Metallica Stream New Song 'Atlas, Rise,' Add New Tour Date(hennemusic)
Metallica have released a stream of their new song "Atlas, Rise!" from their forthcoming tenth album, "Hardwired…To Self Destruct," and have announced an additional date for their world tour.
The song follows the album's lead tracks "Hardwired" and "Moth Into Flame" as the third tune previewed ahead of the album's release on November 18.
"Less than three weeks now until all twelve new tracks from Hardwired…To Self-Destruct are cut loose for good," says the band, "and today we're proud to bring you the third and final sneak peek from the album, 'Atlas, Rise!'
"Hopefully, you will hear it on your local radio station and soon you can check out the video by Clark Eddy, our master editor and the unsung hero of the making-of-the-album 'behind the scenes' clips that have graced Metallica.com and Mission Metallica over the years."
In other Metallica news, they have added a show in Singapore to their January 2017 dates in Asia as they tour in support of their tenth album, "Hardwired…To Self Destruct"
"Greetings from Latin America and the first leg of many World Wired tour dates to come over the next few years!," says the band. "As you may have already seen, we are kicking off 2017 with a visit to our friends in Asia and we're psyched that the latest addition to that run of the tour is Singapore at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on January 22, 2017.

Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder Sings At World Series Game(hennemusic)
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder rocked Wrigley Field with a performance of "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch at Game 5 of the 2016 World Series between the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs.
"Hey Chicago, look at this, look at you," Vedder told the crowd. "Wrigleyville is full, it's October 30 and there's baseball at Wrigley Field for the first time in history. I know we want to thank Theo [Epstein] and Tom [Ricketts] and Joe [Maddon] and the team and bringing the World Series to Wrigley Field 2016.
"There's one guy in particular I want to sing my ass for and he's No. 3 behind the plate. He may retire but he'll never quit. Mr. David Ross, I want to belt this one out for you. It's his last game at Wrigley. Let's sing it for him. Let's sing it with Harry [Caray]."
The Pearl Jam singer performed "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" alongside video of a version by the late legendary Cubs broadcast Harry Caray. Lifelong Cubs fan and frequent Wrigley Field attendee Vedder grew up in the Chicago suburb of Evanston, IL before the family moved to San Diego, CA in his teens. Watch video of the performance here.
Slash Claims Marriage To Perla Ferrar Was Not Legal(hennemusic)
Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash (real name Saul Hudson) claims his marriage to Perla Ferrar was not legal because she was still technically wed to another man, according to an update on the couple's divorce case by gossip site TMZ.
The British-born rocker and Perla tied the knot in Hawaii in 2001 after her previous one-month marriage to Carlos Marty ended in 1993. The music couple had two children: London in 2002 and Cash in 2004.
The Hudsons discovered years later that Ferrar's divorce to Marty was not finalized properly when the pair applied for US/UK dual citizenship for their son Cash.
Perla claims the couple hired a lawyer in 2009 and had a judge finalize her divorce from Marty retroactive to 1994. Read more here.
Of Mice & Men's Austin Carlile Undergoes Second Surgery(Metal Hammer)
Of Mice & Men frontman Austin Carlile has checked in from hospital to update fans on his ongoing health battle. The vocalist was admitted to hospital earlier this month to undergo a procedure to fix a tear in his spine, which came after he had life-changing heart surgery following complications from the genetic disorder, Marfans last year.
Carlile has now had a second surgery, and reports that it went well. He says on Instagram: "Second operation the fix the multiple tears/leaks in my spine was gnarly yesterday, but ultimately successful. Was even able to walk a bit today… stoked!"
Carlile was baptised earlier this year, and he says his faith is helping him through this difficult period in his life. The singer adds: "God is good and all your prayers are definitely working. He is definitely working immensely in my life right now as well, and I've never felt so close to Him." here.
David Bowie Bandmate Slams Lady Gaga's Grammy Tribute(Classic Rock)
The former drummer for David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars band has branded Lady Gaga's Grammys tribute to the late singer "tacky."
Mick 'Woody' Woodmansey performed with the band from 1970 until 1973. He says he and producer Tony Visconti, who worked together on a tribute to Bowie's 1970 classic The Man Who Sold The World, declined the opportunity to appear with Gaga at the awards ceremony in February.
Woodmansey tells NME: "We were actually asked to do that, we were on tour at the time. They asked Tony and myself would we do it, and we looked at it and it was going to be like 14 or 15 songs in the space of four minutes, and we just went 'no, f*** off". That's stupid, that's not going to represent anything good about him.
"I haven't seen many things that do represent it properly. It's nice that many want to do that, it's a great thing, but quality wise, there hasn't been many."
He adds: "It was just, 'why are you doing it?' If there's a genuine heartfelt thing that you wanna do out of respect, then you'd probably pull it off. But if there's any other reason, it just gets tacky, and obviously you can't stop that, they have a right to do it as they want to do it. But it doesn't help a lot, it doesn't do a lot." Richie Sambora Exit Gave Bon Jovi 'New Life' Says Band Member(Classic Rock)
Bon Jovi keyboard player David Bryan says the departure of guitarist Richie Sambora has given the band "new life." The band release their first full studio album since Sambora's departure - This House Is Not For Sale - on November 4. And Bryan insists the addition of Phil X, as well as their continued collaboration with producer and guitarist John Shanks, has kept the spark alive in the studio.
Bryan tells Antihero: "It's a different thing, but there's new life, and I think when you have new people, you have new energy. And, of course, the creative process, the way we've worked together, is working with each other in the room. And if everybody's on the same page, it makes beautiful music.
"Of course we had some wonderful years with Richie, but if he wants to move on in his direction, it's one of those things that you can't avoid. And we carry on, because the premise of this record is the roots and the fact that we're still together and strong and love playing music together." Read more here.
Former Wildhearts Star Has Leg Amputated(TeamRock)
Former Wildhearts bassist Danny McCormack says he hopes to be back onstage by December after having his leg amputated. McCormack suffered an aneurysm last year and complications on the back of that have lead to his leg being amputated below the knee.
His band The Main Grains are due to support The Wildhearts in December, with McCormack hoping to be involved. He says: "Hi guys, as you all know I've been in hospital for some time now.
"Unfortunately the doctors have done everything they could, but after the aneurysm, the blood supply was compromised to my leg which has resulted in a below the knee amputation. I'm in physio at the moment and I'm in great spirits and look forward to seeing you all in December." Read more here.
Disturbed Go Virtual Reality For 'The Sound Of Silence'(WBR)
Disturbed has released a new virtual reality experience for their hit version of the Simon and Garfunkel classic "The Sound of Silence". We were sent the following details:
The video was produced by Dekker Dreyer of Clever Fox, and was directed by Matt Mahurin, who also direct the official video for the single. Mahurin had the following to say:
"It was a thrill and a challenge (and maybe a bit ironic) to use the innovative and immersive world of VR to explore the disconnect of direct human connection that results from the addictive world of social media." Read more here.
Messenger Confirm That They Have Broken Up(Prog)
Messenger have confirmed that they have split up. There's been speculation surrounding the band's future since the summer, when they were forced to pull out of a planned appearance at the TeamRock-sponsored Stone Free festival in London due to "unforeseen circumstances."
Now they've confirmed that, after "much deliberation" they've decided to call it a day. The band say in a statement: "It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that this musical voyage has come to an end.
"We've collectively had many messages about our status and why we've had to cancel festival appearances and tours recently - and after much deliberation, we've decided that this decision is the right one."
They thank fans for their support and add: "Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine we would share stages with some of the biggest and best bands in the genre of progressive rock all over the world, win awards and release two albums to critical acclaim." Read more here.
Asking Alexandria Release Live Video From Danny Worsnop's Return(Metal Hammer)
Asking Alexandria have released a live video featuring their returned vocalist Danny Worsnop. The clip shows the vocalist singing "Not The American Average" at a show on their 10 Years In The Black tour. It follows recently released footage of his first comeback show with Asking Alexandria in Seattle earlier this week.
Worsnop's comeback was confirmed at the weekend - following a breakdown in relations with Worsnop's replacement Denis Stoff, who'd joined in 2015.
Asking Alexandria's Seattle setlist excluded all songs from latest album The Black - their only record featuring the Ukrainian musician. Fans on social media have commented on the fact that nothing from The Black was performed and that a number of tracks not played live in years were included.
Guitarist Ben Bruce claimed that Stoff had "just stopped talking" to the band - but the singer hit back later, saying: "I left AA because I can't be in a touring band at this point in my life. There's no drama and I don't want to be a part of it."
The band recently said that they'd already begun recording new music with Worsnop - with guitarist Ben Bruce's Kill It With Fire colleague Matt Good at the helm. Read more and watch the video here.
Armored Saint Joey Vera's Stolen Bass Found On eBay(Classic Rock)
Armored Saint bassist Joey Vera has been reunited with a bass guitar that was stolen from him 18 months ago. The white ESP V4 bass was stolen in February of last year, along with a 1979 Gibson Les Paul guitar. And after months of trying to track it down, Vera resigned himself to the likelihood that he'd never see it again.
But earlier this month a fan got in touch to say he'd seen what looked like the bass for sale on eBay. Vera says: "We filed police reports, searched local pawn shops, Craigslist, eBay etc for several months. But soon after we had to come to grips that these two guitars were gone forever.
"Then on October 4 of this year, just before I left for Japan to play a gig with Armored Saint, I got a message from a fan, William Wells, saying that he was about to bid on a bass he found on eBay.
"He really liked the bass and was about to bid when his memory recalled a similar bass in a post that I has posted back in February of 2015. After looking up that old post, he realised that it might be the same bass. He sent me the message along with the eBay posting ID, and sure enough after taking a close look at it, it knew it was my bass." Read more here.
Avenged Sevenfold's M Shadows Explains The Stage Video Concept(Classic Rock)
Avenged Sevenfold's M Shadows has described the "humanistic" message behind their video for The Stage. Lifted from their album of the same name, the promo features a puppet show illustrating war and persecution throughout history, from prehistoric times and medieval witch-hunting through to the first and second world wars. The vocalist suggests that the human race has failed to learn from its bloody history.
He tells OC Register: "The video alludes to somebody watching over us, watching us kill each other over senseless things and not understanding each other. As soon as it gets to a certain point there's a push of a button and the simulation starts over, like we can't figure it out and that's more of a humanistic view, like why can't we just treat each other better?
"We're all here and we just do the same things to each other over and over, whether it's dropping bombs on each other or beating each other with sticks. That's what it's really about. It's not meant to be a political endorsement of any candidate or whatever else people want to talk about in YouTube comments." Read more and watch the video here.
Crowbar Release 'Falling While Rising' Video
Crowbar have released a new video for their track "Falling While Rising". The song comes from the group's brand new studio album "The Serpent Only Lies."
Frontman Kirk Windstein had this to say about the new record, which hit stores this past Friday (October 28th), "We are so excited about our 11th studio record! The Serpent Only Lies is a powerful follow up."
"The Falling While Rising" music video was directed by (Ace Frehley, Black Label Society), and has been premiered on YouTube. Watch the new clip here.
The band also announced that they will be promoting the new album by embarking on a coheadlining tour with Goatwhore. The U.S. trek will be kicking off on December 2nd in Little Rock, AR. See the dates here.
Upon A Burning Body Release Fresh Prince Themed Video(Metal Hammer)
Upon A Burning Body have released a video for their track B.M.F. The video was shot in the style of hit 90s sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, which starred rapper Will Smith and helped launch his career as an actor.
In the video, the camera zooms in on frontman Danny Leal to reveal his Fresh Prince tattoo on his arm. The singer has previously revealed his love of the show, posting a picture of himself wearing a Bel-Air Academy basketball top on Twitter.
B.M.F. features on Upon A Burning Body's fourth album Straight From The Barrio, which was released last week via Sumerian Records. Leal previously said of the album: "The thing that we really need to do is solidify that Upon A Burning Body sound. We have a ton of ideas on the way. We'll put together a smash, we have no doubt." Korn's 'Serenity Of Suffering' Album Artwork Explained(Metal Hammer)
Artist Ron English has shed light on his vision for Korn's Serenity Of Suffering album artwork. He says his image of a young boy walking into a carnival, while holding the doll which features on the cover of their 1999 album Issues, represents his "resurrection" from his traumatic childhood past.
In a post shared by guitarist Munky, English says: "The boy is pulling the Issues doll out from a pile of abandoned toys at the edge of the midway as he heads into the thick of the carnival.
"The underlying theme is resurrection, a boy reclaiming power over his childhood trauma, creating a new narrative to reckon with the demons that damaged him.
"He is reanimating the doll as himself, and whatever cowed him as a child will be absorbed and deflected through the doll." Read more here.
Enter Shikari Push Back Release Of New Live Album(Metal Hammer)
Enter Shikari say the launch of their Live At Alexandra Palace album will be delayed until November 18. Originally slated for release on November 4, the record will be the sixth installment of the UK outfit's Bootleg Series - showcasing their sold-out performance in February at the London venue.
But the St Albans outfit blame "unavoidable" manufacturing delays for the push-back - and have now released track Torn Apart on Spotify to bridge the gap.
They say: "Sorry guys, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we have had to put the release of Live At Alexandra Palace back until November 18 - due to unavoidable delays at the manufacturing end.
"It's not just our release that's been affected. Some of us are sitting here bemoaning the delay in the Stranger Things soundtrack vinyl too, for example.
"The one upside of this, is that it means we have an extra week or so of pre-orders, which means we can keep the window open for people getting the autographed copies of the album as we can't get them signed until they turn up, of course." Read more and stream the track here.
Raging Speedhorn Release 'Bring Out Your Dead' Video(Metal Hammer)
Raging Speedhorn have released a video for their new single "Bring Out Your Dead". The song comes from the band's latest album Lost Ritual, which was released earlier this year. The follow-up to 2007's Before The Sea was made possible thanks to a successful Pledge Music campaign.
The video for Bring Out Your Dead features footage shot during the band's appearance at this year's Download festival. Raging Speedhorn support Skindred on select dates on their upcoming UK tour, which kicks off tonight (October 31).
Guitarist Jim Palmer says: "We've known those guys for years, Benji longer because of Dub War. We are really happy to be able to go out and play these shows with them, it's going to be so much fun.
"Skindred have grown into such an incredible band so it's an honour to be asked to do this. It'll be like stepping right back to those days in the early 2000s when we last shared a stage. Bring on the party!" Watch the video here.
Sepultura 'I Am The Enemy' Live Video Goes Online(Metal Hammer)
Sepultura played their new track I Am The Enemy at Salvador's Rock Concha over the weekend. Video footage of the set, including the song from upcoming 14th album Machine Messiah, can be seen online.
Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser recently revealed the follow-up to 2013's The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart was "inspired by the robotisation of our society."
He added: "The concept of a 'God Machine' who created humanity and now it seems that this cycle is closing itself, returning to the starting point.
"We came from machines and we are going back to where we came from. The messiah, when he returns, will be a robot, or a humanoid, our bio-mechanical savior."
As for the album, which will be released on January 13 via Nuclear Blast, Kisser reported: "I'm very happy with everything about Machine Messiah. It is a Sepultura album but with a new direction and intensity, a new musical challenge, a step forward." Read more and watch the video clip
