Bill Ward Holds Out Black Sabbath Hope
(Classic Rock) Estranged Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward says he'd like to play a part in the band's future, if it's likely to be a long run.

Despite bowing out of their heralded reunion after failing to reach a contractual agreement with Sabbath's managers, he says he loves playing with Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Terry 'Geezer' Butler as much as he did when they formed in 1969.

In the first of a six-part online TV show presented by Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jess Hughes, Ward says: "There have been some very uncomfortable situations in the last six months. We'll see how that works out. But I stand for myself today, as much as I love them.

"I'll always play – that's my life. If there's some longevity with Black Sabbath, then I'd like to be a part of it." more on this story

Morrissey Shoots Down The Smiths Reunion Rumor
(Gibson) A spokesperson for Morrissey has refuted rumors circulating recently that The Smiths might reform.

"The Smiths are never, ever going to reunite – ever," the Morrissey representative told Rolling Stone. Asked why, the spokesperson replied, "You would have to ask Morrissey that. There's got to be a story there, and maybe one day it will be told."

Guitarist Johnny Marr also rejected the idea of a reunion, telling NME.com, through his manager, "It isn't happening." Marr's statement reiterates comments he made to Rolling Stone earlier this year, regarding a possible Smiths reformation. "Nothing really gets off the ground, just purely because of money," Marr's said. "Certainly, as I see it, so many other things would have to be fixed and we're just too different to get them fixed, it appears." more on this story

Tarja Not Interested In Nightwish Reunion
(Classic Rock) Tarja Turunen has silenced requests for her to return to Nightwish, saying it's never going to happen.

The singer was fired in 2005, but fans have asked her whether she'd rejoin the band after her replacement Anette Olzon left earlier this week.

"I would be ready to return to Nightwish – if all the band and management were changed," Turunen tells Iltalehti. "No one knows what I went through over the years with the band. I accept how hard it is for fans to understand my feelings." more on this story

Ritchie Blackmore Tributes Big Jim Sullivan
(Classic Rock) Ritchie Blackmore has paid tribute to Big Jim Sullivan, his former guitar tutor, who died this week.

The ex-Deep Purple guitarist issued the following statement via Facebook: "I first met Jim Sullivan in 1958. He was introduced to me by my sister-in-law's brother. We both lived in the same area: in Middlesex, Cranford. He was playing with Marty Wilde And The Wildcats. He showed me another level of playing. He was probably the most advanced guitarist in the London area.

"I would listen to the radio every week there was a Marty Wilde show. Jim was often featured on the show so I was glued to the radio. He also made some great instrumentals. One being Trambone and one being Peak Hour. He was the first guitarist to play through a wah-wah pedal. It was a DeArmond foot volume and tone control. I remember an instrumental called The Bat, where he used the pedal. That would've been around 1959. more on this story

Gwar Release Hilarious Cover Of Rock Classic
(Classic Rock) Gwar have unveiled new guitarist Pustulus Maximus in a dangerous-to-hear cover of Kansas classic Carry On Wayward Son.

Pustulus replaces Flattus Maximum (Cory Smoot) who tragically died in his sleep on the band's tour bus last year.

In the video, shot for AV Club Unvercover, Maximus explains of the song: "I hadn't even heard it till they played it for me the other days. I was convinced they'd written it and I was like, 'What are you guys doing writing that derivative crappy seventies crap crap. We're not playing that song ever again.' Kansas was a big part of a music where bands were often named after geographical locations. Let's hope that never happens again."

Among the lyrics Urungus remembers are: "Carry on my wayward son, get the hell off the couch and get a goddamn job, get your ass out the door, don't you cry no more." Watch it here.

Hughes Says Black Country Communion Just Need Break
(Classic Rock) Glenn Hughes has stepped back from recent comments about the future of Black Country Communion – saying the band just needs to take time away, and they could tour next year.

The frontman, a former member of Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, sparked speculation last month when he suggested BCC's third album Afterglow could be their last.

But now Hughes suggests all that's needed is a little time away. He tells Metal Talk: "In two years we've done three albums and one live album. That's quicker than Led Zeppelin and Purple. I don't think anybody except Joe releases albums that quick.

"Give us a break. I mean, we need to give you a break. I need a break. It's really difficult to write ten or twelve quality songs every year for three years. So I need a break now." more on this story

B Sides

Singled Out: Slam One Down
Today the members of Slam One Down tells us about the title track to their latest album, "Who Really Wants to Live Forever." Here is the story:

Bobby Brazen (Vocals): I remember when I began writing the lyrics for this song we only had a rough cut of the music and somebody said "I feel like this is going to be our Cowboys From Hell." And I feel like that's exactly what's happened with "Who Really Wants to Live Forever".. Being one of the earlier songs we wrote as a band, I already had a vision for what I wanted this song to do. Here was a band of guys who are no different than anyone else, who were going to take over the world headfirst, partying hard, full throttle, and on our own terms - because that's what we wanted to do. Just like the song says, "We're here to rock 'n roll, to change the world and take you all. No one can tell us we're wrong. NOW YOU'RE ONE OF US!!!!

J.R. (Guitars): The opening riff is really the foundation of the Slam One Down sound and groove. I've always liked riffs that I can hum or sing along to, and I also love when they make you have to work a little bit in metal, there's a time for big open chords and a time to be aggressive...and that's what happens here. This riff really moves and the gallops are always in keeping with a signature metal sound. I originally wrote the riff in a much higher register; more of a lead-type riff. After I played it a few times, I moved up the neck to the heaviest spot I could get it, and there you have it. The rest of the track flows so well with the riff because it all revolves around the same key as the intro.. The bridge was more of a heavy breakdown. but when I sat down to record it I kept hearing harmonies behind it. So, I decided to lay down those simple harmony riffs, and it worked out. Live, it's all about brutality. I am a big fan of build-ups, too, I love how the bridge builds up to a real heavy climax.

Shane(Bass): This song really does sum up the album and the attitude of Slam One Down. The way I see it, the message is two-pronged: who wants to do something that will live on and be greater than themselves? On the flip-side of that, it's "Who really cares? It's about doing what we love and having a great time while we're doing it!" Either way you interpret the song, if you are here with us, really getting into the song, then you're one of us!

Roach (Drums) : "Who Really Wants To live Forever" is the quintessential party rock anthem. With the anthemic chorus and thrash style throughout the song it's very fun to play live and see the crowd get into it. Out of all the songs on the album, this one is the most recognizable to me. The guitar riff intro tells you right away what's going to happen throughout the song and Bobby's vocals reaffirm that. The first time we played this live, and I saw people at shows singing along with the lyrics, I knew this song was going to be an instant hit. With this song, I really worked on my drum chops. I didn't previously play a lot of double bass in the songs, but this song definitely changed that. It's intricate in terms of playing and with the acrobatics I do with my sticks. I always look forward to playing this one in a set.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!

Sites & Sounds: Jack Kerouac, Jerry Garcia, Kathy Griffin and Haagen Dazs
antiMusic travel editor Kevin Wierzbicki takes a trip to the Bay Area for this week's edition of Sites & Sounds. Find out what Jack Kerouac, Jerry Garcia, Kathy Griffin and Haagen Dazs have in common. Here you go:

Does thinking about San Francisco have you conjuring images of Jack Kerouac and the city's fabled Beatnik scene, or perhaps bring to mind one of the Bay Area's most legendary bands, the Grateful Dead?

The newly-remodeled Hotel Triton from Kimpton Hotels honors both eras. Kerouac's words are incorporated into the design of many of the rooms, including on wallpaper that's inscribed with "All human beings are also dream beings; dreaming ties all mankind together" and other inspirational quotes from the beat poet.

Guests will also find Kerouac's On the Road and Allen Ginsberg's Howl on their bedside table along with a selection of books inspired by San Francisco. Those more into a Summer of Love vibe can book the Jerry Garcia suite; this is not a room crammed full of Grateful Dead memorabilia, rather it is a room that was designed by the late guitarist.

Hotel Triton also has a suite designed by comedienne Kathy Griffin and a somewhat wacky suite that pays homage to Haagen Dazs ice cream

Today's Day in Rock

Foo Fighters Confirm Hiatus
Dave Grohl has ended the speculation about the Foo Fighters plans to go on hiatus by confirming that the band plans to take a break and he's "not sure when the Foo Fighters are good to play again."
Grohl informed fans via the band's Facebook page with the following message: Dave here. Just wanted to write and thank you all again from the bottom of my heart for another incredible year. (Our 18th, to be exact!) We truly never could have done any of this without you…

Never in my wildest dreams did I think Foo Fighters would make it this far. I never thought we COULD make it this far, to be honest. There were times when I didn't think the band would survive. There were times when I wanted to give up. But… I can't give up this band. And I never will. Because it's not just a band to me. It's my life. It's my family. It's my world.

Yes… I was serious. I'm not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again. It feels strange to say that, but it's a good thing for all of us to go away for a while. It's one of the reasons we're still here. Make sense? I never want to NOT be in this band. So, sometimes it's good to just… put it back in the garage for a while… more

Grey's Anatomy Star Vs Billy Corgan
(TMZ) "Grey's Anatomy" star Eric Dane has declared legal war on his "Smashing Pumpkins" neighbor Billy Corgan, claiming a falling tree nearly KILLED Eric's pregnant wife ... and it's all Billy's fault -- but Billy tells TMZ, he's innocent.

Eric and his wife Rebecca Gayheart filed the lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court -- claiming one of Billy's trees came crashing through their Beverly Hills home during a nasty storm last year ... flooding the house ... and breaking a giant power line.

Thanks to the fallen tree, Eric claims Rebecca -- nine months pregnant at the time -- had to evacuate a "quickly flooding" home while dodging live high-voltage wires. TMZ posted pics of the damage.

Eric claims Billy had been warned about the dangerous eucalyptus trees on his property and failed to take action.

But Billy tells TMZ, that's "patently untrue" ... insisting he was never warned about his dangerous trees and didn't realize they posed a threat until it was too late.

Billy says, "I was horrified when I learned about the tree falling during what was a massive storm, a storm with winds strong enough to uproot a 50 ft tree by its base! Thankfully no one was injured."

As soon as the accident happened, Billy says he called an expert to have similarly dangerous trees removed from his property. Billy calls the lawsuit "a shame ... because [Eric and Rebecca] are nice people."

Eric and Rebecca are suing for nuisance, negligence, and injunctive relief -- demanding unspecified damages. more on this story

There I was at art school at the age of 16 and still rehearsing with Mick. Keith was playing guitar. He was fascinated by Scotty Moore. He was too shy to suggest he come around to rehearse with us until one day he and Mick caught up with each other. They had known each other when they were really young. Government Agencies Plotted To End Rolling Stones Career?
(Classic Rock) An author claims [the British intelligence agency] MI5 [and the FBI] planned to sabotage the Rolling Stones' career, and the infamous Redlands raid was the result of a carefully-orchestrated plot.

Philip Norman says the British secret service forced a drug dealer to infiltrate band circles with the intention of discrediting Mick Jagger and co, so that they'd fall out of fame.

The police raid on Keith Richards' Redlands home in February 1967 failed to secure the end of the Stones, although Jagger and Richards both spent time in jail as a result of the investigation. The plot thickens.

She missed the Nightwish show in Denver, Colorado and was temporarily replaced by support band Kamelot's backing singers Elize Ryd and Alissa White-Gluz.

"Our plan is the have the new album done by the end of spring or earlier, then hopefully take a few months off to do normal things like go to bed early and wake up early, walk the dog, that kind of stuff. Then we'll probably be back on the road starting next fall." A lot more here.

Dillinger Escape Plan To Begin Recording New Album
Dillinger Escape Plan have tapped Steve Evetts to produce their new album and will be entering the studio next month to begin recording the effort.

Guitarist Ben Weinman had this to say: "This new material is very punk-, very hardcore-influenced. Maybe it's all the amazing bands reuniting from my youth that is inspiring this. Billy [Rymer] and I have just been listening to old hardcore records blasting through my house and then going down to the dungeon and just bashing. Greg [Puciato] also seems to be in a very dark place lyrically. I think it's going to be pretty creepy. If these songs don't put some holes in the wall, I don't know what will."

The band later added on their Facebook page, "This of course is misinformation on Ben's part, as the new album is as of now shaping up to be progressive ambient trance mixed with noise."

Zappa Roxy DVD To Be Released After Four Decade Wait
(Gibson) It's been a long wait, but it looks like Frank Zappa fans are finally about to get their hands on something they've waited four decades for.

In the meantime, in anticipation of the actual movie, the ZFT will release a prequel to the soundtrack more on this story

Gwar Name New Guitarist
Almost a year after Cory Smoot's untimely death, Gwar have named the guitarist who will be replacing him. The group made the announcement in their usual way. Here you go:

It was a little less than a year ago that the world was rocked by the passing of Flattus Maximus, back to the cosmos from whence he came. And since that day fans of GWAR have wondered how the mighty overlords of GWAR would deal with the void it left within the band. GWAR responded the only way they knew how-by soldiering on-and continued to play as a four-piece. But from the very beginning of that phase, the quest began to find the new Scumdog that was in every way as magnificent as his predecessor. Today the members of GWAR are pleased to inform their legions of followers, and even more so their many enemies, that once again the band is whole, with the proclamation that long-lost cousin of Flattus, Pustulus Maximus, has officially joined the band in the position of lead guitarist, and will join with the group on their upcoming "Fate or Chaos" tour.

Pustulus offered his first words to the press with the following, "At this point I have nothing to say to the press, even though I am talking to you. I will let my guitar speak for itself. But let me add that I am blood-sworn to honor the legacy of the great Flattus and indeed the whole Maximus tribe. I didn't come here to f**k around. HAIL FLATTUS!" more on this story

Machine Head Releasing Double Live Album Next Month

The album was recorded at various tour stops across the globe last year. It includes songs from the band's catalog, including "Imperium," "Aesthetics of Hate," "Locust" "Ten Ton Hammer," "This Is The End" and of course, "Halo."

"The Head Cases [fans of the band] have been so intense on this tour cycle that we had to start capturing the shows, especially with technology making it so much easier to record," said frontman Robb Flynn. "We culled some of the best nights where the band and crowd were on fire and made a bad ass, nearly tw0-hour, double live album, which is a great documentation of where the band is at 18 years deep." more on this story

Metallica's Kirk Hammett Looks Back At Master of Puppets
(Classic Rock) Metallica's Kirk Hammett remembers being bored during recording sessions for their classic album Master of Puppets, because it took Lars Ulrich so long to lay down his drum tracks.

The guitarist says he'd sometimes have to hang around for days, playing cards with late bassist Cliff Burton. But despite that, he has fond memories of making the 1986 work, recently voted the greatest heavy metal album of all time.

"That album is my favourite Metallica album. We'd been playing together as a band with that lineup for about three years," Hammett tells Rolling Stone. "We were definitely peaking. Master of Puppets, in my opinion, was the sound of a band really gelling, really learning how to work well together." more on this story

BB King Film To Hit UK Theaters
(Classic Rock) A film about the life of blues legend BB King will open in cinemas across the UK on October 15.

BB King: The Life Of Riley is directed and produced by Jon Brewer, who has been given exclusive access to King's friends, family and colleagues. The movie promises to be a no-holds-barred doc that explores how a black cotton picker from Mississippi turned his life around and battled against the odds (and rampant racism) to become King Of The Blues, performing over 15,000 gigs and selling in excess of 40 million records worldwide to date.

The film is narrated by Morgan Freeman and features contributions from Eric Clapton, Bono, Ringo Starr, Carlos Santana, Bill Wyman, Slash, Bonnie Raitt, Peter Green, Buddy Guy, Ronnie Wood, Bruce Willis and many more. More including the trailer.

Doogie Howser And ZZ Top
Classic Rock Revisited spoke with ZZ Top star Billy Gibbons about several songs on their new album, La Futura, as well as why long beards have never taken off as a fashion statement, the time ZZ Time played and recorded after a hurricane and who would play the band in a movie written about them. Here is that last part of the exchange:

Classic Rock Revisited: when they make the ZZ Top movie… A) What will it be rated? B) Who will play each member of the band and C) Will the soundtrack be better than the actual movie?

Billy Gibbons: It will be rated "ZZ," of course or, maybe "ZZ 13." Frank will be played by Neil Patrick Harris, Dusty will be played by Dustin Hoffman (he's already got the name part down) and yours truly, the Reverend Willy G, will be played by either George Clooney or Brad Pitt. I'm sort of kidding about that last one. Would you believe Denzel Washington? No, huh? The album won't be as good as the movie because I don't think "Doogie Howser" is a particularly great drummer, but I could be wrong. more on this story

Singled Out: Young Buffalo
Jim Barrett from Young Buffalo tells us about "Nature Boy" from their brand new self-titled EP which is hitting stores today. Here is the story:

I was a freshman in college and I was studying abroad in Thessaloniki, Greece. I lived in this apartment on campus, but my roommate and I were pretty much the only students living in the building. the rest were teachers and interns, etc. At the time, I was suffering from panic attacks and having a tough time dealing with being so far removed from the life I had in the States. But, that aside I met some incredible friends and folks influential to my writing.

My roommate Richie and I would, on weekends, climb to the upstairs apartment and smoke lots of weed with an older girl who was interning at our school. And we would eat breakfast and watch movies like Purple Rain, a RHCP documentary, stuff like that. Except, I would normally get so anxious and freaked out (anxiety and weed don't really mix, oddly enough!), that I would run back down to our basement apartment and work on the song that ended up being "Nature Boy," along with other early Young Buffalo demos. It's gone through some different titles, but the lyrics have stayed basically the same for about three years now.

"When you wake up, sleep still in your eyes, your mind's made up everyone guess the surprise if it isn't clear for you"; just your good ol' fashioned wake 'n bake that freaked me the hell out at that point in my life.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!

(Classic Rock) Jack White left fans angry after cutting a show short in New York's Radio City Music Hall at the weekend.
He stormed off after 45 minutes, with various reports suggesting he was unhappy with a heckler in the crowd, the audience response or the venue's sound.

Foo Fighters Going On Hiatus?
(Classic Rock) Dave Grohl has suggested yet again that the Foo Fighters are about to go on hiatus.

He told a crowd at New York's Central Park on Saturday: "Without making a big deal out of it, we don't have any chows after this. Honestly, I don't know when we're going to do it again."

Last month Grohl shouted down rumours caused when he told the UK's Reading Festival it would be the band's last appearance for some time, saying: "I was only talking to England!" More rock news.

Another Veteran Rocker Slams Green Day
(CBS Local) In the wake of Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's recent onstage outburst in Las Vegas (resulting in the singer checking into rehab), bass player Trevor Dunn of sludge-rock legends the Melvins has lashed out at Armstrong, calling him a "little weasel" in a scathing diary entry on Spin.com.

"There's nothing worse then [SIC] some rock'n'roll brat throwing a tantrum and going AWOL just because he can't keep himself occupied," Dunn wrote.

"Yes, I'm referring to that little weasel in Green Day. That guy's main problem is that he doesn't realize that he is Justin Bieber. He should take some of the green in his wallet, buy himself a green smoothie and relax. What kind of band name is Green Day anyway? Is that in reference to all the chord progressions they continually recycle?" more on this story

Nightwish Singer Hospitalized
(Classic Rock) Nightwish vocalist Anette Olzon was forced to sit out the band's show in Denver, Colorado, at the weekend.

Her place was taken by support band Kamelot's backing singers Elize Ryd and Alissa White-Gluz. Olzon explains: "I got very ill and thought it was a kidney stone. I got worse in the evening and started vomiting heavily. The hospital said I should cancel the show and come straight to the ER. I was there all night and they did blood tests, ultrasounds on my kidneys and finally a CT scan. The tests didn't show why I was so ill, but probably the stomach pain has a connection with me having the flu, or just stress.

"They did find something else, though, and for that I'm grateful – if I didn't do the scan, I wouldn't know there's a big cyst in my liver and I need to go check it out at home." More rock news.

Director Talks Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day
(hennemusic) The forthcoming release of Led Zeppelin's "Celebration Day" captures the band's December 2007 reunion at London's 02 Arena, which saw the three founding members joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, headline a tribute concert for dear friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun.

The film's director, Dick Carruthers, says Zeppelin is a band who writes their own rules. "As John Paul Jones says, five years is five minutes in Zeppelin time," he tells Contact Music. "There's a band who, if they wanna sit on something until the time is right, they will. They're not hurried by any of the commercial pressures that might apply to another band."

Carruthers explained how the project came together. "All that happened was several years later, there was just a phone call and they said, 'Well, can we have a look at it then? Let's get the stuff out and let's have a look at it.' So we had two viewing days and we showed them what you call a line cut... and they were pretty blown away. I hadn't really seen the footage either and we realized it was something very special indeed." more on this story

"I used to listen and go, 'Wow, that's not quite how I meant it.' I really wanted to see if I could get it better. I tried Mr Blue Sky to see what it would be like to make it into a brand-new record, and I enjoyed the results so much that I tried another one, and another one," He tells Billboard. Singled Out: Wayland
Today Mitch Arnold from Wayland tells us about the title track from their 4-song EP "Welcome To My Head". Here is the story:

This song is a balls to the wall rock n' roll song about being just a little bit off center. It's that space between psychotic and normal. F-ing crazy. Everyone has a piece of there mind that is a little out there. Personally, I can totally relate to this. Being the lead singer of a touring rock n' roll band you've got to be a little bit on the edge of nuts. I'd say I went over the edge a long time ago. It's about thinking out of the box. "Bend the spoon, break the chain..." It's about mind over matter and going a little f-ing crazy trying to figure it all out. We're all trying to make the best of this life and do what's best for ourselves. If you don't access that piece of mind that steps out of the square that's exactly where you'll stay. You've got to fall down hard. You've got to be "shot down!"

It's a song about going over the edge and f-ing loving it! Welcome to my head!

Axl Rose's Ex-Wife Also Going After Artist
(TMZ) They're divorced, but Axl Rose's ex-wife still has the Guns 'N Roses singer's back -- insisting Axl NEVER tagged her house with vengeful graffiti ... and now, she's also going after the artist behind the allegations.

Axl's ex Erin Everly just sent a cease and desist letter to L.A. photographer Laura London, reiterating what Axl said in his own cease and desist letter to the artist -- Axl did NOT spray paint his wife's garage door with the message "Sweet Child o' DIE."
In the letter, Erin's attorney writes, "Ms. Everly unequivocally denies that Axl Rose ever painted those statements on her garage door."

London claims she took the photograph of the vandalized garage door back when she was Axl's neighbor many years ago. According to London, Axl had spray painted the message during a fight with Everly.

London is currently displaying the photograph in an exhibit in Downtown L.A. called "Once Upon a Time ... Axl Rose Was My Neighor."

Sources close to Everly tells us ... neighborhood kids were responsible for the damage, NOT Axl. more on this story

Radiohead Fans Upset Over Ticket Policy
(Classic Rock) Radiohead have slammed by fans who have fallen victim to what they say is an unfair ticket policy.

UK shows are being sold on a paperless ticket basis in an attempt to prevent touts from profiteering by selling passes on at inflated prices.

Ticketmaster's system allows fans to purchase in advance then gain access to the venue by arriving on the night with the card used to pay and additional ID. It operates a strict no-refund policy – so if you can't make it, no one can go in your place. The policy has also confounded people who bought tickets for someone else as a present. more on this story

Kurt Cobain's Suicide Note Quote Shocked Neil Young
(Classic Rock) Neil Young has admitted Kurt Cobain's suicide note, in which the Nirvana star quoted lyrics from the Canadian's song Hey Hey My My (Into the Black), "f***ed with" him.

Cobain shot himself in 1994 after failing to deal with the trappings of success. A piece of paper found by his body included the words "It's better to burn out than to fade away."

On hearing the tragic musician had quoted the line from his 1979 track, Young says he was deeply shaken. In his autobiography Waging Heavy Peace he writes: "When he died and left that note, it struck a deep chord inside of me. It f***ed with me.

"I, coincidentally, had been trying to reach him. I wanted to talk to him. Tell him only to play when he felt like it." more on this story

Singled Out: Flymore
Today Russian Nu metalers Flymore's lead singer Max "Frozt" Morozov tells us about their song "Nothing Personal" from their album "Millennium IV V". Here is the story:

Flymore feel nu metal lyrics are not an antagonistic struggle with the outer world, as it is in metal music in general but, rather are about an internal conflict. The most difficult thing is to resolve the conflict within oneself.

Animals live their life with instincts to preserve a whelp; a seal will grind sagebrush in -58 degrees Fahrenheit day after day for it to be able to find nutrition. And a seal cannot move to the south and send its little ones to kindergarten and create something inspiring. But a seal is not suffering from this and does not dream to make its world better. The Human being can choose to change his life, but this power could turn to be a punishment when we cannot choose between our own contradictions.

Our songs, as a rule, reflect our own sufferings and it's quite a serious task to decide then what symbols to use in a supporting music video.
We are sure the infighting that destroys from the inside must be described as clumsy, not good, not pretty, ugly and ruthless and that's why the band wanted a hero like this for the video of "Nothing Personal."

No doubt, an unrequited love is the most difficult of all internal conflicts. That is why the songs hero suffers from Love. The two are like Quasimodo and Esmeralda. He is ugly and she does not love him but she did not reject him forthright, causing him to live in pain. He hunts for his dream by any means necessary; like a hunter for his victim. But that living love was the only reason of all his existence, without it the maniac can't be free, he is just bound by his perplexity.

Please check out the video for "Nothing Personal" to see this story acted out. We survived some very intense conditions to make it but, it was a two days fun and we are happy with the result.

If you're still curious you can see this story as a part of our documentary "Flymore: Live in Minsk" on our YouTube channel. See you there!

Iron Maiden Looking Forward To Download
(hennemusic) Iron Maiden recently announced that they will headline the 2013 Download Festival on Saturday, June 15.

In part two of a new series of sessions with Metal Hammer magazine, Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson speaks about the band's upcoming appearance at the 2013 event.

"There's only a few bands, really, that can make a big fuss when you go to a place like [Donington]," says Dickinson. "Partly, it's what they're doing. If a band's been doing festivals over and over and over again – every summer they come around – 'oh, it's them again.' You lose a little bit of that excitement. It's a neat trick if you can manage to keep the level of excitement up. In part, I think it's because we're doing this set, as well, so it is a historic set, it is a fantastic stage set. Everybody's seen the setlist; everybody's read the reviews; everybody's got to see it in the flesh." Watch it here.

'IN YOUR DREAMS-STEVIE NICKS' DOCUMENTARY SCHEDULED TO PREMIERE:

Music Collaborator, Documentarian and Former Eurythmics Mastermind Dave Stewart Reveals Intimate Portrait of Grammy Winning Legend

Rock legend Stevie Nicks in collaboration with musical wizard Dave Stewart have co-produced and co-directed "In Your Dreams - Stevie Nicks" a documentary portrait of the illusive Nicks as they embark on a musical journey to write and record the critically acclaimed album "In Your Dreams". The film will premiere at the 35th International Hamptons Film Festival on Sunday October 7th and at the 20th annual Mill Valley Film Festival on Friday, October 12th which has already sold out.
Nicks, a multi Grammy Award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, lead singer and emotional catalyst and vocalist for Fleetwood Mac and one of the most recognizable female rock stars and revered songwriters in the world, allowed cameras into her home as she holed up in a magical old mansion high atop the hills of Los Angeles with Stewart and a wild cast of characters. The vibrant documentary tracks the year (2010) which Nicks calls "the best year of my life". The result is a rare study of a fascinating artist on par with D. A. Pennebaker's classic Dylan documentary "Don't Look Back" or Madonna's notorious "Truth or Dare."
Stewart and Nicks, co-directors of the film also co-wrote many of the songs on "In Your Dreams". The inner life of the legendary Nicks has by her design long been kept at a distance from the public. We learn in "Dreams" that her world features, costume parties, joyous dinner feasts, tap dancing, fantasy creations and revealing songwriting and recording sessions all of which are captured on film. Also cameos by Edgar Allan Poe, Mick Fleetwood, Reese Witherspoon, a massive white stallion in the backyard, owls and naturally a few vampires who appear in several "home movie" style music videos.
Along with tracking the Nicks/Stewart creative partnership, "In Your Dreams" includes plenty of other cinematic payoffs including rare never before seen personal scrapbook stills from Nicks' childhood and family life, and a wealth of candid backstage and performance shots taken over the last 35 years.
Nicks, who has sold millions of records as a solo artist, writer of such iconic songs as "Landslide", "Gold Dust Woman" and "Edge of 17" is regularly sited by stars as diverse as Taylor Swift, Kid Rock, Courtney Love, Sheryl Crow, The Dixie Chicks and John Mayer as an iconic favorite and heroine and is a continuous inspiration to the world's top fashion designers.

Beach Boys Reunion Ends In Dispute
(CBS Local) Just as the reunited Beach Boys are wrapped their 50th anniversary reunion tour this week in London, band members are feuding over the future of said reunion tour. Firing back at Mike Love's new tour dates without Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks, Jardine is urging fans to sign an online petition to Love.

The petition, which currently has nearly 2,000 signatures after a few days, was started by a fan and promoted by Jardine on his official Facebook. The petition reads as follows: "In order to preserve the validity of "The Beach Boys" as a whole, and not as a "money saving, stripped down version" that only contains 1 original member, and 1 member that joined in 1965, we ask you to re-instate the 3 other members to the touring group for your final years performing. It's the right thing to do, and it's what the fans want!"

Jardine is not the only Beach Boy to express his unhappiness with the reunion's end. "I'm disappointed and can't understand why he [Love] doesn't want to tour with Al, David and me," Brian Wilson recently said. "We are out here having so much fun. After all, we are the real Beach Boys." Find out Love's plans here which caused the uproar.

Tower of Power Star Needs Help With Cancer Battle
Tower of Power are calling on fans to help former guitarist Bruce Conte with his cancer fight.

Conte was diagnosed with leukemia a few months ago and is also an insulin-dependant diabetic and the band have updated fans on how they can help Conte in his fight.

Tower of Power are asking for donations to cover Conte's medical expenses including expensive medication. They report that he is responding well to the treatment and set up a Paypal donation link which they say 100% of the money collected will go to his medical expenses.

Conte had this message for fans: Around the beginning of July I took some routine blood tests to check my diabetes and doctors discovered that I had abnormal white blood cell counts. I was hospitalized for 3 days in LA and had to undergo 2 bone marrow biopsies, an ultrasound of my liver and spleen and lots of blood tests. It was determined that I had leukemia. They put me on a medicine called Imatinib 400mg. I have been on it for about 6 weeks and can tolerate the side effects. It has sent my blood levels back to normal for the this period of time. The meds are very expensive but the good news is that I can stay alive as long as I continue taking them. I don't have health insurance because of being diabetic. I am starting to get some help from some of my friends to get me through these hard times. I appreciate any help given. Read more and donate here.

Steven Van Zandt Reuniting The Rascals
Steven Van Zandt is calling on fans to help him organize a reunion of The Rascal's original lineup for the first time in 40 years for "Once Upon A Dream," a concert/theatrical event produced and directed by Steven Van Zandt and lighting/projection wizard Marc Brickman.

Van Zandt set up a Kickstarter campaign, which had 144 backers at press time, to help fund the project which is set to debut at the The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, December 13th, 14th, and 15th.

Steven Van Zandt had this to say: "To do justice to the Rascals importance, I've written a show for them that is just as unique as they are. It's called "Once Upon a Dream". It's a combination of a Rock Concert and a Broadway show that will include their own live performance by the original four Rascals - Felix, Eddie, Dino, Gene, and be complimented by filmed segments and news footage and will be a show that they can take all over the country.... The show will be an uplifting inspiration for you fans that have been waiting all these years, praying for a Rascals comeback, and those of you who are younger will get a real taste of the '60's you missed the first time around. Me and Marc have invested our time, money, and blood these last few years for this idea and now we need you to bring it home. Not one dollar that is contributed will go into anyone's pocket, or be commissioned in any way, every dollar will go into the production making it as good as it can be, as great as the Rascals deserve....So that's it. The Rascals are coming back. We have been looking for other investors but nobody has any vision anymore. Frankly nobody believes in this dream except me, Marc, Peter and you. The production will be as big as you make it. On behalf of the Rascals Thank you." You can learn more on the Kickstarter page.

Steve Howe Addresses Wakeman and Anderson's Absence From Yes
(Classic Rock) Steve Howe says classic-era Yes members Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman couldn't be there now because they don't want to commit to what the band believes it must do. And he sees no contradiction in Asia having done nothing while vocalist John Wetton was too ill with addiction issues to take part, while Yes replaced frontman Anderson – and his replacement – when they suffered sickness.

He feels Anderson and Wakeman did not share Yes's commitment to playing material from all eras of their 44-year career. "For Yes to evolve we had to have people who were committed to it, to warrant a position in the band. If you come in and say, 'I play the drums but in Yes I'm going to play the bongos,' we would say 'But we want a drummer.'," Howe tells Classic Rock Revisited.

"You've got to be able to provide the full story. We don't just look at little pockets when certain people were in the group. We look at the group as a whole." He had more to say about that and what's different with Asia.

We come to you from a small hotel room in Melbourne, Australia where this coming weekend will see us bring a close the first leg of our World tour (we have just toured New Zealand and Australia and the next leg is UK and Europe, then finally USA and Canada).

Its crazy how fast things have moved in the last 2-3 years. From playing flat parties and small bars in Dunedin, to having three sold out shows in London. We couldn't be more excited about our future in music, and our latest single "Forever" is the perfect representation of where we stand right now, and the journey we have been on.

Marlon (synth player) and I (Matiu – lead singer) had planned to get together and share some new demos. After running through the first few (not good enough to remember) we started to question whether or not anything would eventuate, until Marlon played me something. I remember think that this was the worst crap I had ever heard! But somewhere in the mix of this rubbish was a bridge section that immediately made us Feel. Our eyes lit up and we knew we had something.

From there is was a sh*t fight to try and turn this small section in to a song. We tried everything - epic synth lines to heavy rock chords to side chaining and nothing seemed to work. That was until Eli (drummer) suggested we pick up the acoustic guitar and pluck the progression. its weird how people can listen to the same thing but hear something completely different.

From there the lyrics came easily. The music itself made me feel like we had created something that is our own. Something that we can call Six60, so the word 'Forever' came to mind. I started to think about friendships and relationships, but also, our trials and triumphs as a band. Along with that, we wanted make a statement, that we are here to stay and that we are going to do everything in our power to get to where we want to be.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself, learn more about the album and see if they will be rocking in a town near you right here!

"I'm so delighted to be here today taking some credit," said Nancy. "Credit for all the long, hard work we do to bring a few good songs into the world. Songs are truly the messengers of love, and it's really amazing – f**kin' cool – when the message gets through."
