AC/DC Phil Rudd: Murder For Hire Charge Dropped
An attorney for AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd says that the charges for attempting to procure the murder of two men has been dropped by authorities in New Zealand, but the rocker still faces other charges.
Rudd attorney, Paul Mabey QC, issued a press release that said, 'I was advised by the (Tauranga) Crown Solicitor, (Greg) Hollister-Jones, that he had reviewed the police file and the available evidence to support the charge of attempting to procure murder. He had formed the view that there was insufficient evidence to justify that charge. He has now withdrawn the charge.'
The drummer was taken into custody after a raid at his Tauranga area home and was later released on bail. Rudd will still face charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis and threatening to kill.
A spokesperson for Tauranga Crown Solicitor Greg Hollister-Jones confirmed to Sky News Australia that the attempted procurement of murder charge has been dropped.
Mabey told Stuff.co.nz that Rudd will fight the threatening to kill charge and he also said that the drug possession charges were "minor".
Mabey also told the news outlet that that "the decision to charge Mr Rudd was made by the New Zealand Police without consultation with the Tauranga Crown solicitor."
The attorney added, "Mr Rudd has suffered unnecessary and extremely damaging publicity as a result of widespread and sensational reporting of a very serious allegation, which on any basis was never justified."
Before this dramatic change in events, AC/DC issued a statement Thursday addressing Rudd's arrest and assuring fans that it would not disrupt their upcoming album release and tour plans.
The band wrote on their Facebook page, "We've only become aware of Phil's arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil's absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year."
Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page Planning Tour
(Gibson) Now that he's completed work on the Led Zeppelin deluxe reissues, Jimmy Page says he's preparing to hit the road in 2015. Speaking to the Toronto Sun, the veteran rocker said he's already begun the process of bringing his guitar chops up to speed.
"If you asked me a year ago, I wasn't playing the guitar so much as I ought to," he said, "because I was spending so much time listening and completing the projects we're on now. But I am playing the guitar … because I am starting to get myself ready for the idea of doing something next year. In the same way that I approached the O2 [show], you get yourself up to speed…."
Page declined to specify who he has in mind as backing musicians. "I have to finish all the stuff I'm doing at the moment, all the promo and all of that, and then I'll do some serious rehearsing …," he said. "[I'll] reveal my hand at a later date … [form a band) next year."
The veteran guitarist did hint that his set list would combine old and new material. "I've got a lot of music that I'm known for," he said. "It goes back to still being a teenager. So I've got a lot. And I've got new material, that's the key to it, which will bring new surprises."

Rush Premiere Another Long Lost Song
(Radio.com) Last week, Radio.com premiered "I've Been Runnin'," an extremely rare Rush track from their early pre-Neil Peart era. That song and "The Loser" are two songs that they band performed at a televised concert from the Laura Secord Secondary School in Ontario in 1974, which featured their original drummer, the late John Rutsey.
The entire set is included as bonus material on R40, a six-BluRay disc compendium compiling of all of their live concert films from the past few years. There's 2003's Rush In Rio, 2005's R30, 2008's Snakes and Arrows Live, Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland and last year's Clockwork Angels Tour. This week, Radio.com is proud to host the premiere of "The Loser."
We spoke with bassist/singer Geddy Lee about the performance, the band's early days, and how he developed his on-stage banter. What went through your mind when you watched the footage of you guys performing in 1974?
Well, watching that is like an out-of-body experience for me. Because I remember it, and at the same time, it was so long ago, it's hard to know if it's a real memory, or a dream state memory. It's hard to feel like that same guy who was screeching on the stage back then in unusual clothing.
Alex Lifeson told us that the thing that stuck out in his mind is that the audience were seated the entire time, no one got up! That was a very Canadian response back then. Canadians, especially back then, were an almost self-conscious audience. Even if they were loving it, most of the crowd was quite quiet. That's changed, of course, over the years. Back then, you would play a small town in Canada or across the country, and you wouldn't be sure that they were loving it. When they actually were loving it, but they weren't very demonstrative about it. So, we'd come back from the U.S. and American crowds were famously exuberant, and then you'd cross the border and do some small town in Saskatchewan or something, the crowd would be not so exuberant. You'd feel like you were bombing, but afterwards people would come up and say, "Man, I loved your show!"
Was it bittersweet, watching the footage with John Rutsey? Yeah, it is sad in one sense, but it's also quite a nice thing that this footage is available, so people can see what we were like with him, and what he was like. I think in a way, it helps keep his memory alive. He's part of our history.
Back then, John was the guy in the band who talked to the audience from the stage. Did you prefer that you didn't have to take on that role? I was always the reluctant… everything. I was originally a guitarist, and the bass player in my old garage band quit, and they voted and I became the bass player. I was the only one that could sing, so I became the singer. I didn't really want to write lyrics, so in the early days of Rush, John wrote the lyrics. I was a very shy kid, I didn't really feel comfortable talking to the audience, so John did that. So I really kind of backed into my entire career.

Foo Fighters Reveal Big 20th Anniversary Show Plans
(Radio.com) Foo Fighters want you to celebrate their 20th anniversary this Independence Day. In honor of the milestone, the band is throwing a Fourth of July concert in the nation's capital and bringing some friends with them.
The show, which will take place at RFK Stadium, will feature sets from Buddy Guy, Gary Clark Jr., Heart, Joan Jett, LL Cool J, Trouble Funk and Trombone Shorty.
And if that wasn't enough, Dave Grohl and the guys are promising fireworks, a motorcycle rally and a BBQ at this festive occasion. Do not plan to hear them play their debut in its entirety though, Grohl has made it very clear he's not into that.

KISS Rock Hall Reunion Would Have Been Disservice Says Stanley
(Classic Rock) Paul Stanley says he feared the original Kiss lineup wouldn't have cut it if they had performed live at this year's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction.
Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley were finally inducted in April and organizers wanted the foursome to perform at the ceremony. But Stanley and Simmons wanted to play with the current band, which includes Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer. In the end, neither lineup played live.
Stanley tells KNPR News: "They wanted to have the original guys play in the band, and all of us in makeup, and, quite honestly, I think it would have done the band a disservice. That lineup has not been together for 14 years, and physically, perhaps, wouldn't have looked that great, and musically, undoubtedly, probably, would have sounded a bit suspect.
"So, to have people watch it on television and identify that as Kiss because there's four guys in makeup would not send a great signal to the people who are not following the band in its current permutation, or what it is today." Read more here.

Guitarist Jason Null adds, "Some of our most memorable shows were played for our troops. This year was basically 'back to the drawing board' for Saving Abel so we missed out on being able to go visit with them. Donating a percentage of these proceeds was just the right thing for us to do."

Nickelback Announce Massive North American Tour
Nickelback have announced that they will be spending a big part of 2015 on the road in support of their forthcoming album "No Fixed Address" with North American tour dates that stretch from the winter until late summer.
The band will be kicking off the 60 city tour on February 14th in Allentown, PA at the PPL Center and will be concluding the trek on August 29th in Atlanta, GA at the Aarons Amphitheatre at Lakewood.
The new album will be released on CD and digitally on November 17th and the band will celebrate the release with an appearance that night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, followed up with an appearance on Good Morning America on November 20th. Check out the tour dates here.
Rolling Stones Cancel Show Due To Jagger Illness
The Rolling Stones announced on Thursday that they have been forced to cancel this upcoming Saturday's concert on their 14 On Fire Australian tour due to an illness.
Stones frontman Mick Jagger has developed a throat infection and a doctor has ordered him to rest his throat for a few days forcing the band to cancel the November 8th show in Hanging Rock.
The band expects to resume the tour on Wednesday November 12th when they perform in Sydney. A band spokesperson released this message, "The Rolling Stones are incredibly disappointed to cancel the Hanging Rock gig and to disappoint their fans but were left with no other option."

Ozzy Osbourne Looks Back At Randy Rhoads' Audition
(hennemusic) Ozzy Osbourne shares the story of auditioning guitarist Randy Rhoads with his son, Jack, in the third and final episode of a three-part series for Noisey entitled Back & Forth.
Rhoads entered Ozzy's life as he was trying to build a band following his dismissal from Black Sabbath in April of 1979. Bassist Dana Strum - who later went on to form Slaughter - was working with Ozzy to audition players when he brought Rhoads in to the studio.
"This little guy comes in with blonde hair and I thought, 'Is that a chick?'," Ozzy explains. "He spoke and suddenly my ears perked up. He says, "Well, what do you want me to play?' I said, 'Play anything.' So he starts playing and I'm like - even in my drunken, stoned-out stupor - I go, 'Either this is f***ing one of the best things I've ever heard in my life or these drugs are really good'"
Rhoads joined Ozzy's new band, Blizzard Of Ozz, and went on to record the group's explosive 1980 debut and 1981's "Diary Of A Madman" before being killed in a plane accident at the age of 25 on March 19, 1982 while on tour with Osbourne. "I truly believe if hadn't got killed when he did he would be up there with the big guys," says Ozzy. "He was f***ing phenomenal."

KISS Kick Off Las Vegas Residency
(hennemusic) KISS kicked off their first Las Vegas residency, "KISS Rocks Vegas", at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Wednesday and fan-filmed video from opening night has surfaced.
The band's 17-song set opened with the title track to 1982's "Creatures Of The Night" before running through tracks from their 40-year career, including 9 tunes from the classic 1970s catalogue.
KISS will perform 9 shows at The Joint between November 5th and 23rd. The group's first extended stay in Las Vegas sees KISS following in the footsteps of several other rockers who paved the way, including Carlos Santana, Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Rod Stewart and Meat Loaf, among others.

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler Won't Read Joe Perry's Memoir
(hennemusic) Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler says he has no plans to read guitarist Joe Perry's newly-released memoir, "Rocks: My Life In And Out Of Aerosmith."
"Hell no!" he told TMZ in Nashville on Wednesday. "I have to go onstage with him next year. I wanna love the son of a bitch." Asked if he would consider reading it after the 2015 tour, Tyler replied, "I might. He hasn't read mine either."
Tyler is in Nashville to tape a performance with Brad Paisley for ABC-TV's CMA Country Christmas special this fall, which is being taped this Friday at the Bridgestone Arena.
Airing Monday, December 1st at 8 PM, ET and hosted by Sugarland vocalist Jennifer Nettles, the two-hour program celebrates the holidays with some of the biggest names in music performing holiday classics.

Astronaut's Bowie Space Oddity Cover Goes Back Online
(TeamRock Radio) Commander Chris Hadfield's cover of David Bowie's Space Oddity is back on YouTube following months of contract negotiations. The Canadian astronaut recorded the classic track last year on the International Space Station as he prepared to return to Earth after five months in orbit.
It launched on YouTube under a one-year agreement with Bowie's publisher and racked up close to 24 million views. It was removed in May this year after the deal expired.
Now, following months of talks, a new two-year agreement is in place enabling the track and video to be re-released. And Hadfield doesn't blame anyone for the situation.
He says on his blog: "David Bowie and his publisher had been very gracious - they had allowed his work, his intellectual property, to be made freely available to everyone for a year and had worked with us and the Canadian Space Agency to make it happen.
"There was no rancour and we removed it from YouTube to honour the agreement. This sequence wasn't anyone's fault. The day we took the video down, we started to work again to get permission to get it re-posted. But the legal process is careful and exacting and takes time."

Stevie Nicks Won't Be Judge On The Voice Or Tell All
(Classic Rock) Stevie Nicks says she plans to stay busy over the next 10 years - but she won't be appearing as a judge on any TV talent shows. The Fleetwood Mac singer hints she could release a second part to her current album 24 Karat Gold: Songs From The Vault. But she doesn't have the time to be a judge on The Voice - or the heart to pen a tell-all book on the fraught relationships that exist within Fleetwood Mac.
In a Facebook Q&A with fans, Nicks says: "I probably wouldn't be a judge on The Voice. It takes a lot of time, and there are so many things I want to do over the next 10 years.
"If you work on one of those shows, you are invested in it, and they spend a lot of time - half a year - of solid work, and you really can't be taking off on tour. Most people can't give up that time, for anything."
She adds: "I will probably never write a tell-all book. All the people I would talk about are still alive, and probably wouldn't be happy about it, so I wouldn't do that to them. Some day, when we're all very old, I will write the story in a very kind, calm, fun and romantic way. But not for a long time."

Corgan Blames Byrne's Smashing Pumpkins Exit On Boredom
(Classic Rock) Billy Corgan says Mike Byrne's split from The Smashing Pumpkins was down to the drummer's boredom. The Pumpkins mainman hints that the age gap between himself and 24-year-old Byrne was also to blame for his departure from the group. Motley Crue's Tommy Lee plays drums on one of the Pumpkins' upcoming albums, Monuments To An Elegy.
In a post on his website, Corgan says: "Mike Byrne has taught me a lot about his generation. And watching the twitch up close, the ADD of it all, I'm starting to understand what he found boring about The Mighty SP. He wasn't wrong. But he also wasn't right.
"Because the way to replace something is to best it, not join its shallow-pool ranks. And great musicians like MB are capable - if they are willing to stop looking into the shiny sun and wonder, quite rightly, what lies on the dark side of the moon."

The Agonist Reveal New Album Details and Release Trailer
Century Media have announced that they will be releasing The Agonist's new album "Eye Of Providence" on February 24 in North America and a day earlier in Europe.
The band have released a trailer and revealed the track listing for the album, which will be their first studio effort featuring lead singer Vicky Psarakis. Check out the trailer here.
Guitarist Danny Marino also shared the following details about the album's cover art, "We decided to go with a different medium for the cover art of Eye of Providence.
"We went with real photography and objects rather than hand drawn or CG as we have in the past. Deepti Suddul provided the awesome close up of the human eye. Mitch Harris Steps Away From Napalm Death Due To Family Illness
(TeamRock Radio) Napalm Death guitarist Mitch Harris will take a break from the band due to a family illness, they've confirmed. The UK outfit recently announced a North American jaunt with VoiVod, Exhumed, Iron Reagan, Black Crown Initiate, Ringworm, Dayglo Abortions, Theories and Phobia.
The 31-date tour kicks off on January 27 in Miami. They'll still play the live shows and will recruit touring musicians to stand in for Harris. They say his departure isn't permanent.
They say in a statement: "Due to illness within his family, we would like to announce that Mitch Harris will unfortunately not be performing with us for the near future. We stress that this is not a permanent arrangement, although we are unsure exactly when Mitch will return under the circumstances."

Previously Unreleased Jethro Tull Song Goes Online
(TeamRock Radio) Jethro Tull have streamed previously unreleased track War Child II via Prog, from the upcoming limited-edition 40th anniversary edition of their classic 1974 album.
The three-disc package includes a new mix by Steven Wilson plus music and a script synopsis from the abandoned film which was intended to accompany the original release.
The movie, set to star Leonard Rossiter, was shelved after the band failed to secure funding. Instead, War Child was released as a standard 10-track album.
The anniversary edition also features 10 orchestral soundtrack pieces of which only one has been previously released - War Child Waltz appeared on the 2002 reissue. Tull mainman Ian Anderson's sleeve notes appear in an 80-page booklet, which also carries a movie synopsis. Read more details and stream the song here.
In Flames Filming Shows For DVD
(TeamRock Radio) In Flames will film two of their gigs in Sweden for a DVD release. The first live show took place in Stockholm on Thursday, November 6 and the next show happens tonight (November 7) in Gothenburg.
Frontman Anders Friden reveals they're recording in their homeland as they want to give something back to fans and say performing in the country is like "coming full circle."
He tells Dearly Demented: "Gothenburg is the biggest show on the tour and it's in our home country. The city has given us a lot through the years and we would like to give something back and document where we started. It's like coming full circle."
The band released 11th album Siren Charms in September after inking a deal with Sony and Friden says returning guitarist Niclas Engelin brought "good vibes" to the recording process - but insisted he and guitarist Bjorn Gelotte still wrote the music.

Sharon Osbourne Told Ozzy To Die Quickly
(TeamRock Radio) Ozzy Osbourne has recalled the moment wife Sharon told him to "die quietly" while he was suffering the effects of strong drugs. The Black Sabbath frontman won the Classic Album award for Blizzard Of Ozz at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour in Los Angeles this week, while Sharon was named VIP of the year.
Speaking to Nicky Horne on the Classic Rock Magazine Show, Ozzy recalled Sharon's "tough love," saying: "It was about 4am, I was coming off some sh*t that I'd been taking and I wanted someone to love me back to life.
"I go, 'Sharon, I think I'm dying.' She goes, 'Well, die quietly - I've got a meeting at 9 o'clock.'" But he admitted he couldn't live without having the riot act read to him, adding: "We're not afraid to hang our dirty laundry in public. People know us as a family from The Osbournes TV show and that was not fixed. It was the way we live."

Metallica Frontman's Award Winning Car To Appear At LA Auto Show
(hennemusic) Metallica frontman James Hetfield's award-winning Black Pearl will be on hand for the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. Built from the ground up and designed by Hetfield and world renowned custom car builder Rick Dore, the Black Pearl has been touring shows around the United States for the past year.
"The Black Pearl is one of those things that - we initially had been taking other vehicles and cutting and pasting, making you own prototype in a way," explains Hetfield.
"This one we actually started from scratch. We started with a '48 Jag and basically tried to work it, work it down to frame and build it up from scratch from a drawing. It took it to a whole new level of car building: from a drawing."
The Black Pearl was inspired by some of the early concept cars of the 1930's, while the chassis is based off of a 1948 Jaguar. The body was completely hand built and shaped by Marcel and Luc De Lay under the direction of Dore, who's Rick Dore Kustoms built the rest of the project before the lustrous black finish was applied by Daryl Hollenbeck.

Wayne Static's Widow Speaks Out About His Death
(TeamRock Radio) Wayne Static's widow has vowed to find the strength to make sure he's never forgotten. Tera Wray says she's grateful for the support shown by friends and fans since her husband's sudden death this past weekend - and she's glad he passed away in his sleep.
Wray says in a statement posted to her late husband's Facebook page on Monday, "I would like to thank everyone on behalf of all the Wayne's family and myself for all the kind words from all of Wayne's friends and fans and other bands. Wayne went very peacefully in his sleep and probably didn't even know that it happened. (Which makes me feel better that he wasn't in pain.)
"It will be sometime before we know why it happened but I will keep everyone informed. He had so much more to give the world. As his wife, biggest fan, and worshipper, i will keep him alive and finish everything that I can that he has been working on. He will never die and I want to share everything that I can that he has to give to his fans and friends. I will try my hardest to be st[r]ong and make him proud."
She's also responded to speculation that Static died as a result of a drugs overdose. Read that here.
Led Zeppelin Score Top 10 Debut On U.S. Album Chart
(hennemusic) The expanded reissue of 1971's "Led Zeppelin IV" has debuted at No. 7 on the US Billboard 200 album chart. Billboard reports the album sold 35,000 copies in its opening week to land a Top 10 spot.
The project is joined by the reissue of 1973's "Houses Of The Holy", which opens at No. 12 in its first week with sales of 29,000. Led Zeppelin had similar chart debuts in their native UK, with "IV" debuting at No. 6 and "Houses" at No. 14.
The band's fourth album - which is officially untitled but is generally referred to as "Led Zeppelin IV" - features anthems such as "Stairway To Heaven", "Rock And Roll", "Black Dog" and "When The Levee Breaks".

Sammy Hagar Clarifies Comments About Chickenfoot's Future
(hennemusic) Sammy Hagar is clarifying recent comments he made regarding the status of supergroup Chickenfoot. Last week, Hagar told Rolling Stone that fans shouldn't expect a third album by the band.
He said, "I don't see any reason to make a new record. Going through the whole experience with a record label, and then going out and doing 150 interviews, a big tour and waking up at 4:00 a.m. to go on Howard Stern all to sell 35,000 CDs…It starts to feel like, 'Hmmmm. Is this pay for play?'"
Hagar was asked to clarify his comments on the red carpet prior to hosting the 2014 Classic Rock Roll Of Honour awards show in Hollywood on Tuesday.
"I would [make another Chickenfoot album], but it's just too much work right now," Hagar tells Vintage Rock. "I mean, I love Chickenfoot - it's my favorite band, but I just don't see us getting together and making a record right now. Everybody's got so much to do. Joe is in freakin' Australia right now."
Hagar recently released his first acoustic album, "Lite Roast", and was asked if he will continue to record solo albums moving forward. "Yeah, but I make kind of fun, easy things," he explains. "Chickenfoot records are difficult, 'cause we've gotta get together, we write, and we work, and we write, and we work, and it's really, really tough."

Jason Bonham Is No Longer In California Breed
(hennemusic) Glenn Hughes has confirmed Jason Bonham will not be returning to California Breed. Bonham opted out of a tour in support of the band's self-titled debut based on other commitments in his schedule; the group brought in former Queens Of The Stone Age/Eagles Of Death Metal drummer Joey Castillo for the trek.
"No, Jason won't be returning," Hughes tells The Rocktologist. "His other commitments were getting in the way of his California Breed schedule. I have no disrespect or Jason, only tons of love. You know, I've known him every since he was a little boy. It's just that he chose to work with other people when in fact he should be working with California Breed."
"And, you know," he added, "I'm a workaholic. When I'm working on an album or doing tours I give it all, heart and soul. For some reason Jason didn't want to be part of that. And it's OK, we've moved on."

Machine Head Streaming New Album Online
Machine Head are giving fans an advance online listen to their new studio album, Bloodstone & Diamonds, ahead of its official release in Europe tomorrow and North America and the UK on Monday (11/10).
The album was produced by Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn and Juan Urteaga (Testament, Vile), and was mixed by Colin Richardson (Carcass, Fear Factory, Slipknot, Behemoth, Devildriver).
Andy Sneap (Exodus, Testament, Arch Enemy, Accept, Megadeth) and Steve Lagudi provided additional tracking, editing, and mixing was done with heavy metal legend
"I cannot even begin to tell you how proud we are of this album," says frontman Robb Flynn. "It's been a heck of a ride. It looked like it might not ever happen again at one point, but man, this album is a milestone for us. You're going to love it Head Cases."

Pink Floyd Include 1968 Rick Wright Recording On New Album
(Prog) David Gilmour is delighted that Pink Floyd managed to include a 1968 recording of late keyboardist Rick Wright in upcoming album The Endless River.
Released on November 10, it's likely to be their final record, and it's designed as a tribute to Wright. The 46-year-old tape was made as the band prepared for an appearance at London's Royal Albert Hall. Gilmour says on the full-length promotional video below: "On the afternoon before we did it, during the set-up, Rick asked could he have a go on this great big pipe organ that was built in.
"So we set him up, set up a couple of mics up and recorded him playing, just jamming away on his own. We've got a piece of that tape from 1968 on the third side of the record."

Killswitch Engage's Jesse Leach Reflects On Suicidal Past
(TeamRock Radio) Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach recalls the moment he overcame suicidal thoughts and says there is always hope for anyone in a similar situation.
Leach says he "could not have asked for a better home to be raised in" but adds that even that wasn't enough to keep him free of depression. Raised as a Christian, he says it was when he began to question his faith that his depression really took hold.
He tells the You Rock Foundation: "I had one night in particular where I was ready, it was just total hopelessness. I had divine intervention, whatever you want to call it, it happened to me. Call it what you will, if you don't believe in God, call it intuition.
"I was watching the leaves fall off this tree and I felt like I was one of those leaves that just gave up. It was as if all this pain could be gone if I just did this. I scared myself because I had entertained the thought enough where I considered it.
"From that point on something happened and I went into survival mode. The thought that I could get up right now and do anything. That was the hope that came into my life." Read the rest of his comments here.
Lollapalooza Heading To Europe Next Summer
The Lollapalooza festival is now set to make its European debut next September when the inaugural Lollapalooza Berlin launches on the continent.
Berlin, Germany is the latest city added to Lollapalooza with versions of the festival taking place in Chile, Brazil and Argentina, as well as the flagship festival in Chicago.
Lollapalooza Berlin will be taking place at Tempelhof Airport on September 12th and 13th of 2015. Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell had the following to say, "I'm extremely excited to finally bring Lollapalooza across the pond to Europe.
"Berlin's energy, vibrant art, fashion and music scenes are a mirror reflection of what Lollapalooza is all about and I can't wait to share in this cultural exchange".
The 2015 Lollapalooza season will be kicking off on March 14th and 15th in Chili, followed Argentina on March 21st and 22nd. Lollapalooza Brazil will take place on March 28th and 29th and the U.S. installment will happen in Chicago on July 31st - August 2nd.
Eric Clapton Leads Tribute At Funeral Of Cream Bandmate Jack Bruce
(Radio.com) Cream bassist Jack Bruce was laid to rest on Wednesday (Nov. 5) with a rendition of the Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever," among others - led by former Cream bandmate Eric Clapton.
Western Morning News reports that the gathered, which also included former Cream drummer Ginger Baker, Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera, Vernon Reid of Living Colour and more, held a vigil that included breaking into the Beatles classic, plus Cat Stevens' "Morning Has Broken" and Bruce's own solo track "Theme from an Imaginary Western."
Additionally, "For Jack," a track Clapton wrote for his fallen bandmate after his death, was reportedly played on the speakers at the funeral. One of his bass guitars flanked the ceremony as remembrances came from Cream lyricist Pete Brown and from his wife and children, including a poem from son Corin.

Periphery Reveal Details For New Duel Albums
(TeamRock Radio) Prog-metal outfit Periphery have announced details of their next studio release. They'll launch dual albums Juggernaut: Alpha and Juggernaut: Omega on January 26 via Century Media Records.
The release is their first work since the Clear EP from January this year and their first-full length project since 2012's Periphery II: This Time It's Personal.
And drummer Matt Halpern reveals they're releasing both albums simultaneously so listeners can fully appreciate the complex storyline and musical themes.
He says: "Because Juggernaut is very detailed and dense in terms of character development, peaks and valleys, climaxes and resolutions, we've divided the story and music in two.
"Juggernaut: Alpha focuses on the back story and character development, while part two Juggernaut: Omega focuses on some pretty serious and gut-wrentching events, taking you for a thrill ride along the main character's complex journey." Read more here.
Paramore Taking Time With New Album Plans
(Radio.com) With Tennessee rockers Paramore enjoying the most successful album and single of the band's tumultuous career (last year's eponymous full-length and "Ain't It Fun," respectively), followed by the co-headlining Monumentour with Fall Out Boy, their legions of diehard fans are already chomping at the bit for new music.
The trio gamely addressed questions about their next album during a Radio.com interview backstage at this year's We Can Survive show at L.A.'s Hollywood Bowl, exchanging nervous smiles before tackling the issue.
"Our managers are probably asking us what's going on with the follow-up, too," joked bassist Jeremy Davis. "I feel like we're taking a little bit of time. I feel like our heads and bodies need a little bit of time to decompress after a long tour and just working this whole record. It's been crazy, but so important to have the down time.
"We've been home for a minute and all of us are kind of itching to get back out. But you know, it's good to have that space creatively just to travel and go somewhere new."
"And just to live. You have to have things to write about and to say," interjected flame-haired frontwoman Hayley Williams. "It's really important for us, anyway, because the songs are so personal. Jeff Lynne Admits Fear About Electric Light Orchestra Comeback Show
(Classic Rock) Electric Light Orchestra masterind Jeff Lynne admits he feared the audience for his first show in 28 years would get up and leave before the end. He won the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour gala event in Los Angeles last night, following ELO's performance at London's Hyde Park in September.
But Lynne tells the Guardian: "I was really worried before the show; I was thinking, 'What the hell is it going to be like after all these years?' I thought the crowd would all disperse and go their own sweet way - but they all loved it."
The one-off appearance came after a full month of rehearsals. "I started off on my own, practicing in my studio," he says. "I ran through the whole set twice a day just to get the feel again. You really have to get yourself back into it. Standing up playing guitar is the hardest thing - for the last 20 years I've been sitting down in the studio playing, so you have to learn all over again."

Peter Frampton Recalls Personal Connection To Lynyrd Skynyrd Disaster
(Classic Rock) Peter Frampton says he found out via TV that the stage crew he shared with Lynyrd Skynyrd were involved in the band's devastating plane crash in 1977.
The disaster claimed the lives of Skynyrd's lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gains, backing vocalist Cassie Gaines, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick and the plane's pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray. Other band members suffered serious injuries, including the band's stage crew.
Frampton tells Access Atlanta: "We are virtually joined at the hip in many ways. We used to play stadiums together. But I think what many people don't know is that we shared road crews.
"I was in LA when I turned on the TV and saw that the plane had gone down and that half of my crew were on it. Luckily, they survived but when you go through that, it's like you're blood brothers."

'Zetro' Returned to Exodus A Changed Man
(Classic Rock) Exodus frontman Steve 'Zetro' Souza says his 10 years away from the band made him a changed man. The singer returned to the metal icons for a third spell this year and features on new album Blood In, Blood Out. And he says he has learned from his previous mistakes since he split from the group in 2004.
"I think we respect each other's space a lot more, we respect each other as people much more. I know I do myself," Zetro tells Rock Brigade. "I was a certain way and these guys know how I was. And I've, in the last 10 years, tried to change that about myself, the way that I treat people. I've changed a lot.
"And I think that helps everything along. Because I'll be the first one to admit, I was a bear to deal with. That had to change. It was a lot on me, really. And I take responsibility for that as well."

Faith No More Were Reluctant To Record New Music
(Classic Rock) Faith No More bassist Billy Gould recalls the struggle to convince bandmates Mike Patton and Roddy Bottum that recording new material was a good idea.
The band reunited in 2009 as a live act, but there was no sign they would release a follow-up to 1997's Album Of The Year. Then this year they announced they were working on new music, with an album due out in 2015.
But Gould admits he feared it would never happen. Although he, guitarist Jon Hudson and drummer Mike Bordin were keen, frontman Patton and keyboard player Bottum were less receptive.
Gould tells Revolver: "There was a weird caginess they had where they didn't want to just jump in the ring. I started to think we were just doing this for ourselves. Then little by little, they warmed up to it and decided to contribute more."

Deicide Frontman Disappointed With Fan Violence
(TeamRock Radio) Deicide frontman Glen Benton reveals they've been left disappointed by the behavior of some fans in the past - and says he wants people to enjoy their shows without fear of violence.
He tells OC Weekly: "We've seen some crazy sh*t over the years - death metal pits can get crazy. We've seen fights and people overdoing aggression. We've had to barricade the dressing rooms and wait until things mellowed out. I don't know if I ever felt scared but I did feel a bit disappointed a few times. It's about fun, not violence.
"We just saw a kid split his head open after getting knocked out and we don't like it anytime anyone gets hurt at the shows - it's not a good thing. I'd rather see a kid go home smiling about the show rather than with stitches." here.
The Gentle Storm Reveal The Diary Art
(Prog) The Gentle Storm, the collaborative project between Arjen Lucassen and Anneke van Giersbergen, have unveiled the artwork for their album The Diary.
It was created by artist Alexandra V. Bach - and Lucassen reveals the finished work exceeded his expectations. He says: "I loved the front cover of the last Stream Of Passion album, so I tracked down the cover artist Alexandra V. Bach. I sent her some samples of The Gentle Storm music and explained the album concept.
"She made a mood board that captured the feel of the story and the music. We then gave her the go-ahead to design the cover. She did an amazing job that exceeded our expectations. It represents The Gentle Storm perfectly."

The Pineapple Thief Reveal Support Acts For Upcoming Tour
(Prog) The Pineapple Thief have announced five support acts for their upcoming tour. Osta Love, Alias Eye, Lesoir and A Liquid Landscape will join the band across mainland Europe, with London rockers Crystal Seagulls hooking up with group for the gigs in Islington, Bristol and Manchester. Support for their Edinburgh date has still to be confirmed.
The veteran prog outfit released their 10th studio album Magnolia in September and frontman Bruce Soord says while he was writing the record, his friend Steve Coe died suddenly - something that had a profound effect on his songwriting.
He tells Pop Matters: "A very good friend of mine, Steve Coe, passed away. I'd know him for about 10 years and he used to help me with production and songwriting. He was very excited about the progress The Pineapple Thief has made. He was coming to me with all of these ideas but then he died very suddenly." Read more and see the UK dates here.
Freedom To Glide Tackle Shellshock History With A Better Way
(Prog) Freedom To Glide have premiered their video for A Better Way via Prog - and they hope it makes a stark statement about the treatment of shellshock victims during the First World War.
It's taken from their EP Sick To Death, available now, which follows well-received debut album Rain. It continues Pete Riley and Andy Nixon's exploration of the lives of infantrymen in the 1914-18 conflict.
Nixon tells Prog: "Making of the EP and the video have both been incredibly moving. We knew what we wanted to say and we knew what we wanted to see - but we weren't prepared for what we'd feel when we edited the film."
The song was inspired during a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, where the pair found themselves speechless as they visited the monument to troops who were shot at dawn for cowardice instead of receiving treatment for the psychological results of warfare.
Riley says: "A lot of those who were executed were seasoned frontline seasoned men who just couldn't go on anymore. They'd given everything they had. They weren't cowards; they were suffering from shell shock, or post-traumatic stress disorder, as we now know it to be." Read more and watch the video here.
Soil Frontman Recovering From Stroke
(TeamRock Radio) Soil frontman Ryan McCombs is recovering in hospital after suffering a stroke this past weekend. McCombs - who also used to front Drowning Pool - says in a Facebook update that he is now able to eat for the first time since the stroke on Sunday night.
He appears to be in good spirits, thanking his girlfriend Izzi for her quick actions in getting him medical attention. McCombs says: "Just passed some tests that allowed me to have some food and water. First since Sunday."
His earlier post read: "I have been hospitalized after having a stroke in my sleep Sunday night. Thanks to Izzi making me go to the hospital Monday morning, we caught it before my stupid brain made too much of a mess of me." Read more here.
Queen May Record With Adam Lambert
(TeamRock Radio) Queen could take their association with Adam Lambert further and record music with him, says drummer Roger Taylor. Lambert, Taylor and May picked up the Band Of The Year Award at last night's Classic Rock Roll Of Honour gala event in Los Angeles.
The singer came second in US TV gameshow American Idol in 2009, and tied up with the remaining members of Queen two years later. They'll play seven shows in the UK in January.
"I think it would be great to do something, yeah," Queen's Roger Taylor tells Ultimate Classic Rock. "Not an album, probably. He's got his own stuff to do, and that's very much a priority for him.
"I think it would be very interesting, because his voice is so extraordinary and I think we could really do something great with it." Read more here.
Roxy Music Most Likely Over
(TeamRock Radio) Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera says the group's "job is done" and doesn't think they'll ever tour again. They split in 1983 and reformed in 2001 to celebrate their 30th anniversary, playing an extensive run of shows. They last hit the road in 2011 and Manzanera says those dates are probably the last they'll ever do together.
He tells Rolling Stone: "I don't think we're going to do any more shows - I think our job is done. When we stopped touring in 2011, saxophonist Andy Mackay and I looked at each other and said, 'Our job is done here.'
"Musicians like to do new things. It's unfortunate for the fans because they would like you to play the same old stuff forever. They go see it and they feel like, 'Man, they aren't as good as they used to be.' I'm very happy doing new things - I've got a couple of albums coming in the next year." here.
Sharon Osbourne Reveals Depression Battle
(TeamRock Radio) Sharon Osbourne has revealed she's been struggling with depression for 16 years. The wife and manager of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne was last night named VIP Of The Year at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour gala event in Los Angeles. Ozzy's debut solo release Blizzard Of Ozz won the Classic Album Award.
Sharon said during an edition of her TV chat show The Talk: "16 years I've been on medication. Some days are better than others. Some days you feel like you just want to pull the sheets over your head and not do a damn thing - except rot."
Meanwhile, husband Ozzy will also pick up the Global Icon gong at the MTV European Music Awards in Glasgow this weekend. He recently revealed Black Sabbath's next album and tour would be their last, and later added that drummer Bill Ward's potential return to the band would be down to Sharon.

AC/DC Album Launch Event Announced
(hennemusic) AC/DC will launch their new album, "Rock Or Bust", with a listening party for fans at The Rock in Sydney, Australia on November 23. "Rock Or Bust" will be issued in North American on December 2.
The Daily Advertiser reports Sony Music and Alberts will host the worldwide launch of AC\DC's 16th studio album at The Rock's market day at noon on the 23rd.
While the band will not be in attendance at the launch, the event provides those in attendance the chance to be the first in the world to listen to the new album ahead of its release in Australia on November 28.

Pink Floyd Star Accuses U2 Of Devaluing Music
(Radio.com) In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Pink Floyd's Nick Mason opens up on the band, new release The Endless River and his thoughts - since just about everyone seems to have them - on U2's much talked about album Songs of Innocence.
While talking about Pink Floyd's new album with Rolling Stone, Mason said that the band has been slightly aided by U2 with their release of Songs of Innocence, which was automatically available to every iTunes customer for free.
"They did it the wrong way around and I'm fond of saying that what we did is a very old fashioned musical concept," Mason told Rolling Stone. "We're hoping people might actually buy this record."
He went on to explain how U2 giving away their album for free was a surprise to everyone. "It was so unexpected, I thought, and interesting that people took such umbrage at being given something. That does devalue things," he said. "Music has been horribly devalued by being given away. It's funny they didn't sense some of that. It's been the big story of the 21st century, music being devalued."

Megadeth Launching Massive Online Auction
(hennemusic) Megadeth will part with decades of tour memorabilia during an online event next month, "Megadeth - The Countdown To Extinction Auction." From December 1-7, the band are teaming up with Backstage Auctions to provide an opportunity for fans and collectors around the world to own an authentic piece of memorabilia from the rock veterans.
"It simply doesn't get any more real and authentic than this," says Backstage Auctions founder Jacques van Gool, "especially with the collection coming directly from Megadeth."

Slipknot Did Not Write About Jordison On New Album
(TeamRock Radio) Corey Taylor has promised there's nothing written about Joey Jordison on the first Slipknot album without him - and says only "crazy people" will think otherwise.
The frontman has previously admitted .5: The Gray Chapter is the band's most personal record yet, dealing with the loss of bassist Paul Gray in 2010 and the members' struggle to deal with his death.
The first track to be revealed, The Negative One, was rumoured to be about drummer Jordison, who was fired in January after the parties "weren't able to work any more."
Taylor insists: "It's a little more blatant than people realise. Except for the songs that are very much about Paul, everything is either about me or about this band.
"There's nothing on there about Joey. I promise. But good luck convincing crazy people of that." Read more here.
U2 Plan Week-Long Residency On The Tonight Show
(hennemusic) U2 will perform a week-long residency on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. "U2 is coming back Monday, November 17, for an entire week," Fallon told viewers Monday night.
The band were last featured on Fallon's debut episode of The Tonight Show on February 17.The group will be on hand to promote their latest album, "Songs Of Innocence."
The project was recorded in Dublin, London, New York and Los Angeles and was produced by Danger Mouse, Paul Epworth, Ryan Tedder, Declan Gaffney and Flood.

Lamb Of God's Randy Blythe Reflects On Manslaughter Arrest
(TeamRock Radio) Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe has recalled the moment bassist John Campbell told him their problems in the Czech Republic were serious - and how he hoped the rest of the band would get out of the country as fast as possible.
And he's convinced he would have died if he hadn't returned to face trial, even though he could have avoided the ordeal if he'd wanted to. Blythe was arrested and charged with manslaughter in June 2012, following the death of fan Daniel Nosek after a Lamb Of God show two years earlier. He spent six weeks in prison, then went back to Prague after being bailed for a court case in which he was acquitted.
In an audience interview recorded at last week's Housecore Horror Film Festival in Texas, Blythe says: "I was getting off the plane with my guys and I saw this woman checking passports. She takes our passports and I notice she's directing me to the right, and to the left all the people we don't know.
"John is already in there. There's five dudes - big motherf***ers in face masks with machine guns, big knives and all sorts of sh*t. They looked like they were there to get Bin Laden. And there were three huge Eastern bloc muscle dudes, and a woman who turned out to be the head detective.
"I'm like, 'F***, there must have been someone awful on that plane.' I look at my bass player and start singing Kool And The Gang, 'There's a party going on right here.' and he's like, 'No, dude, there's no party. This is something bad.'"
Blythe was handed some paperwork and told to collect any prescription medication he might need for the coming days - but he still didn't know what was going on. "All I could tell was that a kid had died and I was being blamed for it," he says.

Static-X Guitarist Sad And Angry After Wayne Static's Death
(TeamRock Radio) Former Static-X guitarist Koichi Fukuda says he's been left "sad and angry" after the death of frontman Wayne Static. He'd hoped the pair could rekindle their friendship after the 2010 fall-out that led to the collapse of the original band.
Yesterday ex-bassist Tony Campos said he'd "held on to a sliver of hope" that he and Static could settle their differences, adding that the rest of the band felt the same way.
Now Fukuda confirms those sentiments, saying: "I'm still trying to process the sad fact that I've lost my dear old friend Wayne Richard Wells. He was an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind, very special person - and also a very gifted artist with a clear vision. On a personal level he was a smart, kind, caring sweetheart, and a soft-spoken gentleman. I really loved his dark, biting and sharp sense of humor.
"It makes me so sad and angry that I'll never have a chance to reconcile with him. I thought time was the only thing needed for all of us to realise what we had was so special." Read more here.
Gene Hoglan Talks Dark Angel's Reunion Music
(TeamRock Radio) Gene Hoglan has described the reunited Dark Angel's upcoming material as "super awesome and super dark" - and says it was "super fun" to write. The drummer is working on the band's fourth album following a 10-year break, with vocalist Ron Rinehart, guitarists Eric Meyer and Jim Durkin and bassist Michal 'Gonz' Gonzales. It will be their first studio release since 1991's Time Does Not Heal.
Hoglan tells Broken Neck Radio: "Right off the bat, it's been super fun - we're all interested and we're all into it.That's all it really needs. We want to write some songs, we want to put out a record, we want to go on the road and we want to see what happens. That was our attitude when we started playing some shows."
In the 23 years since their last release, Hoglan has played with artists including Testament, Viking and Strapping Young Lad. His most recent work was with Dethklok on their fourth album The Doomstar Requiem.

Pink Floyd Set Preorder Record
(Classic Rock) Pink Floyd's upcoming album The Endless River has become the most pre-ordered title in Amazon UK history. The retailer has received more advance sales for what David Gilmour has said will be their last work than previous record-holders One Direction.
Senior Amazon exec Steve Bernstein says: "It's an outstanding achievement for Pink Floyd, and it proves they remain one of the most popular groups to grace the UK music scene."
Gilmour recently explained The Endless River was a tribute to late keyboardist Rick Wright, saying: "With Rick gone - and with him, the chance of ever doing it again - it feels right that these revisited and reworked tracks should be made available as part of our repertoire."

36 Crazyfists Announce New Album and Stream New Song
(TeamRock Radio) 36 Crazyfists have signed with Spinefarm Records for the release of their 7th album Time And Trauma. The follow-up to 2012's Collisions And Castaways will launch in February 2015.
And to mark the announcement, they've released a stream of the track Also Am I. Time And Trauma is their first studio project with drummer Kyle Baltus, who joined the band in 2012. Mick Whitney makes his return on bass.

Rhythm And Blues Music Hall Of Fame Location Confirmed
(The Blues) The Official Rhythm And Blues Music Hall Of Fame is to be founded in Clarksdale, Mississippi, it's been confirmed. The decision was made after bosses considered basing the establishment in Detroit, Chicago, Nashville, Memphis and Jackson.
Now they'll set up the museum, library, 500-seat event room and juke-joint styled restaurant at a former bus depot in Clarksdale. Boss LaMont Robinson says:
"This area has been so important to the history of American music and global music culture that we felt it was the best place to enshrine and honour the legends of R&B."

Rob Reed Tributes Wicker Man's Willow's Song On New EP
(Prog) Magenta mastermind Rob Reed will release an EP on December 1 featuring a re-interpretation of Willow's Song from cult horror movie The Wicker Man.
He originally created the piece for acclaimed recent solo release Sanctuary, with vocals by Angharad Brinn, who worked on his award-winning Kompendium album Beneath The Waves. He decided it had no place on the full-length record, so instead it'll be launched alongside a reworking of folk song Scarborough Fair and four instrumental tracks.
Reed says: "I'm a huge fan of The Wicker Man and always loved Willow's Song - it's a really haunting piece and I always wanted to do my own version. As soon as Angharad sang it I knew it was something quite special."

(Prog) King Crimson mainman Robert Fripp is hoping to bring the latest lineup of the band to the UK in September 2015 - providing issues over venues can be resolved.
The seven-man lineup recently completed their first run of shows in the US, after he put industry wrangles behind him last year and reactivated his touring career.
Fripp tells the Telegraph: "I've discussed the possibility of working in Europe next year, including the UK in September. There are still problems to do with the quality of venues - but it's being looked into."
He recently revealed that the current lineup, featuring Mel Collins, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison, Jakko Jakszyk and Bill Rieflin, is the first with which he's genuinely enjoyed touring. Now he says: "It's the first Crimson where I don't sense any animosity or resentment from at least one member. This is a group from the get-go; the money is divided equally."

Wednesday 13 Reveals New Album Details
(TeamRock Radio) Wednesday 13 has released details of sixth solo album titled Monsters Of The Universe: Come Out & Plague. The follow-up to 2013's The Dixie Dead is set to be released on January 13 and will be available on both double vinyl and CD.
Both feature different artwork and it's the first concept album for the veteran frontman. It follows the release of the track Trick Or Treat… We're Going To Kill You which launched last week to tie in with Halloween.
13 said of the standalone track: "Since we're not performing anywhere this year, we decided we'd give you a brand-new Halloween song instead. It's here as a Horror-day exclusive." Check out the track details here.

Paul Stanley of KISS Debuting Customized Corvette At SEMA
(hennemusic) A 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray customized by KISS frontman Paul Stanley is making its debut at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas this week.
GM Authority reports Stanley selected the exterior scheme, which has a unique candy red hue offset with Midnight Glaze Silver paint on the roof, rear hatch, spoiler, outside mirrors, and front grille. He also helped select the quilted parchment leather seats and accents in the Jet Black cabin, plus the dark red accent stitching throughout.
"This car is undeniable in terms of its aesthetics," says Stanley. "And it is also a world-class piece of machinery." Power comes from the 6.2L V8 LT1 engine putting out 460 horsepower mated to GM's new eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission.

Foo Fighters Streaming New Song Outside
(hennemusic) The Foo Fighters are premiering "Outside" as the fourth track issued from their forthcoming album, "Sonic Highways", due November 10. The band recorded a performance of the track at London's Maida Vale Studios for the BBC while in town in September for a series of UK club shows and to headline the closing concert of the Invictus Games.
The BBC aired the new track on Radio 1′s Zane Lowe show on Thursday. The album version of "Outside" features Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh and was written and recorded in Joshua Tree, California.
"Sonic Highways" was recorded in eight American cities - Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
The Foos are unveiling new tunes each week in sync with their 8-part HBO series of the same name, which premiered October 17. Check out the new song here.
Billy Joel's Cover Of A Paul McCartney Classic Goes Online
(hennemusic) Billy Joel's version of Paul McCartney's classic, "Maybe I'm Amazed", is the latest full song preview issued from the forthcoming tribute album, "The Art Of McCartney."
The song originally appeared on McCartney's 1970 self-titled solo debut; the bassist wrote the tune in 1969 just prior to the end of The Beatles, and dedicated it to wife Linda for helping him get through the breakup of the world's biggest band.
Joel also covers McCartney's 1973 James Bond theme, "Live And Let Die", on the album, due November 17 (Nov 18 in North America). The project features a variety of artists joining the former Beatle's long time band to perform songs from the bassist's legendary songwriting catalog.
Guests include Alice Cooper, Roger Daltrey, Paul Rodgers, Def Leppard, Bob Dylan, The Cure, Brian Wilson, KISS and many more. Check out Billy Joel's cover here.
The Flaming Lips and Miley Cyrus Perform Beatles Classic On Conan
The Flaming Lips were joined by Miley Cyrus on Conan on Thursday night where they performed the Beatles classic "A Day in Life" from the Lips new album "With a Little Help From My Fwends" which reimagines songs from the Fab Four.
The Flaming Lips released their special guest filled Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band tribute album late last month. The album features special guest appearances from J. Mascis, Miley Cyrus, Tegan and Sara, Grace Potter, Moby and more.
The Oklahoma band and the former Disney star were on Conan's late night TBS talk show to promote the new album's release which will benefit charity.
The Flaming Lips revealed in the album release announcement that "all proceeds from sales of With A Little Help From My Fwends, will be donated to The Bella Foundation, a non-profit organization based in the band's hometown of Oklahoma City that assists low-income, elderly, or terminally ill pet owners with the cost of veterinary care."

Slayer Car Preview Video Released
(TeamRock Radio) Scion have released a video of their Slayer-inspired car which details some of the equipment that comes with the special-edition vehicle. The company, a division of Toyota, previously stated it would feature state of the art equipment to listen to music. Now they've revealed the car comes with guitar and mic inputs enabling people to make music on their travels.
The multimedia machine also features custom Marshall-themed enclosures, sword handle brake lever, a silver skull gearstick, Pioneer sound system, Marshall-themed seats and a backlit Slayer logo on the rear bumper. View the video below.
Guitarist Kerry King previously stated the car would enable the band to reach new audiences. He said: "Our fans are going to be excited when we reveal what a metal-inspired Scion tC looks like. Working with Scion has given us another way to reach new audiences and inspire them to keep going down their own paths."

A Day To Remember Release I'm Already Gone Video
A Day To Remember have released a new music video for the song "I'm Already Gone", which comes from their late 2013 studio album "Common Courtesy".
The Florida band's latest music video, the third released from the "Common Courtesy" album, was directed by Sitcom Soldiers and fans can view it online via Vevo here.
Fans across the pond will also be able to see the band live beginning next week when they kick off a UK tour on November 12th in Portsmouth at Guildhall. Five of the eight dates on the tour have already sold out.
A Day To Remember have also announced two appearances closer to home at two shows this December: DC101 Holiday Show in Fairfax, VA on December 5th and Wreck The Halls in Oklahoma City on December 7th. Check out the tour dates here.
Arch Enemy Release Live As The Pages Burn Video
Arch Enemy have released a new live video featuring their performance of "As The Pages Burn" at this year's Masters of Rock Festival that took place in the Czech Republic back in July.
You can watch the new performance video here and fans in North American will have the opportunity to see them in person as they are currently on a tour with Kreator and Huntress (plus Starkill on select dates).
Arch Enemy announced that they are offering a limited edition transparent red split 7" with Kreator (only 500 copies) at the North American shows that features their cover of the Judas Priest's classic "Breaking The Law" on side A and Kreator's "Iron Destiny" on side B. 30 Seconds To Mars Release Documentary Series Preview
(TeamRock Radio) 30 Seconds To Mars have released a trailer for their upcoming pay-per-view tour documentary series. Jared Leto's crew catalogued their Guinness world record-breaking Into The Wild tour which supported their 2009 album This Is War and lasted for more than two years.
The Into The Wild series premieres on November 30 on the VyRT service, with fans able to watch each episode individually or purchase a season pass or a VIP season pass. VIP access includes exclusive weekly bonus footage.
The tour took place during the period when the band were embroiled in a legal wrangle with their record label, as documented in the feature film Artifact.

"Black Widow is definitely the darker part of me," says frontwoman Maria Brink on the new full-length release. "This album is about finding the weakness inside and turning it into strength. It's about being reborn, setting yourself free and realising the balance in everything - the dark and the light."

Bryan Adams Looks Back At Reckless 30 Years Later
(Radio.com) For this edition of Single Again, Radio.com spoke to Bryan Adams, the best-selling Canadian artist of all time, about his 1984 breakthrough album Reckless, which spawned six charting singles, a feat only matched at the time by Michael Jackson's Thriller and Bruce Springsteen's Born in the U.S.A.. Reckless will be released in a 4-disc 30th anniversary edition on November 10.
Radio.com: How does it feel to reach the 30th anniversary of Reckless? Bryan Adams: Well, I've kind of already had one with Cuts Like a Knife and You Want It, You Got It and the first album, so this one was more significant in the sense that this album changed a lot. In that it got me out of the sh*tty clubs and into the better s-- clubs.
What was different about going into the studio to make Reckless than on the albums before it? I guess there was a perpetual motion that was happening for years before we made Reckless. We went on a lot of tours and it was just a treadmill of "tour, write, record, tour, write, record." I had a good team, good songs, Jim Vallance [Adams' co-writer] Bob Clearmountain [producer], a good band, pretty well-rehearsed. So we were all thinking the same thing at the same time about making a great record. The songs were all there, so there wasn't a reason why we weren't thinking about getting out of the clubs.
I was thinking of all the places in my setlist, 'I need a rocker here, a slow number here, something midtempo here and maybe something with a guitar solo here,' so I tailored my set full of songs I needed. I'd say, "Jim, I need a shuffle." So we'd sit down and write a shuffle. Sometimes a song was written to order-like "Heaven," which was written for a really crappy film [A Night in Heaven], I don't mind telling you, it was about a stripper-it was inspiring enough to create a good song. It doesn't matter where the inspiration comes from, if you've got a good one then it's worth going down that road.
What was it like to work with Tina Turner on "It's Only Love?" It was just the last couple weeks before we were finishing the record, and we heard she was coming to Vancouver. If you could imagine, she was the support act for Lionel Richie. And I sent the song to her manager, who said 'yeah, let's meet up when we get to Vancouver.' And we're backstage, a lot of people back there, and I hear this like, "Where is he? Where is he?" This big mane of hair coming down the hallway backstage at the Collosseum and she says "Brian, I love the song. I want to record it tomorrow." It was one of those moments like you're in a dust storm, and it goes away and you're like, wow, what happened. I said to Clearmountain just after she recorded and left, "Did you get that? Did you get that on tape? Let me hear that, man." I couldn't quite believe it actually. It was an interesting time, because she had just recorded Private Dancer but it wasn't out yet. She took me under her wing and next thing you know, we were on tour and we never looked back.

Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page Appears On Letterman
(hennemusic) Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page was a featured guest on The Late Show with David Letterman on Thursday. Page joined the host to discuss the re-release of his photographic autobiography, "Jimmy Page By Jimmy Page."
The book sold-out of its limited-edition run of 2,500 copies upon its initial release in 2010, becoming the fastest-selling book in Genesis Publications' 40-year history.
The guitarist was also on hand to promote the band's latest reissues, "Led Zeppelin IV" and "Houses Of The Holy." 1971's "IV" debuted at No. 7 on the US Billboard 200 album chart this past week, while "Houses" opened at No. 12.
The project did similar numbers in the band's native UK, with "IV" debuting at No. 6 and "Houses" at No. 14.
