our drum position. It's great having Dirk here. He's been really wonderful to play with also. So there's not a shortage of great players out there, and we're gonna make our decision real soon." Read more here.




Led Zeppelin Trail: Jimmy Page Says Stairway Chord Sequence Not Unique(Classic Rock)

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has argued that the chord sequence at the heart of the Stairway To Heaven trial "has been around for ever." He was testifying during the third day of legal proceedings in a Los Angeles court, after the representatives of late Spirit guitarist Randy California claimed Led Zeppelin had taken the introduction to 1971's Stairway from California's 1968 release Taurus.
During his second day at the witness stand, Page was asked about having said that the structure was more similar to Chim Chim Cher-ee from 1964 musical film Mary Poppins than it was to Taurus.

He told plaintiff lawyer Francis Malofiy: "No, I didn't say that. I may have said the chord sequences are very similar - because that chord sequence has been around for ever."

Judge Gary Klausner wouldn't allow Page's analysis of the song to be taken as expert testimony since he hadn't been called in that capacity. Read more here.




Crucified Barbara Announce They Have Broken Up(Classic Rock)

Crucified Barbara have announced they've broken up. The Swedish outfit formed in 1998 and issued four albums, their last being 2014's In The Red. But they report that they've decided to call it a day, and have thanked fans for their support over the years.
Mia Coldheart, Klara Force, Ida Evileye and Nicki Wicked say in a statement: "Today we are sad to say that a long journey has come to an end. Crucified Barbara were our dream and you all made it come true.

"The times we've had together as a band and shared on and off stage with you guys leaves memories that no time can kill. Our lives have parted and we need to move on. The last years have taken its toll on all of us and the joy of playing together got lost somewhere along the way." Read more here.




Michael Schenker Slams The Scorpions(Classic Rock)

Michael Schenker has launched yet another tirade at his brother Rudolf - saying that the Scorpions haven't done anything worth talking about in 23 years.
Earlier this year, Michael said he couldn't trust his brother and last month expanded on that by saying Rudolf had taken advantage of him and took credit for his work.

Now Michael has taken a further swipe at his former band, telling Eddie Trunk Live (via Blabbermouth): "For the last 23 years, they haven't done anything that is worth talking about. All they have done is they've been milking the past. There's nothing else they have done. And maybe people are afraid talking about it. But the fact is they are fooling the people."

He adds: "Rudolf's a wannabe and a trick master. I am not going to talk to anybody about this. Rudolf knows exactly what he did wrong, and only Rudolf himself can fix it for himself." Read more here.




In This Moment Guitarist's Arthritis Led To Opiate Addiction(TeamRock Radio)

In This Moment guitarist Chris Howorth has revealed how his battle to control the pain of undiagnosed arthritis led to a six-year addiction to opiates.
Doctors recently told him he was suffering from the disorder in his neck and shoulders. This week he reported he'd been undergoing treatment for four weeks and he'd carry on working with Maria Brink's band.

But he'd been fighting increasing pain for eight years, which resulted in an addiction that he only managed to defeat in 2014. Howorth tells KBAT 99.9: "I went through a period on tour where I started to dabble with opiates just because of the pain in my neck. I'd take one to help me with the pain after the show - and as everyone knows, one turns into two.

"I started taking them before the show because it would make me have a better show. That went on for about three years. I think I did a lot of over-reaching and overdoing it. I was masking what was going on."

Despite resolving his addiction two years ago, Howorth only sought medical attention after his condition forced In This Moment to cancel a European tour in April. Read more here.



Crown The Empire Release 'Zero' Video(TeamRock Radio)


Crown The Empire have released a video for their track, Zero. It features on the US outfit's upcoming album Retrograde, which is set to launch on July 22 via Rise Records.
Frontman Andy Leo says of the track: "We wrote this song specifically for our longtime fans. We feel that the song's explosive energy coupled with the psychedelic production and video really puts our best foot forward to give the listener an idea of what they can expect to hear from the album overall."

Foghat Streaming New Song 'Knock If Off'(Classic Rock)

Foghat are streaming Knock If Off from new album Under The Influence. The album is the follow-up to 2010's Last Train Home, and sees the band working with several other musicians.
Alongside current Foghat members Roger Earl, Craig MacGregor, Charlie Huhn and Bryan Bassett, guitarist Scott Holt - a member of Buddy Guy's band - lends a hand as well as Grammy winning producer/songwriter Tom Hambridge, sinmger Dana Fuchs, and Savoy Brown founder and guitarist Kim Simmonds. Original Foghat bassist Nick Jameson appears on a new version of the classic Slow Ride.

"The recording of Knock It Off took a different path than most of the other songs on the record," says guitarist Bryan Bassett. "Most of the songs on the album were recorded live with minimal overdubs, generally just the addition of some lead guitar and vocals. This song was developed over the course of 4 or 5 sessions. We recorded the basic track with just Charlie [Huhn] and I on guitar and Roger (Earl) on the drums, all in the same room with me sitting at the recording console in our Florida studio, Boogie Motel South.

"We recorded Craig's [MacGregor] bass as an overdub in another session and then Charlie and I set about editing the track to get the song structure the way we wanted it. I recorded my lead guitar tracks at my home studio and that completed the music bed. The lyrics came last when we had a group song/lyric writing session with our producer Tom Hambridge. We then recorded a great vocal from Charlie and the song was completed and ready for mixing." Stream the song here.




Gone Is Gone Release 'Stolen From Me' Video(TeamRock Radio)

Gone Is Gone have released a video for their track Stolen From Me. It's taken from the group's upcoming self-titled debut EP, due for release on July 8 via Black Dune Records.
The band features Mastodon singer and bassist Troy Sanders, At The Drive-In drummer Tony Hajjar, Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and guitarist and keyboardist Mike Zarin.

They have previously unveiled videos for Violescent and Starlight. Sanders tells Billboard: "With the eight tracks that are coming out on this record in July, I think it really touches on everything that's to come, because since the recording of these first eight songs, we've recorded and written many, many, many other tracks, and I think it's very promising to the four of use because we realize how very far we've grown in just a short amount of time." 6-Year-Old With Cancer Meets His Iron Maiden Hero(Classic Rock)

A six-year-old boy with cancer had the time of his life when he met his hero Bruce Dickinson at Download festival. Rossi Starbrook - who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) when he was just four - is a heavy metal fan thanks to his rock-loving parents Leanne and Richard.
And when the Nottinghamshire youngster heard that his favourite band were headlining Download 2016, he set about recording himself singing the band's classic Aces High and posting it on YouTube.

The video went viral and led to Download chief Andy Copping getting in touch with the Starbrook family. Before little Rossi knew it, he was meeting the Maiden frontman - who had his own battle with cancer - backstage at Donington.

And he watched the band's set while dressed up as a mini version of Maiden's mascot Eddie. Leanne, 45, tells TeamRock: "A guy who used to work security for Maiden saw Rossi's video and it turned out he also knew Andy Copping. So we were put in touch and Andy was just amazing." Read more here.




Killswitch Engage In Axe-Throwing Battle(TeamRock Radio)


Killswitch Engage duo Jesse Leach and Joel Stroetzel have appeared in the latest episode of mini-series Axe-Throwing Battle. In the PureGrainAudio short, the singer and guitarist face off against each other in a competition to see who can get closest to a wooden bullseye, while their bandmates look on.
Last week, Killswitch guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz revealed that he and Leach's Times Of Grace project would put out the follow-up to 2011's The Hymn Of A Broken Man.

He told TeamRock: "We're going to do another record. I have written five songs and I'm hoping after we get home from tour, I'll start demoing some more material.

Moreland & Arbuckle Release Take Me With You Video(The Blues)


Moreland & Arbuckle have released a video for their track Take Me With You (When You Go). It's taken from their first album with Alligator Records, Promised Land Or Bust, which was launched last month.
Guitarist Aaron Moreland has described the work as "consciously traditional" but also says it features "the signature drive and power that we've crafted over the past 13 years."

Glass Hammer Reveal Rearranged Lineup Ahead Valkyrie Release(Prog)

Glass Hammer will release 16th studio album Valkyrie in the autumn, they've confirmed. And they've told Prog that vocalist Susie Bogdanowicz has moved up to front the band, with support from mainmen Fred Schendel and Steve Babb.
She replaces Jon Davison, whose role has diminished since joining Yes in 2012. The follow-up to last year's The Breaking Of The World is describe as a full-blown concept album in the tradition of 2002's Lex Rex and 2005's The Inconsolable Secret. In a video trailer, Glass Hammer tease the line: "The battle was only the beginning. This war was going to last… for ever."

Babb tells Prog: "Our fans have been begging for Susie to have a bigger role in our music for years. We're happy that she'll be fronting the band, with Fred and I in supporting roles.

"So the role of vocalist in Glass Hammer stays within the original core group. Of course, Kamran Alan Shikoh and Aaron Raulston remain solid members." Read more here.




Singled Out: The Dead Daisies' Long Way To Go

Rock supergroup The Dead Daisies released their brand new "Long Way To Go" video today and to celebrate we asked David Lowy and John Corabi to tell us about the song. The track comes from their new album "Make Some Noise" (out Aug 5th). Here are the stories:
David Lowy: I was going through my pre-gig routine on my guitar before a show about 12 months ago and this riff just came to me that reminded me of my really good friend Doc Neeson, the front man for the Australian band The Angels, who passed away about one year earlier. I grew up in Australia and The Angels had a really huge influence on me and I was fortunate enough to write, record and perform with Doc in a band called Red Phoenix.

What's really interesting about the riff is the first two bars are 4/4 and the third bar is 2/4 which gives it a really interesting feel. I played the riff to my band mates and they dug it and so did Marti Frederiksen, the producer who worked with us on our forthcoming album Make Some Noise. The band collectively sat down and worked out a song around the riff which has special significance to me and the relationship I had with Doc and also the influence that Rick and John Brewster, the two guitarists from The Angels had on me.

We completed the verse, chorus and melody before we had any lyrics. Then John Corabi and I were talking about the song and what it means to me and I just said to him "It's like all things in life, you've got a long way to go and no time to get there" and when John heard this, he took it and ran with it. John writes about things that are really relevant to the world today, if you listen to our track "With You And I" from our album "Revolución" it's about the turmoil in the world and so is "Long Way To Go", it's a very meaningful track to us as the music is an ode to my friend Doc Neeson and the lyrics that John came up with are very poignant with what's going on in the world today.

John Corabi: Well, David Lowy actually came up with the title "Long Way To Go (and no time to get there)", and I think he was basically jokingly referring to our schedule of getting "Make Some Noise" finished in the allotted amount of time. I thought it was a great title, and when I sat down with Marti (Frederiksen), we just came up with a concept lyrically about the things we see in the news everyday. The "race" issues here in America, all of the things that are going on with Terrorism, and just the political landscape all over the world... So, if you listen to the lyrics it describes all of this, then says..."We've got a LONG WAY TO GO...and NO TIME to get there!!!" In other words, straighten our act together FAST!!!!!

Black Sabbath Announce Their Very Last Concert(hennemusic)


Black Sabbath will perform a pair of final farewell shows in their hometown of Birmingham in early 2017. Following recent rumors, the band have announced dates for a UK/Ireland run in the New Year that will bring an end to their live career after almost five decades.
An 8-show trek will start January 20 in Dublin and finish with two shows in Birmingham on February 2 and 4. "It started nearly five decades ago with a crack of thunder, a distant bell ringing and then that monstrous riff that shook the earth. The heaviest rock sound ever heard," says the group. "In that moment, heavy metal was born, created by a young band from Birmingham, England, barely out of their teens.

"Now it ends - the final eight shows ever by the greatest metal band of all time, Black Sabbath. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler return home to close the final chapter in the final volume of the incredible Black Sabbath story." Eric Clapton Living In Pain From Peripheral Neuropathy(Classic Rock)

Eric Clapton says he has been living in pain for the last 12 months. The guitar icon reveals in a new interview with Classic Rock that he has been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy - a condition that can result in muscle weakness, numbness and tingling in the feet or hands and loss of balance and co-ordination.
Clapton - who released his 23rd solo album I Still Do last month - says: "I've had quite a lot of pain over the last year. It started with lower back pain and turned into what they call peripheral neuropathy, which is where you feel like you have electric shocks going down your leg. And I've had to figure out how to deal with some other things from getting old."

Clapton, 71, adds that he feels lucky to be alive, considering his history of booze and drug abuse. He says: "Because I'm in recovery from alcoholism and addiction to substances, I consider it a great thing to be alive at all.

"By rights I should have kicked the bucket a long time ago. For some reason I was plucked from the jaws of hell and given another chance." Read more here.




Pantera React To Murder Of The Voice Star Christina Grimmie(TeamRock Radio)


Pantera have called on the music industry to do more to protect musicians after the weekend murder of Christina Grimmie, a former contestant on television show The Voice.
The 22-year-old singer was shot while signing autographs after a performance in St Petersburg, Orlando, Florida, on Friday. She was attacked by 26-year-old Kevin James Loibl who then took his own life following a struggle with Grimmie's brother.

Pantera say the incident brought back memories of the 2004 shooting of guitarist Dimebag Darrell while onstage with his band Damageplan. And the band add that they hope more will be done to prevent further similar tragedies.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Pantera say: "We are so sad and disappointed to hear that Christina Grimmie was gunned down the same way that Dimebag Darrell was.

"After Dime's murder, we all prayed that our industry - club owners and promoters - would do whatever they needed to do to protect artists from gun wielding fanatics.

"Sadly, that's not the case and another rising star had to pay the consequences with her life. Something needs to change." Read more here.

Iron Maiden Hit With Censorship In Lithuania(Classic Rock)


Iron Maiden's mascot Eddie has fallen foul of censors in Lithuania because he might scare children. A poster advertising Maiden's show in Kaunas, Lithuania, on June 23 has been removed from display after authorities intervened.
A spokesman for the Lithuanian arm of promoter LiveNation had the following to say to Delfi: "We received a letter that should stop advertising because it scares children.

"Right now, we have to decide how to carry on forward, but we must also immediately take down the posters." The poster features a Book Of Souls-era Eddie in black and white with glowing red eyes. See the poster and read more here.




Paul Stanley On Possibility Of KISS Reunion With Ace Frehley(Classic Rock)

KISS frontman Paul Stanley doesn't believe guitarist Ace Frehley will return to the band, despite the pair settling their differences recently. Frehley departed for the second and apparently final time in 2002, and some bad feeling seemed to remain until Stanley made a guest appearance on his solo album Origins Volume 1, released in April.
Asked about a reunion, Stanley tells Phone Booth Fighting: "I don't see it - and to me, that makes it even better. You can have people in your life, and what they are in your life changes over time.

"I'm happy to see Ace. We text. He was on the radio last week and I texted him, 'I'm listening.' It doesn't need to go further than that, but the fact that it's there is a terrific thing."

He describes his contact with Frehley as "about opening the door again" and continues: "I'm the one who benefits from it. I don't want to go through life thinking, 'What if I had done this?' I want to face everything and see where it takes me." Read more here.




Architects Cancel Tour Due To Family Emergency(TeamRock Radio)

Architects have been forced to cancel their European touring plans due to a family emergency. They were scheduled to play a set at this weekend's Download festival in the UK before moving through Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, France, Belgium and Germany. But those plans have had to be put on hold.
A statement on behalf of the band reads: "Due to a family emergency, Architects are forced to cancel the rest of their European festival tour for June and July.

"They hate to let you guys down and would appreciate all of your understanding and support. The band would like to ask that you respect their privacy during this difficult time." Read more here.



Crowbar Fired Jeff Golden Via Text Message(TeamRock Radio)

Former Crowbar bassist Jeff Golden says he was fired from the band by text message - but that he knew the move was coming. His dismissal was confirmed last week, and hours later Kirk Windstein's band revealed they'd reunited with co-founding member Todd 'Sexy T' Strange.
Golden tells House Of Tortured Souls: "It wasn't a surprise at all. There was a phone call first, then we said it was all going to be worked out - and then I get a text message five minutes later saying I was fired.

"I heard rumours three months ago that the original guy was back. When I brought it up they said it wouldn't happen and they definitely wouldn't do that to me.

"But I could tell something was up. It was said that it was told to me, but it was never told to me. I found out through Facebook." Read more here.

Ghost were forced to cancel a pair of festival appearances this past weekend due to illness. The Swedish rockers pulled out of Pinkpop in the Netherlands on Saturday and the UK's Download Festival on Sunday after their frontman came down with a case of laryngitis.
"We are truly sorry about last nights' and tonights' cancellations on Pinkpop Festival and Download Festival," said the band via social media. "Papa Emeritus III has been sick for a week and had a very weak voice on Friday nights' show at Download Paris. Waking up on Saturday with no voice at all, doctors orders were rest and absolutely no talking.

"Fornicating, however, was no problem so we have sent him to a so-called 'Adult Spa' somewhere in Northern Europe to recuperate and now we are aiming at being back on stage in Oslo on June 15.

"But mourn not, children. We are coming back to both the United Kingdom and The Netherlands, bigger than ever, headlining with everything on top + then some, within not too long. Stay tuned for more info." Read more here.




New Found Glory Announce 'Stories of a Different Kind' Book(Radio.com)

New Found Glory have announced the release of a new book entitled Stories of a Different Kind. The coffee table book will including flyers, poster art and short stories from the throughout the band's career.
"When New Found Glory first started, a messy photocopied piece of paper was the way in which we would tell people about our local shows," said the band in a joint statement. "We could have never imagined that such a simple, lost concept would now serve as the spark to reignite a lost memory.

"Stories Of A Different Kind is a storybook, but not a beginning-to-end narrative. It's a visual journey through a time period that pre-dates social media and blogs: a time that newer fans might not know had existed and older fans can look back on. This could be our biggest accomplishment as a band to date and we are very excited to share it with everyone. As fans, you're just as big of the reason why it exists as we are."

Chino Moreno's Supergroup Saudade Has More New Music(TeamRock Radio)

Chino Moreno says his supergroup Saudade with Bad Brains' Dr Know have a number of new tracks in the works. Saudade issued a self-titled track in April - and Deftones frontman Moreno says he, guitarist Dr Know, Cro-Mags drummer Mackie Jayson, keyboardist John Medeski and his Crosses bandmate Chuck Doom on bass, have another "12 to 13 songs" written.
He exclusively tells TeamRock: "Most of it is instrumental. There may be some stuff with me singing on it, but mostly I'm just playing guitar. It's just fun. At this point it's not so much a band as a project. These are guys that I admire and I'm lucky to be friends with them - so we made a batch of songs together.

"Slowly but surely, they will probably come out - but it's more likely to be something that I leak out or let people hear, as opposed to something we'll package up and try to sell. That's not the idea behind it." Read more here.




Sabaton Streaming New Album 'The Lost Battalion'(TeamRock Radio)

Sabaton have released a lyric video for their track The Lost Battalion. It's taken from their upcoming eighth album The Last Stand, which will be released on August 19 via Nuclear Blast.
On The Lost Battalion's lyrical content, Sabaton say: "The Lost Battalion is the name given to nine companies of the United States' 77th Division during the battle of the Argonne in 1918.

"Even though these 550 to 575 brave men were completely surrounded by the German Army and subjected to friendly artillery fire, they kept on fighting for a week until they were relieved.

"Of the over 500-plus soldiers who entered the Argonne Forest, only 194 walked out unscathed. The rest were killed, missing, captured, or wounded." Stream the song here.




AC/DC Announce Thunderstruck Tequila(Classic Rock)

AC/DC will launch their own brand of tequila later this summer. The tequila is expected to be released mid-2016 and will be available in Silver, Reposado and Anejo varieties.
Bevnet.com report that Perryscope Productions and Epic Rights - the licensing and merchandising companies representing the band - have teamed up with Mexican company Fabrica de Tequilas Finos to create Thunderstruck tequila.

It's the latest addition to AC/DC's foray into the drinks industry, after having previously released Rock Or Bust beer along with Hells Bells and Back In Black wine. Read more here.




Rob Reed Releases New Video From 'Sanctuary II' Album(Prog)

Magenta's Rob Reed has release a video for the opening section from latest solo album Sanctuary II. The follow-up to last year's Sanctuary - his personal tribute to Mike Oldfield classic Tubular Bells - features Les Penning on recorders and Simon Phillips on drums, and it was completed by Oldfield collaborators Tom Newman and Simon Heyworth.
He's also revealed a video of Phillips recording drum tracks from his studio in the United States. Multi-instrumentalist Reed tells Prog: "It's been a dream come to true to have Simon playing drums and Les playing recorders, and having the Tubular Bells production team of Tom and Simon."

He's gearing up for two live performances based on the Sanctuary albums at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios in Wiltshire on October 8. "We have a fantastic band lined up and hopefully some special guests," he reports. "I's going to be a very special, very intimate experience." Check out the video footage here.

Crobot have released a stream of their track Not For Sale. It's taken from the band's upcoming album Welcome To Fat City, which is set for release on September 23 via Wind-Up Records.

Killswitch Engage's Dutkiewicz Plans New Times Of Grace Album(TeamRock Radio)

Killswitch Engage spinoff project Times Of Grace will put out another record, according to Adam Dutkiewicz. The guitarist says he'll begin work on the follow-up to 2011's The Hymn Of A Broken Man with frontman Jesse Leach. And he's confirmed he already has a handful of tracks written.
Dutkiewicz exclusively tells TeamRock: "We're going to do another record. I have written five songs and I'm hoping after we get home from tour, I'll start demoing some more material. Once we get enough demos for a record we'll probably go into the production stage."

Dutkiewicz also recalls his time on the TV game show The Price Is Right last year, when he took home more than $50,000 in prizes. He continues: "I've loved game shows since I was a kid. I'm just fascinated with how they work. When you go everyone has the chance to be a contestant, and they interview you to see if you have a personality." Read more here.




Radiohead Plan 'Unique' Listening Events(Prog)

Radiohead have announced that they will be holding "unique" listening events across the world for their latest studio album, entitled "A Moon Shaped Pool."
The 'Live From A Moon Shaped Pool' events are scheduled to take place on June 17 at record stores globally, and will see the band's latest record streamed all day.

Gary Moore Guitar To Be Auctioned(hennemusic)

A collection of guitars and amplifiers owned by the late Gary Moore will be auctioned off in London later this month. More than 35 pieces will be available June 29 via Bonhams Entertainment Memorabilia sale at the auctioneer's location in Knightsbridge, London.
Moore made a name for himself in the late 1960s with the Dublin-based Skid Row before following bass player Phil Lynott in 1974 to play with classic rockers Thin Lizzy.

Throughout his career, Moore recorded numerous solo albums, and shared the stage with the likes of B.B. King, Albert King, Jack Bruce, Albert Collins and George Harrison.

"Before his death, Gary Moore had amassed an incredible collection of instruments," says Stephen Maycock, Bonhams Entertainment Memorabilia consultant specialist. "Some 35 guitars, as well as a selection of vintage amplifiers, will be offered at auction for the first time in Bonhams Entertainment Memorabilia sale. As you'd expect from such a great musician, there's a lot of interesting guitars in the collection, including several Gibson Les Paul models." Read more here.



As Lions Celebrate Wembley Arena Gig With 'White Flags' Lyric Video (TeamRock Radio)


As Lions have released a lyric video for their track White Flags. The clip shows the band performing at Wembley Arena on their tour with Five Finger Death Punch earlier this year.
The song is produced by David Bendeth, who has worked on albums by Paramore and A Day To Remember, and mixed by Josh Wilbur, who has previously collaborated with Avenged Sevenfold and Megadeth. They're set to release their debut EP this year.

Frontman Austin Dickinson, the son of Iron Maiden frontman Bruce, previously said: "We're all such tight friends, and this feels like everything is exactly how it needs to be. Public Service Broadcasting Stream EVA Remix(Prog)

Public Service Broadcasting have streamed a version of their track EVA, as remixed by Dutch Uncles. And they've revealed a new shirt that balances their previous "Go!" design with a "Stay!" equivalent, to reflect the debate over the upcoming UK referendum on whether to remain in the European Union.
PSB and Dutch Uncles go head-to-head in a silent disco at London's Science Museum on June 17, to mark the launch of The Race For Space Remixes, based on their 2015 album.

J Willgoose Esq of PSB says: "The original 'Go!' shirt clearly only refers to the moon landings. Eyehategod have cancelled their summer European tour due to "personal issues" and "scheduling complications." The New Orleans outfit were scheduled to play a run of shows in July and August.

Black Sabbath Announce Final U.S. Farewell Tour Shows(hennemusic)


Black Sabbath have announced the final U.S. concerts of their farewell tour. The shows will cap the UK outfit's 2016 North American tour and final US dates after more than four decades.
The band have added three dates to the fall trek, including November 8 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK, November 10 at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX and November 12 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX.

Black Sabbath will headline the Download Festival at UK's Donington Park this Saturday, while fans have uncovered flyers detailing UK tour dates in the new year.

The unconfirmed 7-show run appears to start January 22 in Manchester and may see the band finish their farewell trek with two shows in their hometown of Birmingham in early February. See their updated tour dates here.




The Red Hot Chili Peppers Stream New Song 'We Turn Red'(Classic Rock)


The Red Hot Chili Peppers have released a stream of their track We Turn Red from 11th album The Getaway. The follow-up to 2011's I'm With You is released on June 17, and comes after the band ditched all the songs they'd written for the project and started again.
They were last month forced to cancel two shows after frontman Anthony Kiedis suffered a health emergency. He was later diagnosed with intestinal flu, and said: "Maybe there was a reason for me to get sick - so I can get stronger than I was before."

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently touring Europe, culminating with appearances at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals in August. See the dates and stream the song here.




Rolling Stones To Rock Las Vegas(hennemusic)


The Rolling Stones have announced an October 19 date at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV and the band has released a video / trailer for the special one-off show.
The band's first show in the city in three years will come on the heels of their performances at the Desert Trip Festival in Indio, California on October 7 and 14.

The inaugural Desert Trip event is produced by organizers of the annual Coachella Festival on the same site. Running October 7-9 and 14-16 at the Empire Polo Club, the Stones and Bob Dylan will perform on Fridays, Paul McCartney and Neil Young on Saturdays and Roger Waters and The Who will close out Sunday evenings. Lost George Harrison Tracks To Surface On Gary Wright Album(Classic Rock)


Lost guitar tracks recorded by late Beatle George Harrison in 1972 will be released next month. He contributed to Spooky Tooth frontman Gary Wright's Wonderwheel album Ring Of Changes - but the album was abandoned, with only the single I Know being heard.
Harrison is heard on Goodbye Sunday and several other tracks when Ring Of Changes is launched via Esoteric Recordings on July 29. The label say: "Following his departure from Spooky Tooth after the Ceremony album, Wright participated in sessions for Harrison's All Things Must Pass, and enjoyed a solo career that culminated in him forming the band Wonderwheel.

"Originally featuring Mick Jones, Bryson Graham and Archie Leggett, the group participated on his second solo album Footprint. In 1972 they recorded Ring Of Changes, with Tom Duffey replacing Leggett on bass." Read more here.

Video AC/DC With Axl Rose Manchester Show Goes Online(hennemusic)


AC/DC featuring Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose continued the Rock Or Bust world tour at Etihad Stadium in Manchester, UK on June 9th and video form the show has been posted online.
It's the 11th of 13 stops on the spring European leg as the band settles in to a solid 23-song setlist that mixes material from both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras.

Earlier this week, Rose hinted at the possibility of working on new music with Angus Young and the group while juggling his duties with Guns N' Roses.

"We [GNR] are working on new stuff," the singer told Sir David Tang during an hour-long public interview at The China Exchange on June 7. "I've got a lot of stuff together, and I played some stuff for Slash and Duff and they liked it. And Angus and I are talking about working together. So we'll see."

Rose also revealed that he brought in a vocal coach for the first time in decades to prepare him for a setlist that presents a challenge to any vocalist.

"I do a lot of vocal exercises," he reveals. "The Brian Johnson 'Back In Black' stuff is really demanding. Sing it wrong and you might not be signing again."

The Stone Roses Stream New Song 'Beautiful Thing'(TeamRock Radio)


The Stone Roses have released the second single of their comeback. Following on from May's unveiling of All For One - the band's first new music in 21 years - they've issued another track, called Beautiful Thing.
The track is available for digital download now via Virgin EMI, with a limited edition 12inch vinyl version also on offer. The vinyl version is limited to 5000 worldwide and will ship on July 22.

Primal Scream Frontman Injured In Fall From Stage (Classic Rock)


Primal Scream have cancelled nine European dates after frontman Bobby Gillespie injured his back in a fall from the stage. Gillespie fell from the stage during the band's performance at the Caribana festival in Switzerland last week.
Shows in Spain, France, Italy, Sweden, Ireland and the UK have been affected. The band released the following statement about the accident and the canceled shows:

"Primal Scream have been forced to cancel several European and UK shows this summer following Bobby Gillespie's accident last Thursday night at the Caribana festival, Switzerland.

Corrosion Of Conformity's Reed Mullin Returns Following Seizure(TeamRock Radio)


Reed Mullin rejoined Corrosion Of Conformity for their gig in Winnipeg - just days after suffering an alcohol-related seizure. The COC drummer left the tour after collapsing ahead of Sunday night's show in Edmonton, Canada. His role was filled by Jean Paul Gaster and Chris Adler of tourmates Clutch and Lamb Of God.
A statement issued by COC bassist Mike Dean seemed to suggest Mullin would be out of action for some time as he sought help for long-standing substance abuse issues.

But he turned up unannounced in Winnipeg, Canada, on Tuesday night and performed with the band. COC say: "Twist of plot - Reed showed up today in Winnipeg and played well, against advice. We're glad he's still with us. One day at a time and hopefully some big changes." Read more here.




Queens Of The Stone Age Making New Album(TeamRock Radio)


Josh Homme says he's about to start work on the next Queens Of The Stone Age album. The QOTSA frontman has had his hands full with his work in the Eagles Of Death Metal and with Iggy Pop, but he plans on getting started on the follow-up to 2013's ...Like Clockwork this month.
Homme tells Let There Be Talk: "Same lineup, we're locked in. We're having a meeting tomorrow about what we're gonna do." Homme's suggestion that the next QOTSA album will feature the same lineup as ...Like Clockwork seems to rule out a return for former bassist and long-time friend Nick Oliveri.

But he still speaks fondly of Oliveri, even comparing his antics to that of the late Motorhead frontman Lemmy. Homme says: "Nick is like Lemmy's kid. I really miss Lemmy, because you always knew where you stood. Lemmy was, 'I'm like this, so if you wanna hang with me, you gotta accept that.' And Nick is the very same way. You always know where you stand with Nick.

Bring Me The Horizon Insist Sound Change Not A Sell Out(TeamRock Radio)


Oli Sykes insists that Bring Me The Horizon's recent move towards a radio-friendly sound isn't a case of the band selling out. That's because they're making the kind of music they always wanted to make.
BMTH released fifth album That's The Spirit in September. It hit number one on rock charts across the world, and narrowly missed out on topping the UK's mainstream chart.

Sykes tells BBC Radio 1: "We always wanted to be the catchiest, heaviest band. It wasn't intentional to become an A-list radio band. It was just the music we like.

Drowning Pool Excited By 82-Year-Old's Cover Of 'Bodies'(Classic Rock)

Drowning Pool hope 82-year-old America's Got Talent star John Hetlinger will join them on stage. Hetlinger, from Colorado, made headlines when he got through to the second round of the US TV talent show by performing Drowning Pool's hit Bodies - leading three of the four judges to vote yes.
His performance went viral and was noticed by the band who received a barrage of texts from friends about Hetlinger's success. And guitarist CJ Pierce says he'd love to share the stage with the pensioner.

Pierce tells Loudwire: "It's awesome to just see an 82-year-old man get out there and just belt out some metal - whether it was our song or any song, it was just killer to see him do that."

Anderson Rabin Wakeman 'Going To Be Quite A Trip' For Yes Fans(Prog)


Jon Anderson has described his upcoming reunion with Rick Wakeman and Trevor Rabin as "the next understanding of Yes that I hear." And despite keyboardist Wakeman's caution over recording an album in tandem with their US tour in October, the vocalist says he's feeling positive about their progress.
ARW last month confirmed they'd begun a collaboration for the first time since the Yes Union tour of 1991, after Chris Squire's death inspired them to turn conversation into action.

Anderson tells The Prog Report:"We've been recording some ideas over the past couple of months. We're going to get into it next week. Trevor's starting this week. Rick's going to be involved through the internet.

"We've got a musical design to aim for. I think we might have it all tied up by August then we'll start rehearsing for the tour. We really feel quite comfortable about where we're heading - it's going to be quite a trip." Read more here.




Good Charlotte Release '40 oz. Dream' Video (Radio.com)


Bands find their inspiration for music videos from all over, and sometimes that includes a favorite TV show or movie. For Good Charlotte's new video "40 oz. Dream," the band made an ode to the comedy TV series The Last Man on Earth.
Benji Madden described the video as "A little tribute to our favorite show and the God, Will Forte." The Last Man on Earth focuses on a group of people who find one another after a mysterious virus wipes out most of the human race.

A title card in the video's opening seconds sets the stage for how Good Charlotte will interpret that premise. "In 2011, without warning, Good Charlotte retreated from the music scene and ventured into the desert to find themselves," it reads. "While on their spirit walk an unforeseen catastrophe wiped the human race off the earth, leaving them alone to contemplate the state of the planet and the future of mankind, but also leaving them…The Last Band on Earth."

The band hits the dusty trail and sets off for Los Angeles, where they plan on playing the last show on earth. Fans of the show will find all sorts of references peppered throughout the video, from main character Tandy's (literal) ball friends to the house he eventually takes over and stocks with cultural and historical artifacts. Nonpoint have made their track El Diablo available to stream. It's taken from the band's upcoming album The Poison Red, due for release on July 8 via Spinefarm Records. Nonpoint previously issued a lyric video for the song Generation Idiot.

Ian Astbury Explains The Cult's Longevity(Classic Rock)


The Cult's Ian Astbury says the band have stayed relevant over the years because they "have a lot left to say." The UK outfit once again teamed up with longtime producer Bob Rock for their latest record Hidden City, and guitarist Billy Duffy announced they'd be supporting Guns N' Roses on upcoming tour dates.
But the vocalist says the group, formed in 1983, keep their finger on the pulse of the modern world - which is key to their ongoing success. When asked whether the band had come "full circle," Astbury tells Canoe: "Not so much, because we're not really taking stock - we're just getting on with it.

"We're trying to make choices based upon instincts. We've been offered a lot of opportunities to make money touring with artists who maybe had commercial and artistic successes several decades ago. But we choose not to do that.

Shearwater Get Animated For 'Pale Kings' Lyric Video(Prog)

Shearwater have released an animated lyric video for their track Pale Kings. The song is taken from latest album Jet Plane And Oxbow, released earlier this year via Sub Pop. The video was created by Matthew Watkins.
Jet Plane And Oxbow is their first release since 2014's Missing Islands: Demos And Outtakes 2007-2012 and is described as their "loudest record" to date and a "leap forward that fans always believed they would make."

Gojira Will Go Faster With Next Album(TeamRock Radio)


Mario DuPlantier says fans won't have to wait as long for the next Gojira album. Their forthcoming record Magma will be launched on June 17 - four years after their last studio release, L'Enfant Sauvage.
But the drummer says they already have a lot of ideas for future material. He tells Metal Vani: "I think we will go faster this time because we have tons to release.

Boston post-hardcore band Vanna are streaming their new song Mutter exclusively with Metal Hammer; taken from the band's upcoming album All Hell, which will be released on July 8th.

The Vintage Caravan will return to the UK for a seven-date tour in November, they've confirmed. It includes the psychedelic Icelandic outfit's first-ever headline show in London - and they've promised to "expand the minds of fans."
Frontman Oskar Logi had the following to say about the trek: "Ah, the United Kingdom. We love you. We have a good thing going on and we hope you feel the same way.

"You are the Barry to our White, the Pink to our Floyd and the Bootsy to our Collins. We hope you remember the good times we had - let's make some more sweet memories." See the dates here.




Motorhead's Record Label Announces First Batch Of Releases(Classic Rock)


Budderside, Others and Barb Wire Dolls will be the first acts to release music on Motorhead's record label. Motorhead Music will issue Greek punk band Barb Wire Dolls' second album Desperate and LA rock outfit Budderside's self-titled album on July 29, while a record by Transatlantic rockers Others will follow later in the year.
Motorhead Music was founded by the band to help upcoming acts find their way in the music industry. In a statement, the label says: "They wanted bands to have access to everything they enjoyed, from production to studios to marketing to distribution - the full monty.

"Motorhead Music will continue to follow the mission statement as laid down by Lemmy and the boys. So if you want to support raw, exciting rock'n'roll, punk and whatever music is on the label, come one, come all. If not, don't let the door hit yer arse on the way out." Scorpion Child Changed Things Up For New Album 'Acid Roulette'(Classic Rock)

Scorpion Child say that while their music encapsulates the sound of the 70s, their latest offering is something of a departure. They released Acid Roulette today, June 10 - and while it still features a 70s vibe, frontman Aryn Jonathan Black says it's a natural progression from 2013's self-titled debut.
He tells New Noise Magazine: "We love 70s music certainly, but we have less of a sacredness with it than we did eight years ago. We have found a way out of 70s purism.

"I like maintaining pieces of that decade throughout the music, as it was a great time for heavy riff creativity, but it fails to say everything we would like to say.

"It's very important to us to keep the roots and seeds from certain trees we've planted in order to raise up an eclectic forest of majestic beauty elsewhere."

He adds that while they didn't set out for a change to their sound, having a band full of musicians with different musical influences was always going to have an impact of the outcome of the album

The Music Industry Has Been 'Stolen' Says The Who's Daltrey


(Classic Rock) Roger Daltrey says The Who are unlikely to ever release another album because the internet has "stolen" the music industry. The frontman admits he and guitarist Pete Townshend have discussed the possibility of making a follow-up to 2006's Endless Wire, but as it stands he can't see it happening.
The Who unveiled standalone single Be Lucky in 2014 and at the time, Daltrey hinted that a full album would follow. But he tells Rolling Stone: "We've talked about it, but it's not going to be easy. There's no record industry anymore. Why would I make a record?

"I would have to pay to make a record. There's no royalties so I can't see that ever happening. There's no record business. How do you get the money to make the records? I don't know. I'm certainly not going to pay money to give my music away free. I can't afford to do that. I've got other things I could waste the money on."

Asked why the record industry is in the state that it's in, Daltrey adds: "Well, it's been stolen. The way the internet has come about has been the biggest robbery in history, like musicians should work for nothing.

"You get paid for streaming, my ass. There's no control. Musicians are getting robbed every day. And now it's creeping into film and television, everything now." Read more here.




Video From AC/DC With Axl Rose's Leipzig Show Goes Online(hennemusic)


AC/DC featuring Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose on lead vocals continued the Rock Or Bust world tour at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig, Germany on June 1, and footage from the concert has surfaced online.
Before an estimated crowd of 45,000, the ninth stop on the European leg delivered the lineup's standard 23-song set, mixing classic Bon Scott-era tunes with Brian Johnson-led material - including songs from their latest release, 2014's "Rock Or Bust."

Four shows remain on the spring run, which wraps up in Dusseldorf, Germany on June 15. A little over a week later, Rose will rejoin Guns N' Roses for a summer stadium tour of North America that begins at Ford Field in Detroit, MI on June 23. Check out the videos here.




Classic Dio Albums Remastered For New Box Set(hennemusic)


Ronnie James Dio's classic era Dio albums have been remastered and will be released as a new 6-disc box set, "A Decade Of Dio: 1983-1993", on July 22, followed by a vinyl edition this fall.
The project compiles newly-remastered versions of the group's first six studio albums, including 1983's "Holy Diver", 1984's "The Last In Line", 1985's "Sacred Heart", 1987's "Dream Evil", 1990's "Lock Up The Wolves" and 1993's "Strange Highways." It can preordered here.

Issued first on CD, a vinyl edition of the box will available on October 4 and will include a bonus 7" single. On the first side is the 1983 version of "Evil Eyes," which was originally released as the b-side on the "Holy Diver" single. In addition, this version is different from the one featured on the 1984 album "The Last In Line." The flip side features "Time To Burn," which was the only studio track featured on the 1986 live release "Intermission." The vinyl edition is available for preorder here.

After two albums with Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio left in 1982 and formed Dio with fellow Sabbath band mate Vinny Appice on drums. The group's platinum-selling debut "Holy Diver" arrived in 1983 and is now revered as a heavy metal masterpiece, including two songs that would become rock signatures: the title track and the epic "Rainbow In The Dark." Deep Purple Finish Recording New Album(hennemusic)


Deep Purple keyboardist Don Airey says that the band have finished recording their new album. The group have spent the past few months working with legendary producer Bob Ezrin, who oversaw 2013's "Now What?!"
"As far as I know, it's all recorded and now," Airey tells Russian news agency TASS ahead of the start of the band's shows in the country on Thursday. "It's on the tender mercies of Bob Ezrin, he's going to mix it. I haven't been given a release date, I know nothing about that as yet. If I knew, I'd tell you but I don't."

Bassist Roger Glover recently revealed the group's schedule for the project. "We started the next album in Nashville on the 28th January," says Glover. "Thirteen days of pre-production and thirteen days recording in the studio. Lucky thirteen because we have thirteen tracks, all but finished except for vocals. Coincidence or what?
"How many will end up on he album is hard to tell yet… maybe all of them, maybe not. I won't even begin to describe the music--an impossible job in any case. Suffice to say I've been listening to the rough mixes and there's a smile on my face. Bob Ezrin and the team did their usual superb job." Read more here.




Motorhead Release Live 'The Chase Is Better Than The Catch' Video(Classic Rock)


Motorhead's performance of The Chase Is Better Than The Catch is the latest video clip that has been released from the band's Clean Your Clock live DVD.
"Clean Your Clock" was filmed in Germany in November, just weeks before mainman Lemmy died at the age of 70. The package is set to be released on June 10th and can be preordered here.

Lemmy's life will be celebrated at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods on June 13, at the Eventim Apollo in London. Surviving members Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee will perform a tribute set with assistance from Saxon. Watch the video here.




Johnny Ramone Tribute To Include P.J. Soles, Sex Pistol Steve Jones


Rock 'N' Roll High School star P.J. Soles and Sex Pistols' Steve Jones are just some of the guests set to be part of this year's Johnny Ramone Tribute at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
The event will be taking place on July 24th and will feature a screening of the classic Ramones film Rock 'N' Roll High School, followed by a Q&A session with the star of the film P.J. Soles (Riff Randell), "The King of the B's" Roger Corman, director Allan Arkush.

The Sex Pistols legend Steven Jones will be hosting the event. Organizers also tell us that "the bash will feature a screening of the RAMONES IT'S ALIVE 1976-1996, as well as a pop up gallery of Ramones and punk photography by Morrison Hotel Gallery, and a rare exhibition of Metallica guitarist Kirk 'Von' Hammett's private collection of movie monster memorabilia."

"I can't wait," says Linda Cummings Ramone, Johnny's wife and the organizer of the event. "Johnny loved hobbies and collecting. I know he would be excited about the tributes 'cause they are so much fun and a place for everyone to gather and see cool stuff. Between Rock 'N' Roll High School, Ramones It's Alive, Kirk Von Hammett's horror collection, and of course, his statue and all the special guests…it's a perfect day and night for all to come."





Arch Enemy Singer Cast As Notorious Serial Killer(TeamRock Radio)

Arch Enemy singer Alissa White-Gluz plays the role of notorious serial killer Lavinia Fisher in a new art project called American Murder Song. Fisher is often described as America's first female serial killer, although when she was executed in South Carolina in 1820 she had been charged with highway robbery, not murder.
White-Gluz says: "I've been collaborating with some very cool people for a very cool project recently. You know I love musical theatre, so when Terrance Zdunich and Saar Hendelman asked me to take part in their unique new horror musical project, of course I said yes.

"Welcome to American Murder Song, where I act as the subject of a song for once rather than the author. I got to work with some old friends like Official Chibi Birthday Massacre and some new ones like Aurelio Voltaire to create something very different and interesting."

White-Gluz appears in American Murder Song's first video for a track called The Innkeeper. It can be viewed here.




Black Crowes's Rich Robinson Streams New Solo Song(hennemusic)

Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson has released an online stream of the song "Which Way Your Wind Blows" as a preview to his forthcoming album, "Flux."
Due June 24, Robinson recorded his fourth solo release at Applehead Studios in Saugerties, New York, where he did 2014's "The Ceaseless Light" and a series of live recordings billed as "The Woodstock Sessions."

"I love being in the recording studio," says Robinson. "It fuels the desire to create within me. I enjoy watching it unfold. Each development fires another idea and in the end, you have this organically created song that seemingly came out of nowhere. It brings me such joy and peace. It never ceases to amaze me."

The guitarist recorded "Flux" with bassist Zak Gabbard, drummer Joe Magistro, keyboardists Matt Slocum, Marco Benevento and Danny Mitchell, as well as vocalists John Hogg and Danielia Cotton. Stream the new song and read more here.




Encyclopedia of KISS Released(Classic Rock)


Veteran rockers KISS now have an encyclopedia dedicated to them. Author Brett Weiss is a lifelong fan of the band and his publication Encyclopedia of KISS: Music, Personnel, Events And Related Subjects has now been released.
It's said to be a "comprehensive reference guide to virtually everything in the Kiss universe, featuring detailed information on the band's songs, albums, games, toys, tours, television and movie appearances, family members, girlfriends, collectibles, comic books, solo work and much more."

Amon Amarth Won't Be Changing Their Tune(TeamRock Radio)

Johan Hegg says Amon Amarth will never stop writing about Vikings. While the vocalist admits that the band's chosen subject might seem "weird" to other people, he says that he finds its culture and history fascinating.
When asked whether they would ever stop writing about Vikings, he tells Banger TV: "Whenever I get the question, I say, 'It's not like anyone asks Satyricon if they're gonna stop writing about devils and demons, or, ask Cannibal Corpse whether they'd stop writing songs about blood, guts and gore.'

"I think it's because Vikings are such a weird topic for people. They're not familiar with it. They're kind of like, 'How much can there be?'" Hegg continues: "There are so many aspects of Viking culture that are really fascinating. Just the fact that they actually travelled to North America 400 years before Christopher Columbus ever did - that's a big thing.

Red Fang Announce European Tour(Classic Rock)


Red Fang have announced a European tour for this autumn. The Portland outfit will perform alongside their Relapse Records' labelmates Torche on all dates, with God Damn joining them for the UK shows.
The band recently wrapped up recording the follow-up to 2013's Whales And Leeches, with producer Ross Robinson, and it's expected to be released later this year.

Drummer John Sherman said: "I've never been more excited about making a record in my life. The writing process for this album has been super fun and full of energy and good vibes.

The Jelly Jam Release 'Profit' Album Documentary(Prog)

The Jelly Jam have unveiled a 15-minute documentary focusing on the making of fourth album Profit. John Myung of Dream Theater, Ty Tabor of King's X and Rod Morgenstein of Winger released the follow-up to 2011's Shall We Descend on May 27.
It follows the story of The Prophet, a character who's determined to save the world by changing the lives of "Those Who Will Not See." Frontman Tabor recently said:

"In order to make Profit the strongest album, we recorded a lot of excess music and chose songs that worked together. It's not just a bunch of songs thrown together - It's an entire journey through a story." Watch the documentary here.




Lacuna Coil Announce 30-Date Winter Tour(TeamRock Radio)


Lacuna Coil have announced a European tour in support of their new album Delirium. The Italian metal outfit will kick off their 30-date winter trek at Vosselaar's Biebob in Belgium on October 21 following their Australian tour earlier that month. The run also includes six UK dates in November.
Last month, singer Cristina Scabbia admitted the band were not taken seriously when they first started out in Italy. She said: "At the beginning it wasn't easy, because when you say you're a musician, people immediately say, 'Ok but what's your job?' 'I'm a musician,' 'Yeah, but what's your real job?' 'No, really, I'm touring the world, this is how I pay my bills.'

"People still don't look at musicians as people who really work. At the beginning my parents were worried for me, like, 'Where do you think you're going?' - especially coming from Italy. There aren't a lot of rock or metal bands from Italy." See the tour dates here.




Pvris' Next Album Is 'Very Dark' Says Lynn Gunn(TeamRock Radio)

Pvris say their upcoming second album will continue the 'dark' vibe they achieved on their 2014 debut White Noise. And while the Massachusetts outfit won't give too many details away, singer Lynn Gunn reports they'll also incorporate new elements to evolve their sound.
She tells Upset Magazine: "The band is very dark and the music is very dark - especially on the next record. I think we'll elaborate on that darkness a lot more but there will be new elements brought in for sure. It's hard to tell right now but we're thinking about it."

Pvris are out on the road for much of the summer, but bassist Brian MacDonald says he's hopeful that once their last two shows in Japan in August are over, they'll hit the studio.

He says: "We don't get our first break until August and it's not even 100% that we'll get that - something might come up. I think we're supposed to record in September or October." Read more here.




Epica Singer Simone Simons Talks New Album(TeamRock Radio)


Epica singer Simone Simons says their upcoming album The Holographic Principle has a more catchy feel than their previous work. The follow-up to 2014's The Quantum Enigma is set for release on October 1 via Nuclear Blast - and Simons also reveals they pushed themselves to make the record "bigger than before."
She tells Spark TV: "It was a huge amount of songs and a lot to take in - but we put everything in this record and we hope that it will pay off. The Quantum Enigma was received so well, we set the bar so high, but we accepted the challenge to make an even better record. And we've done everything bigger than before - we had more orchestra, a bigger choir. We had so many different instruments. Vocally, I put everything in the record that I can possibly do, and I'm very pleased with it."

She refers to the album orchestration and choral sections as being "the seventh and eighth" members of the band, and adds: "Besides having catchy melodies, we also wanted to have really groovy vocal lines. And that's something we worked on as well. We changed up some things to make it less predictable." Watch the full interview here.



Blink-182 Unplugging For Rock All Dayer Event(TeamRock Radio)

Blink-182, Asking Alexandria and A Day To Remember are among the artists confirmed for the BBC's Rock All Dayer. The event will take place at the broadcasting company's Maida Vale Studios in London on June 8 and will be available to stream live via iPlayer Radio.
Names also confirmed are Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Moose Blood, Creeper and Against The Current. Blink-182, who this week released California - their first album with frontman Matt Skiba - will perform an acoustic set on the day.

Minor Victories Supergroup On Their Long-Distance Approach(Prog)

Minor Victories say trust was the key to making their long-distance band relationship work. The supergroup is made up of members of Mogwai, Slowdive and Editors and they release their self-titled debut album via Fat Possum Records on June 3.
The band members - Slowdive vocalist Rachel Goswell, Mogwai guitarist Stuart Braithwaite, Editors guitarist Justin Lockey and bass player James Lockey - recorded the album without ever all being in the same room at the one time.

And while it worked for them, Braithwaite admits it won't work for everyone. He tells Rolling Stone: "I think a lot of people would be a little too precious to do this. We went into this with really good spirit and a lot of trust in each other.

"A lot of musicians need minute-to-minute discussions about how things go. Quite often, bands have members that are pretty precious. Thankfully, no band I've ever been in.

"I don't think it's going to overtake everyone getting into a room and playing, but it's good to know that there are other ways to make records." Read more here.




Dave Grohl Looks Back At His Pre-Nirvana Band(Gibson)


Nirvana wasn't Dave Grohl's first band. Before becoming a mega-star with "Smells Like Teen Spirit," he rocked as the drummer in Washington, D.C. punk band Scream.
Scream recorded their final album in 1993, Fumble, and the guys recently reissued the set via Dischord Records. In honor of the reissue, Grohl posted a reflection of his time with Scream.

"Once upon a time, when I was just a wee lad, I played drums in a punk rock band from the Washington, D.C. area called Scream," Grohl wrote in a Facebook message. "I had grown up buying their records and going to see their live shows, and eventually had the honor of becoming their drummer at the age of 17. Fresh out of high school, I started touring the world with them from 1987-1990." Read more here.





The Lounge Kittens' Upcoming Album Includes 'Several Curveballs'(TeamRock Radio)


The Lounge Kittens have released the artwork for their upcoming debut album Sequins & C-Bombs. The all-girl trio will release the album on September 16 and confirm it will be made up of their unique take on a range of rock covers.
Pink Kitten Zan Lawther says: "We can't tell you what songs are on there yet, but we can tell you that yes, it's all covers and yes, there's loads of new stuff and several curveballs we're particularly excited about."

The album cover was shot by Paul Harries in "a freezing cold studio." Red Kitten Jenny Deacon says: "The album cover is the first thing that people see, before you even hear the music. It represents what the album means and who the band or artist are. Paul took loads of beautiful shots of us but we decided out and out 'sexy' just doesn't suit us. We want people to know that picking up that album is going to result in unprecedented levels of fun." Read more here.




Gamma Ray's Kai Hansen Announces Solo Debut(Classic Rock)


Kai Hansen will unveil his debut solo album XXX - Three Decades In Metal in August. The former Helloween and current Gamma Ray guitarist and vocalist teams up with Alex Dietz of Heaven Shall Burn on bass, Eike Freese on guitar and Carcass drummer Daniel Wilding on the record.
He also announced he'll donate money from the album to the Wacken Foundation - a charity which helps young hard rock and metal bands. Hansen says: "I am celebrating 30 years of being able to do what I like best. On XXX I am reflecting on my roots, where I come from, how it all started for me.

"I believe you need a certain drive, passion and, of course, a bit of luck and coincidence to make it in the music world - and, of course, some financial support. Hopefully, with my donation, young musicians are given the same chance that I was given a long time ago, too. And who knows, maybe we all will be playing together at Wacken in 20 years." Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes Release 'Snake Eyes' Lyric Video(TeamRock Radio)

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes have released a lyric video for their latest track Snake Eyes. It was premiered on BBC radio earlier this week, when former Gallows frontman Carter explained that it's an attempt to face down his fight against depression.
He said: "It's like a fly on the wall in my hotel room, at midnight, in the middle of a tour while I'm sick and drunk. The fly is a giant, bellowing beast of burden that, no matter how I try, I can't escape. We've all been there. "

He added: "Everyone's problems take different shapes - mine at the snake eyes looking back at me every time I roll the dice." Summing up the moral behind the song, he said: "Challenge yourself. You will prevail." Watch the video here.



Combichrist Streaming New Song 'Skullcrusher'(TeamRock Radio)


Combichrist have released their lyric video for track Skullcrusher. The song is lifted from their forthcoming album This Is Where Death Begins, due out on June 3. It features guest appearances from Motionless In White mainman Chris Motionless and MXMS singer Ariel Levitan.
Combichrist vocalist Andy LaPegua says: "I finally feel like we came full circle with this album, considering we're all from the punk rock, hardcore and metal backgrounds.

"After 10 years of electronica in the studio and a full live band, I feel like I captured the live sound and energy. Every style of music that I have done through the last 25 years has some kind of presence on this album."
