AC/DC Complete New Album
AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson has revealed that the band has completed work on their new studio album and that he wanted an unusual name for the effort.

Johnson broke the news to TeamRock before a ceremony on Wednesday in Northumbria, where he was on hand to receive an honorary doctorate degree.

The band recorded the album in Vancouver and Johnson says, "It was brilliant over there. We're done. I'm very excited and we've got some great songs."

He also revealed that he "wanted to call the album Man Down. in reference to rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young who has been forced to take a leave from the band due to health issues. He adds, "But it's a bit negative and it was probably just straight from the heart. I like that."

Courtney Love Joining Cast of Sons of Anarchy
Hole frontwoman Courtney Love is returning to acting with news that she has been cast for recurring role on the upcoming final season of "Sons of Anarchy".

Love isn't the only music figure that will appear in the show's seventh season. It was earlier announced that Marilyn Manson will be joining the cast.

Courtney will first appear in the fourth episode of the season and will be playing the role of Ms. Harrison, a preschool teacher for the main character Jax's oldest song Abel, according to E!





Mike Portnoy Slams New Pink Floyd Album As Disrespectful
(Prog) Mike Portnoy has slammed news of a first Pink Floyd album in 20-years as "disrespectful". The former Dream Theater and current The Winery Dogs drummer is a self-proclaimed Floyd fanatic and he took to his official Facebook page to hit out at the news that Floyd will release new album The Endless River in October.

He says: "What's this about a new Pink Floyd album? Last I checked, Waters is no longer in the band and Wright and Barrett are dead. If these are leftovers from The Division Bell sessions, then just put them on a The Division Bell special-edition release.

"It's disrespectful to Roger and everything he built for all those years. Just do a solo album, Dave. In my opinion, the Pink Floyd heyday was Atom Heart Mother through The Wall, and those were mainly driven by Roger - conceptually, musically, everything." more on this story




Rolling Stones Planning a Museum?
(Gibson) Last week when the Rolling Stones visited Sweden for a stop on their 14 On Fire tour, Mick Jagger visited the ABBA museum in Stockholm. Jagger reportedly spent about 45 minutes being treated to a personal tour of the museum, which includes memorabilia like old stage costumes, and photographs. Jagger also got to take a look at the museum's "stage" where visitors can participate in ABBA karaoke together with holograms of the band.

But the visit wasn't purely for the frontmans entertainment. Jagger and his band mates are reportedly looking in to the possibility of opening a similar museum for the Rolling Stones in London.

"I had heard he wanted to build a similar thing in London. That is why he wanted to come here and look. He is planning a Rolling Stones museum," said former ABBA member Bjorn Ulvaeus about Jagger's visit according to the Daily Star. "It was an inspirational visit. Mick has saved lots of clothes which they can display," Ulvaeus continued.

The Rolling Stones wrapped up their European tour with a gig at Denmark's Roskilde Festival on July 3. Next up for the band is a tour of Australia and New Zealand in October and November, to make up for shows that were postponed in the spring following the suicide of Jagger's longtime partner L'Wren Scott. more on this story







Deep Purple Reveal North American Tour Plans
Deep Purple had big news for North American fans on Tuesday. The band announced they will be launching a summer headlining tour of the U.S. and Canada next month.

The band will be kicking off the month long trek on August 4th at the Talking Stick Casino in Scottsdale, AZ and wrapping up the tour on August 31st in Hollywood, FL at the Seminole Hard Rock Live Arena.

The legendary band are hitting the road in support of their latest studio album, "NOW What?!" which was released in April of last year. The band announced that they will be releasing a new radio single, "All The Time In The World," to celebrate the new tour. more on this story





Judas Priest Reveal Story Behind New Album Redeemer Of Souls
(hennemusic) Judas Priest are revealing the story behind the making of their brand new studio album, "Redeemer Of Souls", in a newly-released online video package.

In stores this week, the project marks guitarist Richie Faulkner's studio debut with Priest; he replaced founding member K.K. Downing following his retirement in 2011.

"We just were ready to get the metal roaring again," explains frontman Rob Halford, "and to make concise, strong songs of character that collectively would come together and be a very grand statement that the Priest is back in that world of classic metal that we wanted to reinforce again."

Don Henley In The Studio For The End Of The Innocence Anniversary
The latest episode of the North American syndicated radio show In The Studio: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Albums celebrates the 25th anniversary of Eagles legend Don Henley's third solo album, The End Of The Innocence. The show sent over these details:

When the Eagles flew the coop in 1981, the members went their own ways for thirteen long years. Don Henley released his first solo album I Can't Stand Still in 1982 with the hit "Dirty Laundry", and then in 1984 he released Building the Perfect Beast which would go on to sell more than 4 million copies while garnering a Grammy Award.

Don Henley was not quick to repeat that success, waiting a full five years before releasing, The End of the Innocence in the Summer of 1989, an album written in search of heroes and coming to grips with imperfect relationships. The album would score three Top 40 hits, "The Last Worthless Evening", "The Heart of the Matter" and the title track "The End of the Innocence", selling over six million domestically while winning another Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance.

Don Henley shares with InTheStudio host Redbeard the difference between being in a group and being a solo artist. "In a group like the Eagles you have to bow to the group as a whole...Now I'm totally responsible for everything that's on that record. In a way that's frightening, but on the other hand it's very freeing. I can do whatever I want and I don't mind taking the rap for it. Alice in Chains Singer Turns Filmmaker
(Classic Rock) Alice in Chains singer William DuVall is switching his focus from fronting the grunge icons to making movies. DuVall reveals that he is working on two documentaries as a producer.

He tells TeamRock Radio: "One is about the Atlanta hardcore scene. I was first generation and a part of that when it all started. The film sort of compares and contrasts the scene now and in its earliest days, what we went through with the whole overwhelming sense from society at large that this is wrong and our children have gone crazy. What are their struggles now with the internet and punk being assimilated into mass culture. It's an interesting thing they face.

"The other is on the jazz musician Milford Graves. One of the greatest musicians ever but what really makes him interesting beyond that is his scientific work. The guy does amazing cutting edge cardiac research work as exciting and potentially game-changing as any research you could ever hear about going on in that field. People are just starting to wake up to what he's doing. He approaches science like a musician and in a way no one else does."

Linkin Park Reveal European Tour Plans
(hennemusic) Linkin Park have announced that they will be launching a European tour with openers Of Mice And Men this fall in support of their latest album, "The Hunting Party."

The 3-week, 15-date run will be kicking off on November 3 in Zurich, Switzerland at Hallenstadion, with shows wrapping up November 23 in London.

Linkin Park will launch The Hunting Party Tour in North America on August 8 in West Palm Beach, Florida, with Thirty Seconds To Mars on the bill. more on this story





Journey's Jonathan Cain Reacts To Steve Perry's Live Return
(hennemusic) Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain is sharing his thoughts on former bandmate Steve Perry's recent return to the live stage after a 20-year absence.

In the past couple of months, Perry teamed up with alternative rock band EELS to sing some Journey classics at shows in St. Paul, Minnesota, Washington, DC and Los Angeles, creating a major buzz and fueling speculation that he and Journey may reconnect.

"I think it's great that he broke the ice and went out with the Eels and performed," Cain tells writer Michael Cavacini in a new interview. "I think it needed to happen. You get a monkey off your back. You get out in front of the people and feel what that feels like. I'm very happen for him that he has embraced this concept of, "This is who I am today and I don't sing like I used to sing." I think he'll enjoy it and embrace it."

"He deserves to be out there on stage," he continued. "I think it's wonderful. I could never understand why he seemed to be in recluse mode, hiding away somewhere. Comeback Kid Avoid Tempting Bandwagons
(Classic Rock) Comeback Kid lead guitarist Jeremy Hiebert says avoiding the temptation to jump on trends has helped his band avoid the pitfalls of some of their contemporaries.

Ahead of the band's appearance on the Bohemia Stage at Sonisphere today, Hiebert tells TeamRock Radio: "For us it is not jumping on trend and following what is flavour of the month. You see those bands headlining big venues and then they're never seen two or three years later.

"But we try not to jump on them, although it can be tempting when you see them doing so well for a while. We like to do what we do and do it as well as we can rather than what is the cool thing just now." more on this story





Bruce Dickinson Explains Why Iron Maiden Avoid Hyde Park
(Classic Rock) Bruce Dickinson reckons Iron Maiden are too loud to play at London's Hyde Park and has slammed the capital's noise laws. Maiden headlined Sonisphere on the same weekend Black Sabbath were performing at Hyde Park - and Dickinson says he knows where he'd rather be.

"Knebworth and Donington are great. They let you make a racket which is all the fans want to hear," Dickinson tells the Daily Star. "We considered playing Hyde Park again.

"The thought of filling central London with Iron Maiden fans is brilliant. However, the noise restrictions at Hyde Park are so silly. If somebody has a loud conversation you have to shush them." more on this story





Sebastian Bach Compares His Drinking To Monopoly
(Classic Rock) Sebastian Bach says he is living a teetotal lifestyle after 25 years of drinking "every night". The former Skid Row frontman has compared drinking to the board game Monopoly - saying it landed him in trouble on too many occasions.

Bach tells Mike James Rock Show: "I know this is gonna come as a shock to the continent of Europe, but I don't drink anymore. I'm not exactly straight-edge, but I don't drink alcohol. I might have a smoke once in awhile, but I don't drink.

"You know the game Monopoly? Do not pass 'go' - do not collect $200, go straight to jail? That's what drinking is for me. I just get pretty crazy on it, and I don't know when to stop. Some people can be social and have a drink now and then. When I start drinking, I don't know when to stop. more on this story





Gojira Planning Next Album
(Prog) Gojira will head into the studio to record their sixth album after a winter tour with Mastodon. Full details of the tour have yet to be announced, but it is set to kick off in October.

After their Apollo Stage appearance at Sonisphere earlier this week, Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier tells TeamRock Radio: "We are working on new songs these days, between tours and sometimes on tour. We can't wait to record a new album.

"So we still have a few shows to play then we are going to tour with Mastodon later this year, in October. But after that we are going straight into the studio and we want to release an album next year."

Crucified Barbara Releasing New Album in September
(Classic Rock) Crucified Barbara have confirmed they will release their fourth studio album in September. And the all-girl rockers have unveiled the artwork for the album.

In The Red was recorded at Music A Matic studio in Gothenburg with producer Chips Kiesby and engineer Henryk Lip, and band says "This album is the best thing we've ever done musically"

"We've been jamming ourselves bloody and let our emotions flow prior to recording," they said in a statement. A video for the track To Kill A Man can be viewed here.





Metallica Release Live Welcome Home (Sanitarium) Video
(hennemusic) Metallica performed the "Master Of Puppets" classic "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" as part of the summer-long Rock In Rome festival in Italy on July 1st, and the band are now sharing video from the event.

The footage also includes the band warming up in the tuning room, as well as "Blackened" from the show. Metallica were joined by Volbeat and Alice In Chains at the show, one of 20 such summer concerts in the Italian capital.

1986's "Master Of Puppets" was the band's third album and final one with bassist Cliff Burton, who died tragically in a tour bus accident in Sweden in September of that year.

Motley Crue Preview New Song 'All Bad Things' In Online Video
(Radio.com) Motley Crue has been quite adamant that they will be retiring as a band after next year - going so far as having all four members sign a formal "Cessation of Touring Agreement" effective at the end of 2015.

However, they're still adding to their discography. On Monday, the posted a sizzle reel of the opening of the tour to their YouTube page, giving fans a minute long preview of the band's latest song, "All Bad Things."

Seemingly an autobiographical track, Vince Neil seems to summarize the band's lack of critical acclaim and occasional infighting, wailing, "We were the bottom of the food chain! We never said we loved each other at all!"

The track itself is classic Crue, with a crunch reminiscent of their 1987 album Girls! Girls! Girls! Watch the sizzle reel here.





Singled Out: Marco Minnemann's OC DC
Today Marco Minnemann (Steven Wilson, Joe Satriani, the Aristocrats, Levin Minnemann Rudesstells) tells us about the song "OC DC" from his brand new solo album "EEPS". Here is the story:

The story behind OC DC is sort of funny. I was toying around with completely detuned instruments. I just had this thought in my head, to do something completely out of tune but with composed timing. So I wanted to pick the instruments in my collection that were definitely easy to f*** up totally and then put them into a composed structure. And I have this one 12 string electric guitar, which is especially easy to detune, haha.

So here we go, I played an organized drum track, with having the message and parts of the song in mind. Then I overdubbed the 12 string guitar, an out of tune bass and the keyboards, which I played with a slightly shifted pitch wheel as well :-). The goal was to really not pay attention to any chords or tonality in relation to each instrument.

So after that 'organized' chaos was captured as a recording, I thought about what lyrical topic to pick.. So I decided to pick pretty much the opposite topic of the musical, and tonal 'imperfect' concept, and wrote about OCD mannerisms, calling the song OC/DC.

Man, during the recordings I was laughing my ass off. Then the next step was to present that out and odd piece to Scott Schorr, label manager/co-producer of the EEPS album. And well, I honestly gave that track a 50/50 chance to make it on the album.

I thought that maybe I'm going to get a response like, "what the f*** is that... Are you kidding me?...". But Scott called back immediately and seemed completely stoked about it. He basically said that he never heard anything like that and thinks we should make this the single and that he can't stop listening to it. So here we go....OC/DC, a truly 'different animal', isn't it ;-)).

Pink Floyd Releasing First New Album In 20 Years
(hennemusic) Pink Floyd are set to release their first new album in 20 years this fall. Guitarist David Gilmour's wife and Floyd lyricist Polly Samson broke the news on Twitter on Saturday.

Samson posted the following tweet, "Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called 'The Endless River'. Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright's swansong and very beautiful."

The project marks the group's first release since 1994's "The Division Bell." Keyboardist Wright died from cancer in 2008 at the age of 65. The news follows reports this spring that Gilmour was in the studio working on a new solo album, which backup singer Durga McBroom-Hudson now reveals was for the new Floyd album.

"The recording did start during The Division Bell sessions (and yes, it was the side project originally titled 'The Big Spliff' that [drummer] Nick Mason spoke about)," she wrote. "Which is why there are Richard Wright tracks on it. But David and Nick have gone in and done a lot more since then."

"It was originally to be a completely instrumental recording, but I came in last December and sang on a few tracks," she added. "David then expanded on my backing vocals and has done a lead on at least one of them." Read more and see a photo from that session here.




Slipknot Finish Recording New Album, Announce Knotfest
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has revealed to Full Metal Jackie that the band has completed recording their new studio album, which will be their first release since 2008's "All Hope Is Gone" and the band announced the details for Knotfest.

Taylor said, "The album is done. Oh yes. I'd say 98 percent done. I'm in the process of heading to the studio to give a listen, see if there's anything we need to touch up. But yeah, it is very close.

"The next step is the mix, and we're going to try to get it out very soon. There will be big announcements soon. Big things to hear, soon. That's really all I can say about it.

"I know we're anything, if not diligent to our plan. The plan is to just slowly but surely get people to lose their minds for the next couple of months with just little stuff here and there leaked."

The band revealed that they will be staging Knotfest this fall in California and also in Japan. The U.S. festival will be taking place on October 24-26 in San Bernardino, Ca with Slipknot headlining Saturday and Sunday with different sets.

Slipknot will be joined by Danzig, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Killswitch Engage, Anthrax, Black Label Society, Tech N9ne, Testament, In This Moment, Hatebreed, Hellyeah, Atreyu, The Devil Wears Prada and more.

Knotfest Japan will be taking place on November 15th and 16th and will feature Korn, Limp Bizkit, Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch and more. More details here.

Gregg Allman Biopic Filmmakers Indicted for Involuntary Manslaughter
Three filmmakers that were involved in the Gregg Allman biopic, Midnight Rider, have been indicted for involuntary manslaughter and criminal trespass, following the death of a crew member during filming in February.

Filmmakers Randall Miller, Jody Savin and Jay Sedrish were all charged in Georgia's Wayne County Superior Court on Thursday, July 3rd over an accident which left seven crew members injured and 27-year-old camera assistant Sarah Jones dead.

Filming of a dream sequence for the movie was underway on train tracks in Doctortown Landing, Georgia when a train unexpectedly crossed a trestle bridge, causing the fatality and the injuries and the producers of the film reportedly had not secured permission to film on the tracks, according to media reports.

ABC reports that a grand jury impaneled last Wednesday returned an indictment against the married couple Miller and Savin, who own the company that was producing the film, and Sedrish, who was an executive producer and unit production manager.

Machine Head and Former Member Settle Lawsuit
Machine Head revealed late last week that they have settled the lawsuit that was filed by their former bass player Adam Duce. The band issued a statement about the settlement but did not disclose the terms of the agreement.

The band issued the following message to fans on their Facebook page on Thursday (July 3rd), "A $1.8 million dollar litigation suit filed against heavy metal recording artist Machine Head, manager Joseph Huston, record label Nuclear Blast, and current-bassist Jared MacEachern by former-Machine Head bassist Adam Duce was settled yesterday in San Francisco, CA. The terms of the deal will remain confidential but both sides were able to reach a satisfactory agreement.

"All claims in the dispute have been dropped against all parties named including but not limited to the $800,000 dollar suit against the band for breach of fiduciary duty and interference with prospective economic advantage, as well as the bizarre $1,000,000 dollar defamation suit against singer / guitarist Robb Flynn regarding a blog the guitarist posted.

"It was mediated by Gail Migdal Title, with the litigation team for Machine Head handled by Kari Keidser, Dawn Coulson and Randall Rich of Epps & Coulson, along with long-time Machine Head entertainment lawyer Scott Harrington.

"Machine Head will hit the road in the U.S. July 8th with Anti Mortem on the Killers & Kings tour, and will release their as-yet untitled 8th album (their first with new-bassist Jared MacEachern) in November." Band's Facebook page.





Phil Collins' Son and Sound Of Contact Frontman Arrested
(Classic Rock) Sound Of Contact frontman Simon Collins has been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing, according to reports. The frontman - who is the son of Genesis star Phil Collins - was arrested by Wiltshire Police on suspicion of supplying class A drugs, although he denies any wrongdoing.

He was also questioned over allegedly being in possession of class B drugs, the Daily Mail reports. The 37-year-old was released on bail pending further inquiries.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police says: "A 37-year-old man from Devizes has been arrested for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and for possession of a class B drug."

Black Sabbath Play Final Concert Of 13 World Tour
(hennemusic) Black Sabbath played the final show of a world tour in support of "13" with a performance in London's Hyde Park on Friday, and fan-filmed video from the event is available.

The band opened with their 1970 classic, "War Pigs", before running through a 13-song hit-filled set that featured only two tracks from the latest project.

Black Sabbath were joined by a lineup that included Soundgarden, Faith No More, Motorhead, Soulfly and Wolfmother, among others. "Thank you to everyone for coming to see us on this tour," posted guitarist Tony Iommi after the concert. "It was a pleasure to play for you." Video footage from the show can be seen here.

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has posted a video message to fans on the eve of the performance. "Hello everybody. I wanna thank you for all your messages on Facebook. It's been great," says Iommi. "We've had a laugh, and some of them have been really great and very supportive. Thanks so much. I am at home at the moment, about to leave for Hyde Park, which we'll play tomorrow (July 4), and I'm really looking forward to that."

"The tour has been marvelous; we've had a great year, and you couldn't wish for better," he added. "It's been phenomenal ,and you've been phenomenal. And thanks for coming to the shows and being supportive. Thank you very much and we'll see you on the next tour. Thank you very much."

AC/DC's Brian Johnson To Receive Doctorate Degree
(Classic Rock) AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson is to be named a doctor by an English university next week The 66-year-old rocker will be awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Northumbria at a ceremony on Wednesday, July 9.

The uni's website says: "Brian Johnson, who was born down the river at Dunston, is the lead vocalist for AC/DC, one of the world's most successful rock bands.

"They have sold an estimated 150 million albums world-wide and their most recent tour, Black Ice, is claimed to be the third highest-grossing tour of all time." more on this story





Living Colour Releasing New Album And Reveal 30th Anniversary Tour
Living Colour have announced that they are not only celebrating their 30th anniversary with a new North American tour but they are also releasing a new studio album.

The band have not yet announced a release date for the new album, entitled "Shade", but they did reveal that it will be released sometime this fall. The new album follows 2009's "The Chair in the Doorway"

"Shade" reunited the band with Ron Saint Germain, who engineered their multi-platinum debut "Vivid." German produced the new album and he is currently mixing the effort with the band.

Guitarist Vernon Reid had this to say about the album, "Shade is the sound of a band coming to terms with its shadows and light."From the blue pulpit of Robert Johnson to the mean red streets of Brooklyn to the golden lure of Hollywood, Shade is the next chapter of a unique American journey."

The band has revealed the initial dates for their 30th Anniversary tour that will also be supporting the new album release. The announced tour dates begin on September 18th in Toronto, ON at The Opera House.

At press time the tour includes dates that span from the kick off in mid-September to the final announced date that takes place on December 7th in Hanover, MD at the Maryland Live Casino. Additional dates are still to be announced. more on this story





Iron Maiden Play Final Maiden England World tour Concert
(hennemusic) Iron Maiden played the final show of their Maiden England world tour with a headlining set at Sonisphere UK on Saturday, and fan-filmed video from the event is available.

The 16-song set opened with "Moonchild" from 1998's "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son", and focused largely on their 1980s period. The Maiden England stage show closely mirrored, in terms of production and content, the original 1988 concert video of the same name - reissued on DVD last - originally shot on the "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son Tour."

The band played 100 shows to more than 2 million fans in 32 countries over the course of the 2-year tour, which began in June 2012 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Max Cavalera Reveals New Cavalera Conspiracy Album Details
(TeamRock Radio) Cavalera Conspiracy's upcoming third album will be called Pandemonium and is the band's heaviest work to date. Max Cavalera reveals the name of the record on the Metal Hammer Magazine Show - broadcast tonight at 9pm UK time on TeamRock Radio.

Cavalera Conspiracy features former Sepultura and current Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera, as well as his brother Igor. Max tells presenter Alexander Milas that Pandemonium could have had a very different title.

He says: "It's called Pandemonium and it's very, very heavy - the heaviest of all the three. I was really possessed to get Igor back to his Arise era of drumming, everything fast.

"We Almost Called the album F*** The Groove as a joke, like every time we went into the groove 'F*** the groove, get back to the fast.' It's really full energy stuff."

On tonight's show, Cavalera also discusses Sepultura's influence on the current crop of metal bands emerging from countries across the globe and recalls the band's poverty-stricken beginnings.

Prog Supergroup Escape The Cult Release New Video
(Classic Rock) Escape The Cult have released a video for their debut single I'm Absolute. The prog supergroup - which features former and current members of Primus, A Perfect Circle and King Diamond - have created a unique take on the 'lyric video' format, with words from the song appearing as part of the background and scenery throughout.

Escape The Cult is the brainchild of Kamlath bass player Peter G Shallmin. He is joined by drummer Tim Alexander, formerly of Primus and A Perfect Circle. Mike Wead of King Diamond and Mercyful Fate is on guitar duties while French singer Matthieu Romarin, from Uneven Structure, completes the line-up.

P.O.D. Launching Crowdfunded Acoustic Album
(Radio.com) Probably best known for their 2001 modern rock hit "Alive," San Diego's P.O.D. is looking to fans to fund their latest album, which will claims two firsts for the band: first to be crowdfunded and first all-acoustic album.

"We're excited to announce our brand new acoustic album available for pre-order exclusively on PledgeMusic," the band wrote on the crowd-funding site. "It's going to be a little bit of old and a little bit of new - favorites including "Youth of the Nation" and "Alive" will be alongside some brand new songs."

The band explains that they got the idea after doing a number of radio shows and being asked to perform acoustic. "We were a bit hesitant at first, but after great fan reaction, we wanted to do a whole acoustic album."

P.O.D. will offer a number of autographed, limited edition and one-of-a-kind items available to include pre-ordered albums. Def Leppard's Vivian Campbell Gets Married
(hennemusic) Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell married his longtime girlfriend Caitlin Phaneuf on Friday and also explained to fans why he received a "buzz" haircut.

"My girl and I got married yesterday," posted Campbell on Saturday. "We had a great ceremony featuring family and friends and the Leppard band and crew. So happy! Pictures to follow."

He also shared an update on his ongoing battle with the return of his Hodgkin's lymphoma. "In other news, I have to buzz cut my hair as I'm leaving most of it on my pillow due to the new chemo I just started," he wrote. "I'll be sporting a new 'do' tonight in Irvine [California]."

Campbell and Def Leppard are currently on a summer tour of North America with KISS, which wraps up August 31; he'll then be able to refocus his energies on more treatment.

"I'm actually doing this new high-tech chemo treatment, I'm about halfway through it already, and it's really kind of easy going," he recently told The Daily Herald. "It's the first new drug that's been discovered for Hodgkin's since 1977 and they made this discovery in 2011, and it's actually being pioneered here at City of Hope, so I'm part of this research clinical trial that's going on." Dave Kerzner Asks Fans To Kickstart Debut Solo Album
(TeamRock Radio) Dave Kerzner has joined the ever-growing list of artists to adopt the idea of crowd funding after putting his debut solo album on pre-order via Kickstarter.

A deluxe double disc version of the New World, which clocks at more than 140-minutes, is available to order on the website and it is stacked with special guest contributors and collaborators including Steve Hackett of Genesis, Durga McBroom from Pink Floyd, Francis Dunnery of It Bites, Nick D'Virgilio of Tears for Fears and Big Big Train, Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree and other iconic artists.

Incite Frontman Promises Real Metal On New Album
(TeamRock Radio) Incite frontman Richie Cavalera insists his band's forthcoming record will see his band continue their tradition of keeping it real. The hardcore group's third studio album is primed for a September release.

The Phoenix-based band will release Up In Hell on September 1 and Cavalera says the album is "what real metal should sound like." He says: "We're a real band. We've busted our asses.

We've never tried to do anything fake or bullsh*t. We've done this from the ground up. We want to carry the flag for metal "Up In Hell is the result of four artists' views on what real metal should sound like now and in the future."

King Crimson Tease New Music
(Classic Rock) The first new music from the reformed King Crimson line-up has appeared online. The DGM website unleashed a one minute fourteen second segment of the track Venturing Unto Joy Pt. 1, recorded at rehearsal at Elstree Studios by four of the new seven man King Crimson line-up. Featured are Robert Fripp (guitar), Tony Levin (bass) and drummers Bill Rieflin and Gavin Harrison.

On the site, DGM say: "Well, here we are. A bit of King Crimson 2014. One should always be wary of coming to judgement about anything based upon a clip that lasts less than a minute and a half but, but, but... Taken from the rehearsals in Elstree Studios, this snippet has four of the seven-piece Crimso clearly enjoying themselves.

"There's a wealth of back and forth interplay detail between Reiflin and Harrison and of course Levin and Fripp not only grab the lapels but go straight for the jugular. Oh, never mind about the rush to judgement: this is King Crimson and they're on fiery form!"

Marillion Release Video From Upcoming Live Release
(TeamRock Radio) Marillion have released a new online music video taken from their brand new live release. The band is now streaming a performance of "Lucky Man" online.

It is taken from the live pack A Sunday Night Above The Rain, which was recorded on March 10 last year at their bi-annual fan Weekender in the Netherlands.

Supertramp's Carl Verheyen Release New Solo Album
(Classic Rock) Supertramp guitarist Carl Verheyen has released a new instrumental solo album, entitled "Mustang Run". The widely respected session musician says he wanted to break free of "the mould of the Carl Verheyen Band and do a progressive instrumental album."

Verheyen says: "I wanted the opportunity to weave thick textures of sound using dozens of instruments and tones. My motivation was the sheer joy of hearing those sounds in the air."

As well as his prolific recording career, Verheyen has released a number of guitar teaching CDs and DVDs. Mustang Run features guest performances by Simon Phillips, Chad Wackerman, Jerry Goodman, Bill Evans, Jimmy Johnson, Stuart Hamm and Gregg Bissonette. Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page Receives 02 Silver Clef Awards Honor
(hennemusic) Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page was honored at the 02 Silver Clef Awards in London on Friday. Other artists honored at the 02 Silver Clef Awards included Black Sabbath, Sir Tom Jones and Giorgio Moroder.

The July 4 event at the London Hilton saw music therapy charity Nordoff-Robbins present Page with the 02 Silver Clef Award for his outstanding contribution to UK music.

"It's a real honor and a privilege to get an award," said Page on the event's red carpet, "especially from Nordoff-Robbins because that is actively about music - that's exactly what it's about. It's about the power of music; about the communication through music and the healing process of music. It's a profound program that they have."

Rob Reed Teases New Album
(Classic Rock) Rob Reed has released a video featuring music from his upcoming album Sanctuary. The video shows Rob performing an array of instruments in the studio as he runs through a performance of Sanctuary Excerpt 1.

The Magenta and Kompendium mastermind releases the album on Monday, July 21, and has described it as his own tribute to Mike Oldfield's classic album Tubular Bells.

Inspired by Oldfield's work when he was just seven-years-old, Reed set out to learn how to play every instrument on the album and launched an impressive career.

On Sanctuary, he set out to pay tribute to Tubular Bells, but not make a pastiche of it. He says: "I worked hard to make the melodies stand on their own. I wanted to capture the emotion that Mike Oldfield managed to communicate through his playing."

Pixies Frontman Explains Leon Russell Influence
(Classic Rock) Pixies frontman Black Francis says crooner Leon Russell is the biggest influence on his singing style. Francis - AKA Frank Black - is known for his impressive screams, but it is Russell's "free and loose" style that shapes his voice for the most part.

Francis tells the Guardian: "As a teenager in the late 70s I wasn't really interested in contemporary pop music or punk-rock, I was listening to stuff from 10 years earlier. This was a big record for me. Sometimes when I'm singing, I realise there's a certain kind of vocalising I do that takes its cue from Leon Russell.

"He sang in a southern accent but it was very blown-out and exaggerated, very free and loose. I got this record as a gift for playing in the baseball team at junior high. I loathed sports but there weren't enough people to complete the team. So the coach said, 'Have as many records as you want, just please be on the baseball team.' Thunder Promise Their New Album Will Be Worth The Wait
(Classic Rock) Thunder, fresh from their performance at the Calling Festival on London's Clapham Common, have promised that their upcoming tenth studio album will be worth a wait of six years.

"We're chuffed to pieces with how things are proceeding in the studio but the songs have to be absolutely fantastic," reveals singer Danny Bowes. "If they're not, we know that a whole bunch of people will be waiting to stab us in the back. But if everything goes according to plan, the results will be out early next year."

The band had said on several occasions that they would never make a new album. "You can call it a U-Turn if you want," says Bowes responding patiently to Classic Rock's question, "but so far I haven't heard much in the way of complaint. It's what our fans seem to want and there hasn't been a single negative post on our Facebook page." A lot more.





The Cars' Ric Ocasek In The Studio For Candy-O 35th Anniversary
The latest episode of the syndicated radio show InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands celebrates the 35th anniversary of The Cars hit sophomore album "Candy-O." The show sent over these details:

The Cars first album accelarated slowly from its Spring 1978 release. The Boston based band was quickly tagged as a New Wave group, a kinda catch-all description of modern rock music that owed little to the Blues, Elvis, the Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin. The Cars instead sited influences like the Velvet Underground and Lou Reed, plus Iggy Pop as prototypes for The Cars angular alternative sound. But unlike the Velvets or Iggy, The Cars were mainstream.

By the July 4th 1979 holiday, a scant fourteen months after The Cars' debut album all eyes and ears were trained upon the quintet's next model, Candy-O. "Let's Go", "Since I Held You", "It's All I Can Do", "Dangerous Type" "Got a Lot on My Head" and the title track "Candy-O" would send sparks to the cylinders, resulting in two Top 40 hits and four million albums sold.

Cars frontman Ric Ocasek shares with InTheStudio host Redbeard his belief about the movement of music. "I think you should be able to dance to every song. I always thought moving to a song was part of the mental attitude one should have. Not necessarily prescribed sorta dance steps, but basically movement. I always thought things were rhythmic in a way you could dance to, even if they were ballads."

The Defiled's Sonisphere Set Almost Sidelined By Onstage Rampage
(Classic Rock) The excitement of playing the main stage at Sonisphere proved too much for The Defiled's Vincent Hyde as he smashed his only bass, leaving him to play the rest of the show with the damaged instrument.

The bassist got a bit carried away as he demolished his guitar on stage - but with no back up bass he had to limp through the set with a damaged guitar - much to the amusement of his band mates.

Keyboard player The AvD told TeamRock Radio: "He thought he was a rock 'n' roll hero and there were probably more bass' back stage, but no there weren't.

"Three songs in we just heard this smashing and thought he was stomping his feet, but there's a £2000 bass in shatters." More including a stream of the interview here.





Def Leppard's Phil Collen Dresses Up In Gene Simmons' KISS Costume
(hennemusic) KISS are sharing photos of Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen wearing Gene Simmons' costume and bass during soundcheck at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, California on Sunday.

KISS recently launched a summer tour of North America with Def Leppard that will see the pair of classic rock acts hit more than 40 cities before wrapping up in Houston, Texas on August 31.

The band's latest greatest hits package, "KISS 40", recently debuted at No. 30 on the US Billboard 200. The 40-track collection presents one song from every major album release by the group, live selections and "Reputation", an unreleased demo from 1977.

Video of Motley Crue Of Performing New Song Goes Online
(hennemusic) Motley Crue wrote a new song, "All Bad Things Must End", for their farewell tour and video of a performance of the forthcoming single at Summerfest in Milwaukee on July 4 has surfaced.

In May, drummer Tommy Lee revealed the tune will be released as part of a new greatest hits package that will surface in sync with the group's final trek.

"It's pretty heavy, but it's really melodic," Lee told Billboard. "It's definitely about this time right now with the band and what the feeling is and kind of all that wrapped into a song. I hate to say it's like a goodbye, but it definitely references our time here."

Gregg Allman Hospitalized
Allman Brothers Band legend Gregg Allman has reportedly checked himself into a hospital for an undisclosed illness, forcing him to cancel or postpone several concerts.

Allman's official site and Facebook made no mention of the hospitalization as of Wednesday night, but his Facebook page did announce that Tuesday night's concert in Boise, ID had been postponed with the new date to be announced.

The news of the hospitalization came from a report from Oregon Live. The publication reported that Allman checked himself into a hospital on Monday but did not indicate what caused the veteran rocker to do so.

Peter Dammann, the artistic director of the Waterfront Blues Festival, said on Monday that Allman was canceling his entire tour including Sunday's appearance at the festival.

"He decided to cancel the gig tonight in Boise yesterday," Dammann said on Monday. "This morning I called up his agent and said, 'What's going on?' They said, 'We're evaluating, we'll get back to you.'

"A couple hours later, I got a note from management that said, 'We're canceling the whole tour.' They didn't give us any specifics on what's happening with Gregg."





Foreigner and Styx Tour Buses Catch Fire
(Radio.com) Two tour buses for Foreigner and Styx's Soundtrack of Summer Tour were damaged in a fire at a parking facility in Philadelphia on Wednesday, according to the local CBS affiliate.

CBS Philadelphia reports that "the fire started shortly after noon at a tour bus parking facility at 2nd and Callowhill Streets near Penn's Landing" and the station has video footage showing the rear of one tour bus engulfed in flames and another nearby bus also on fire.

Firefighters were on the scene quickly and were able to put out the fires. The buses were not occupied and both bands reported via their social media pages that no one was hurt and the fires would not disrupt their tour plans.

Styx reassured fans on Wednesday, posting on Facebook, "Thank you for all of the tweets, messages, and comments. We're all okay and the buses were not occupied. No one was hurt. Also, the show is still on for tomorrow evening in Camden, NJ."

Kansas Lead Singer Steve Walsh Leaving The Group
Classic rock band Kansas revealed to fans that lead singer Steve Walsh will be leaving the group and his final performance with the band will be taking place next month.

The band posted the following message to their Facebook page on Wednesday, "On June 30, 2014, Steve Walsh informed the members of Kansas that he is resigning from the band.

"His last performance with Kansas will be August 16, 2014, in Sioux City, Iowa, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. As Kansas continues on, the band wishes Steve only the best in his future endeavors, and thanks him for the 41 years."

The Sioux City date is the final stop in the band's current leg of their summer tour. They are scheduled to return to the road on September 12th and have dates scheduled until early November. This is no word yet on who will be taking over lead vocals in the band.





Almost 150 Rare Bob Dylan Acetates Discovered
(Gibson) Nearly 150 previously unknown acetates of songs Bob Dylan was working on at the turn of the '70s have been discovered. As reported by Rolling Stone, the acetates were made by Dylan as he was recording the 1969 album, Nashville Skyline, and the 1970 albums Self Portrait and New Morning.

The recordings, which are currently in the hands of collector Jeff Gold, previously belonged to a woman who owned the Greenwich Village building where Dylan had rented a room to use as a studio. It's assumed Dylan simply left the acetates at that location when he moved out of the space.

The material includes alternate mixes, alternate takes and a handful of never-before-released outtakes. Among the latter are electric versions of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" and "Folsom Prison Blues," and a gospel-tinged take of "Tomorrow is a Long Time."

Columbia Records owns the master tapes for Nashville Skyline, Self Portrait and New Morning, but it's likely the newly discovered acetates are the only sources for the in-progress mixes. more on this story







Ian Gillan To Sing Smoke On Water With 1000s of Guitarists
(Classic Rock) Deep Purple's Ian Gillan is backing a world record attempt for the most number of amateur guitarists playing at the same time. The singer will take a break from Deep Purple's world tour to front Guitars On The Beach, the massive attempt on the world record for the greatest number of guitarists simultaneously playing one song together - with the band's classic Smoke On The Water one of the songs being performed.

It will take place on Lyme Regis beach on Saturday, September 6. Gillan - who has sold more than 100 million albums and has a home in the Dorset seaside town - astonished organisers by volunteering to take part.

After hearing that organizers were planning to include the Deep Purple hit in the set of songs for the giant beach band to perform, he sent them a note saying: "I hear you might be doing Smoke with the massed guitars and if that is the case I thought I'd offer my services if you need a singer."

Rob Halford May Collaborate With Lady Gaga
(Classic Rock) Rob Halford says he and Lady Gaga have discussed a possible collaboration. The Judas Priest frontman met Gaga backstage at one of her gigs in San Diego earlier this month. At the time, she tweeted a picture of the pair.

Now Halford has told how he and the pop superstar talked about working together in the future. He tells The Huffington Post: "It was a real moment come true.

"We didn't really have much time to talk. She's busy. I'm busy, but we've agreed to get together at some point and just hang out and maybe do something. I don't know if that will ever happen, but I love her to death." more on this story





Label Calls Out Band For Disappearing Singer Hoax
(TeamRock Radio) The supposed disappearance of Upon A Burning Body frontman Danny Leal has been branded a "publicity stunt" by the band's furious record label boss. Ash Avildsen, CEO of Sumerian Records, says the hoax was pulled behind his back and he has called on the band to apologies.

Last night fears were growing over Leal's safety after the band posted a message on Facebook claiming he had not been seen since Monday. It followed a series of worrying tweets from Leal in which he seemed to suggest he was being watched and that someone had broken into his house.

Avildsen says in a statement: "I woke up to a ton of missed calls and just saw all this stuff about Danny Leal of UABB posing as though he's been abducted or kidnapped. My phone hasn't stopped ringing since.

"As a child, we all learn the story The Boy Who Cried Wolf and it sticks within our consciousness for a reason. I do not condone this type of publicity stunt. This was done behind my back and I am not OK with it. In my eyes, there's never a time to use the possibility of real-life abduction, injury or murder of someone you care about to promote anything, especially an album.

Weezer Reveal Their Latest Unusual Album Cover
(Radio.com) Weezer have become synonymous with interesting album covers - they had a picture of Jorge Garcia's Hurley character from Lost plastered on their last, with its predecessor featuring a flying dog in a living room.

When the band released the title of their upcoming ninth album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End, it almost seemed as if Weezer was toning down the outrageousness and getting a little less goofy for their first album since 2010.

And then, well, they released the album cover. With the newest installment of their weekly Weezer Wednesdays video series, the band debuted a clip titled "My Mystery" that included in it, among footage of the band performing and of a sleeping child, the album artwork for the new album.

At first glance, the cover had a sort of Where the Wild Things Are feel to it, from the scratched title in the sky to the giant monster crawling through the mountainside.

As it turns out, the photo was created as part of a series by artists Chris McMahon and Thryza Segal, the focus for which is apparently adding monsters to paintings found in thrift stores. Check it out here.




Linkin Park Reacts To CHVRCHES Criticism, Blames Media
(Radio.com) It took CHVRCHES months and the prodding of a reporter to make mild digs at Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda regarding his previous comments that could easily be construed as critical of CHVRCHES, chiefly his naming the band (and others) as "Disney commercial music."

Shinoda did not need nearly that much time to fire back, taking to his namesake website last night to unleash a rant about the whole situation, easily as critical of the media as he is of the Scottish thorns in his side.

"As we released THE Hunting Party, I spoke on various occasions about the inspiration of the album," Shinoda begins. "Part of the answer is that the album is a response to a surplus of danceable, safe, indie-pop music that's taken over 'rock.' A year ago, we knew the indie-pop thing was a style that our band is capable of making. But we were not interested in pursuing it. Why? Because there is a LOT of it out there. It seemed far more exciting for us to go against the grain."

He continues: "They were asked to respond to a version of the comment that was not consistent with what I actually said. Now, to be clear, it's a journalist's tendency (if not their main objective) to sensationalize this kind of commentary, and make a fight where there is none. Let's not let them have that.

"I learned a new term this year: 'click bait.' Click bait is when someone titles a piece in a sensationalized way in order to get more clicks. It's what I did with the title of this post."

For the curious, said post was titled "Pointless Dicks: @CHVRCHES, Laziness, and Cowards." Shinoda eventually takes a step back.





Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner Writing A '60s 'X-Men Style' Film
(Radio.com) Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner is joining forces with Last Shadow Puppets bandmate Miles Kane to write an "X-Men style film" together. Turner and Kane, who first teamed up to form the Last Shadow Puppets as a side project in 2007, are now prioritizing a film together, Digital Spy reports.

"It's gonna have a sort of X-Men kind of vibe and sort of set in the '60s, but I can't give anymore away than that," Kane said, adding that they likely won't have a starring role in the film. "We're not planning to be [in the film] but we may have a little cameo."

But a film isn't the only collaboration they may have in mind; the duo hasn't ruled out more Last Shadow Puppets material in the future. It's something we always talk about, y'know?" Kane added. More.





Cradle of Filth and Paul Allender Part Ways
(TeamRock Radio) Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth says a parting of the ways with Paul Allender has been in the cards for a year due to the guitarist being based on the other side of the Atlantic.

Filth frontman confirmed Allender had left the band while he also laid the blame for the split at Allender prioritizing his side project White Empress ahead of his own band.

Filth tells Bleedin' Loud: "Paul has left which not everybody is aware of. We weren't planning on it, because it was the kind of thing that has been, kind of, brewing for the last year or so. Not so much on a personal level, but living in America and then him doing his side project and getting kind of lost in that."

Another issue which caused the splintering of the relationship between Allender and Cradle was his reluctance to embrace a second guitarist, which is something Filth says the band may want to look into again. more on this story





Sepultura Frontman Dismisses Max Cavalera Claims
(TeamRock Radio) Sepultura frontman Derrick Green has blasted claims made by Max Cavalera that the band won't be recording any more studio albums. Green vowed the band will continue to release records as he compared former main man Cavalera's claims to high school level gossip.

Cavalera told Hard Rock Haven he'd "heard a rumour" that Sepultura's 2013 album The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart would be their last.

Green tells TotalRock: "It's absolutely ridiculous. All this stuff is ridiculous. If people really wanna know what's happening, then they can easily ask us, and we've never come to that conclusion at all.

"We definitely wanna have another album, for sure. For us, we play all the time - many, many different places and we try to do as much as possible with our music and show that on stage. Not be so much in the media talking about other people and other bands and things like that.

"I passed that in high school, like a long time ago. You get face to face and f***ing speak to us. But other than that, it's just bullsh*t." More




Cannibal Corpse Reveal New Album Details
Cannibal Corpse have announced that Metal Blade Records will be releasing their 13th full length album, "A Skeletal Domain," on September 16th in North America.

The band recorded "A Skeletal Domain" at Audio Hammer Studios with producer Mark Lewis, who has worked with The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, DevilDriver, Battlecross and more.

Cannibal Corpse Alex Webster's had this say about the making of the new album, "At the end of the day, we're still making a death metal record, no matter where it's being recorded."

He adds, "Consistency is often confused with repetition. We are established with what we do as a band, and we could relax and not push ourselves, but we try to push the envelope. That's what makes this exciting

"Anyone who really listens to this album with an open mind will hear that it's not same-old same-old." Mark Lewis would concur with Webster's analysis and even goes a step further by claiming that "there are moments on this record that have never happened in musical history."

Genesis Cofounder Anthony Phillips Releasing Box Set
(Classic Rock) Genesis founding guitarist Anthony Phillips has signed to Esoteric Recordings and will release a 5CD retrospective box set later this year. Phillips founded Genesis alongside Peter Gabriel, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks with whom he recorded the albums From Genesis To Revelation and Trespass.

Since leaving the group in 1970, he has worked on a range of projects including solo albums The Geese And The Ghost, Wise After The Event, Slow Dance, 1984 and Field Day.

He has to date also released 10 albums in the "Private Parts And Pieces" series and four volumes in the Missing Links series. His back catalogue will be celebrated with the release of a 5CD deluxe boxed set in October entitled Harvest Of The Heart.

It will feature recordings made between 1969 and the present day. In addition, the set will include 10 previously unreleased songs and the rare track Compression by Mike Rutherford - previously unreleased on CD - which features Anthony and was the B-side to Mike's 1980 single Working In Line. more on this story





Godsmack Members See Side-Band As Long Term
(TeamRock Radio) Godsmack duo Shannon Larkin and Tony Rombola say their new band is a long-term project. And they say Blue Cross Band is different to their regular gig with Godsmack, which they describe as like being part of a gang.

The pair are turning down the volume and looking to increase their musical longevity with the Blue Cross Band, formed with frontman Ray Cerbone and bassist Brian Carpenter.

Drummer Larkin tells News-Press.com: "I see myself doing the Blue Cross Band after Godsmack. This is a style of music I can see myself playing well into my 60s.

"When I hit the drums in Godsmack, I'm trying to kill 'em. In The Cross, I shut my eyes and I'm into the lyrics and the song and Tony's guitar playing and Brian's bass. It's a band thing, whereas in Godsmack, it's like a gang thing. We're out to pummel." more on this story





Suicide Silence Release 'You Can't Stop' Video
(TeamRock Radio) Suicide Silence have revealed a new music video for the title track from their upcoming album, You Can't Stop, ahead of the album's release later this month.

"You Can't Stop" is taken from the album of the same name, due out on July 15th in the U.S., July 11th in Europe and July 14th in the UK. It features lyrics written by tragic former frontman Mitch Lucker.

It will be the band's first album featuring new frontman Eddie Hermida, who was drafted in following the tragic death of Lucker in a 2012 motorcycle accident.

Judas Priest Preview 'Sword Of Damocles'
(hennemusic) Judas Priest have released a new online preview clip for the song "Sword Of Damocles", one of the tracks found on their forthcoming album, "Redeemer Of Souls."

Due July 8 in North America, the project will be issued in a standard version and a deluxe edition with five bonus tracks. The night before the album hits stores, members of Judas Priest will appear on the North American rock radio series Rockline.

Glenn Tipton, Rob Halford and Richie Faulkner will join host Bob Coburn on Monday, July 7 at 8:30 PT / 11:30 ET. Fans can phone in to speak with Judas Priest during the program at 1-800-344-ROCK (7625).

Guns N' Roses Release Live 'You Could Be Mine' Video
(hennemusic) Guns N' Roses have released a new live video version of "You Could Be Mine" from their new release, "Appetite For Democracy 3D: Live From The Hard Rock Casino - Las Vegas."

Released on July 1st on DVD and Blu-ray, the package features the band filmed in concert on November 21, 2012 during their first residency in Las Vegas.

The Blu-ray includes the complete concert film in both 3D and 2D plus an interactive 3D photo gallery, and the standard DVD presents the 2D version of the film.

Band To Play In Iron Box Until They Suffocate
(Radio.com) British death metal band Unfathomable Ruination will squeeze themselves and their instruments into a sealed iron cube and play an "intense and brutal" set until they run out of air.

The performance art is part of internationally recognized Portuguese artist João Onofre's touring sculpture titled Box Sized Die. "In each location the sculpture travels to, Onofre invites a local death metal band to play, on this occasion Unfathomable Ruination," says the City of London's official website.

"The box is soundproofed, determining and restricting the performance's duration to the length of time in which the oxygen is expended. Outside the cube, viewers observe its strange vibrations, only viewing the band's entrance and exit to the performance space."

Onofre's iron box is part of London's free art exhibition, Sculpture in the City, a collaboration between the City of London Corporation, local businesses and the art world to create open-air art exhibitions around the city, explained Culture24.org.

Unfathomable Ruination will perform outside Gherkin July 3 and 4 at 6 p.m. local time, assuming the band isn't hospitalized after their first go-round. This isn't the first band to try this.




Red Hot Chili Peppers Giving Away New EP
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are living up to the lyrics of one of their hits and giving away a live digital EP and the band have also released the live recordings from their Isle of Wight appearance last month.

Although it doesn't contain the song "Give It Way", the band are giving away a new live EP featuring performances that were captured during the 2012-2013 I'm With You tour.

Drummer Chad Smith selected the five free tracks that make up the EP. The tracks include "Breaking the Girl", "Wet Sand", "Snow", "Power of Equality" and "Strip My Mind". You can download it here.

The band has also released a new digital live album from their Isle of Wight Festival appearance that took place on June 14, 2014. The live 17-track set was recorded and mixed by Jason Gossman. You can preview and purchase that album here.




Atreyu Reunite
Atreyu announced that they have ended their hiatus and will be reuniting for their first live performance in three year when they take the stage at this year's Aftershock festival.

The reunited lineup includes vocalist Alex Varkatzas, drummer Brandon Saller, guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel and bassist Marc Mcknight and they will perform on the main-stage at the Sacramento, CA festival on September 14th.

Saller had this to say about the band ending their hiatus, " The time has come. We have been spending the last few months planning this moment. Writing new music and thinking about the future while also reflecting on the past. We all came to the conclusion that it was the right time.

"Our history is too powerful to ignore forever. Our fans have given us too much. The void of Atreyu, in the world and within ourselves, had existed for long enough. We are happy to announce that after almost 4 years, the beast has risen!"

Frontman Alex Varkatzas adds, "To say we are looking forward to Playing this years Aftershock Festival is an understatement. It's been 3+yrs since we have rocked the stage as brothers, and to be playing with all these high caliber bands, in the state that we call home, is truly awesome."




Judas Priest Streaming New Album 'Redeemer Of Souls' Online
Judas Priest have been teasing fans with short previews of songs from their new album, "Redeemer of Souls," but now the band have opted to give fans a chance to hear the full album ahead of its release.

The new album doesn't hit stores until next Tuesday, July 8th, but fans can logon to iTunes Radio to hear the full album right now. Check out the iTunes preview here.

The band also recently announced that they will be launching a North American tour in support of the new album. The trek will be taking place this fall and will feature support from comedy metal band Steel Panther.

Deep Purple Releasing New Album Next Year
(Classic Rock) Deep Purple have confirmed they will release a new album in 2015. Frontman Ian Gillan previously revealed the band were holed up in a studio in Portugal. And bass player Roger Glover has announced the follow up to 2013's Now What will arrive next year.

Glover says the writing session in Portugal produced a number of ideas for new songs. Ahead of their performance at Hellfest in France, Glover tells Rock Meeting: "What happened with 'Now What' is we had a writing session in Spain for about a week or so, and then we had another writing session, and then we recorded the album. And it was eight years between albums. We can't live that long to do another eight years.

"We had a writing session a couple of weeks ago in Portugal, and we've got about a dozen rough ideas and jams, some of which will make it. We'll have another writing session later in the year and I think, probably, I don't know when next year, but sometime next year, there'll be another album."

Michael Monroe Says Hanoi Rocks Will Never Reunite Again
(Classic Rock) Michael Monroe says that Hanoi Rocks will never reunite again. Monroe, who fronted the group during two separate spells, believes that here's no need to do so because his current solo group is "more of a band" than the unit that Hanoi became during their second incarnation.

The singer spoke on behalf of Hanoi Rocks whilst collecting an Inspiration award at Metal Hammer's recent Golden Gods ceremony. "This is the band's first ever award, and I flew in especially to accept it," he enthused. "Hanoi Rockss are still one of the best-kept secrets in rock'n'roll, but it's great that some people still remember us as a very special band."

Monroe insists that although the band reunited for a second eight-year spell in 2001, a third run is out of the question. "Hanoi broke up [first time around] when Razzle died and Nasty [Suicide, guitarist] left the band - it was more important to save the integrity of what we were doing than to push on for the sake of it," he says. "Nobody could replace Razzle or Nasty. For Hanoi, none of the usual rules applied, getting rich and famous really wasn't what it was about. So we stopped." A lot more with Monroe here.





Jack White Covers Kanye West's 'Black Skinhead'
(Radio.com) Jack White has made it very clear that he wants to work with Kanye West, but for some reason 'Ye won't return his calls. Perhaps this new cover will pique his interest.

White kicked off a recent show in Dublin - yes, that same one where they pulled the plug on him, but he just kept on playing - with a cover of Kanye's "Black Skinhead." The few second instrumental tribute is pure White, giving Yeezus that bluesy downhome feel we didn't know it was missing.

The cover eventually melds into White's Lazaretto track, "High Ball Stepper." Later in the show, White teamed up with The Kills, a band that features his Dead Weather bandmate, Alison Mosshart, for "Love Interruption" and "Goodnight, Irene."

During the World Cup (and every other recent sporting event) you might have heard the crowd chanting the White Stripes "Seven Nation Army," White is aware of this too, and says that's when he realized it was a hit. He told KROQ (a Radio.com station) that it had become a soccer anthem years ago in Europe.

"A friend of mine was on his honeymoon. And sat on the beach, and there was a cruise ship, and the passengers on the ship were chanting it. He wrote me a letter and said 'I can't believe what just happened,'" White explained. "That year, the president of Italy chanted it from a balcony in Rome, because Italy won the World Cup. So those were a couple of moments where I said, 'I think the song is connecting with people.'"

Justin Moore Releases Video For Motley Crue's Home Sweet Home Cover
(hennemusic) Country rocker Justin Moore has released the video for his version of "Home Sweet Home" from the forthcoming album, "Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute To Motley Crue."

Joining Moore on the track and in the clip is Crue frontman Vince Neil. Due August 19, the project sees a variety of country artists covering Motley Crue tracks as the rockers prepare to launch their farewell tour.

Slash Helped Lemmy During Recovery From Surgery
(Classic Rock) Slash was a regular visitor at Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister's house as he recovered from his recent health problems, the Motorhead man has revealed.

As he prepares to play with Motorhead at Hyde Park this week, Lemmy says Slash turned up at his Los Angeles home as he worked back to health following surgery to implant a heart defibrillator.

Slash had his own heart problems following his lifestyle while in Guns 'N' Roses. Lemmy tells Rolling Stone: "He was at my house more than he's ever been before, encouraging me. He's a really f***ing good guy." more on this story






David Coverdale's Home Invaded By Bear
(Classic Rock) Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale's Lake Tahoe home was raided by a black bear at the weekend. The singer, who was at home at the time, bravely confronted the unwanted intruder.

"It must have weighed 450-500 lbs", Coverdale tells Classic Rock. "It took out two armed screens, opened the fridge, ate his fill, then took a HUGE poop. I came upstairs and interrupted him. I shouted like crazy as I couldn't find my air horns. Thank God, he remembered where he entered.

"I quickly looked around as I saw the mess and couldn't see where he gained access, then he headed for some sliding doors that we leave open when it's hot. They're only open five or six inches, and we have ' bear poles' that prevent anyone or thing opening them. But I saw with my own eyes the creature rear up on its hind legs and squeeze out, taking an antique Tiffany lamp out as it escaped. Heartbreaking". See the photo here.





Nikki Sixx Talks Motley Crue Farewell Tour, New Song, Alice Cooper

"The preparation started over a year ago and is just ending with the final assembly of the biggest show we've ever had. I would say this show reflects our love of being extremist…"

Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' Video Casting Call Goes Online
(Radio.com) If you've ever wondered how the disaffected kids in the bleacher stands were chosen for Nirvana's iconic "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video, take a look at this casting call.

Consequence of Sound has posted an image of the casting call for the video, which was shot in 1991.The band was searching for 18-25 year olds in logo-less clothing who could "adapt a high-school persona, i.e. preppy, punk, nerd, jock…" for the video, which took inspiration from The Ramones' musical comedy Rock 'n' Roll High School.

Little did they know they'd be subjected to having to hear "Smells Like Teen Spirit" on repeat for hours to make their boredom more realistic. As the story goes, after 12 hours of shooting, the extras became so restless they trashed the set - reportedly with Kurt Cobain's blessing, who had been clashing with director Samuel Bayer over his narrative-driven approach. King Diamond Working On Deeply Personal New Album
(TeamRock Radio) King Diamond, who had a triple heart bypass in 2010, revealed he and his band are working on a deeply personal new album for which he already has a title.

He tells Rolling Stone: "We've done a lot of stuff. We are going in some new ways that are going to be amazing. I've been building a studio so I can do my vocals at home. Once it's completed, we can start recording.

"I have a title for a new record, but I won't say it. It will encompass the things I need to write about after what I went through. But I can't say much about it because I haven't talked to the rest of the band about it." more on this story





Jon Larsen Had To Literally Dust Off Drums For Volbeat
(Classic Rock) Jon Larsen recalls having to dust off his drum kit when the chance to join Volbeat came along. The drummer had played in small bands in Denmark as a youngster, but put his kit into storage after getting a regular job and giving up on music.

Luckily for him, old friend Michael Poulsen immediately thought of Larsen when he was putting Volbeat together. Larsen tells Mulatschag: "After playing in local bands that never really amounted to anything, it was like 'Okay, been there, done that didn't get the t-shirt but hey, I did that.'

"I got a regular job and didn't really pay too much attention to playing music. Then one day I got a phone call from Michael saying 'I need someone who can do two and four.' I said I hadn't played in a couple of years, but he said 'Don't worry about it.'

"It is actually a true story, I dusted the kit off in the basement and took them out. It took a while to get back but I must have been doing something good because he kept me."

AC/DC and Iron Maiden Rumored as Next Glastonbury Headliners
(Classic Rock) Iron Maiden are the bookies' favorite to headline next year's Glastonbury festival but there is also speculation that AC/DC could be a headliner in 2015.

Metallica's triumphant performance topping the bill on the main stage at Worthy Farm on Saturday has opened the door for other heavy metal acts to play at Glasto, with the rumour mill in full flow as to who might follow in James Hetfield and co's footsteps.

Metallica were the first metal band to headline the famous festival's Pyramid Stage, and now William Hill has made Maiden the 7/1 favorites for the slot in 2015. William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams says: "All the money has been for Iron Maiden today whilst U2 were very well backed yesterday."

Meanwhile, the Independent says AC/DC are the band being lined up for the main stage next year. The newspaper quotes festival boss Michael Eavis as saying he has already spoken to three acts about headlining in 2015.

The Black Keys Full Glastonbury Performance Goes Online
(hennemusic) The Black Keys played the Glastonbury Festival on Sunday, and video of their complete performance is available for fans to stream online. Playing second a bill headlined by Kasabian, the band played a set that mixed songs from their catalog alongside tunes from their new album, "Turn Blue."

Upon its release in May, the group landed their first US No. 1 album as "Turn Blue" debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart with 164,000 copies sold in its first week, narrowly beating out the new release by Michael Jackson, "Xscape."

The Glastonbury stop is one date on the band's current European tour; shows wrap up July 22 at the Paleo Festival in Nyon, Switzerland. Check out the festival performance here.





Kix Release Lyric Video For First Single From Comeback Album
(Classic Rock) Kix are back in action with the upcoming release of their new studio album and they've launched a lyric video for lead track Love Me With Your Top Down.

Their seventh studio record, their first new album in 20 years, is entitled Rock Your Face Off, will be released on August 5th in North America and August 4th in Europe via Loud & Proud Records.

Frontman Steve Whiteman recently said of their first release since their 2003 reunion: "It's still hot women, fast cars, and great moments. I want everybody to end up on their feet – you can party to this one."

Singled Out: A Bad Think's On and On
Today Michael Marquart of A Bad Think tell us about the first single "On And On" off of their 5th album called "Sleep" which was released on Tuesday, June 17th. Here is the story:

On and On is the new video and single. It was one of the last songs written for the new album "Sleep". It almost wasn't completed in time. It came to me very fast as I was sitting in my backyard in Los Angeles with a glass of wine in one hand, and my Martin in the other. Most of the album was done and already at mix but I wanted to include this track on the album so I scrambled to get it done. I was surprised to see the video director (Derrick Borte) had turn me into a bad guy, which wasn't the plan. We were going to do the title track (Sleep) but Derrick came to me two days before shooting and wanted to change the song to On and On. I freaked out because so much work had gone into the other track, but I trusted him on this, and he was right.

It talks about how the nature of how things tend to go on and on, like good versus evil, the cycle of life, the need for love, how the sun always sets in the west and so on. I just like how the words worked together. This track is one of the only ones I did not play any guitar on. Ralph (voodooman) Bruner played all the leads and Mark Woerpel played all of the other guitar tracks.

I really like the simple guitar riff, and the melody came easy. I'm a finger picking guy. I don't use a pick very often. I have way more feeling just using my fingers. I did have to change the key to put it in a range I could sing. It's one of my favorites on the album.

The Who To Launch Long Goodbye With 50th Anniversary Tour
The Who announced that they are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year by launching The Who Hits 50! British tour, which frontman Roger Daltrey says "is the beginning of the long goodbye."

There is no word yet if the tour plans will extend to other markets across the globe but Daltrey's comments have lead to speculation that this is the first leg of the band's farewell tour.

The British trek is scheduled to kick off on November 26th in Dublin, Ireland and will include stops in Belfast, Glasgow, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham, Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, Cardiff and will conclude on December 17th in London.

The Who Hits 50! tour will feature music spanning the legendary band's entire career from present day songs, classic hits and deep cuts from the band's classic albums including Who's Next, Tommy, My Generation, Quadrophenia and even material from their The High Numbers days.

Guitarist Pete Townshend bills the setlist as 'Hits, Picks, Mixes and Misses'. Here is what he had to say about the tour, "Trying to stay young. Not wearing socks. Growing a great big woodcutter's beard. Might even wear a check shirt on stage and get a tattoo of a Union Jack. Always a fashion victim. But under no illusions.

"We are what we are, and extremely good at it, but we're lucky to be alive and still touring. If I had enough hairs to split I would say that for thirteen years since 1964 The Who didn't really exist, so we are really only thirty-seven." more on this story




Neil Young and Crazy Horse Member Suffers Stroke
Neil Young and Crazy Horse bass player Billy Talbot has been forced to sit out the band's European tour that kicks off next week after he suffered a minor stroke.

Warner Bros. Records said in the announcement on Monday that Talbot's doctors expect him to make a full recovery but they have advised him not to join the tour so that he can recover.

Talbot will be replaced on the tour by Rick Rosas, who has a long history of performing with Young including with Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

The tour will be kicking off next Monday, July 7th in Reykjavik, Iceland at the Laugardsholl and will conclude on August 8th in Alsace, France at the annual Festival de la Foire aux Vins. more on this story




Metallica Frontman Calls Out KISS and Scorpions For 'Farewell' Tours
Metallica have lasted over 30 years and it's natural that talk of their retirement comes up in interviews but James Hetfield says the band won't be like KISS or the Scorpions and launch farewell tours that aren't really farewell tours.

"I don't think that's fair to anyone," Hetfield says in the latest issue of Kerrang. "Kiss' farewell tour for the 10th time? Scorpions were done and then they tour? You can't say that and then not do it.

"I don't know what's in store for us. I don't want to go on the history of how other bands have done it. We're unique in our own path and unique in how our path ends."




Motorhead Delay Expanded Album Release
Fans hoping to get their hands on Motorhead's "Aftershock - Tour Edition" this month will have to be a little more patient. The band announced that the release has been pushed back.

Citing a production error, the band announced on Monday that the new expanded edition of their latest studio album will now be released on August 26th instead of this month.

The new version is set to feature the studio album along with a bonus disc that will include live material that is comprised from the band's 2014 West Coast Tour.

Motorhead fans will get a little taste of what is come this month. On July 7th VH1 Classic will premiere the live video for the song "Lost Woman Blues" which was captured at The Warfield in San Francisco on Friday April 18th, 2014.

Pennywise Streaming New Album 'Yesterdays' In Full
(Radio.com) Pennywise's new album 'Yesterdays' Doesn't come out until July 15 on Epitaph, but the band is giving fans an advance listen to the full album via Radio.com.

One thing about Pennywise's new album Yesterdays: it's not actually new.The songs featured on the band's 11th studio album - their first with original frontman and Punk Rock Dad Jim Lindberg since he left the band in 2009 - have been lying around for 25 years. Most of these songs were written in the late '80s by original bassist Jason Thirsk but were never properly recorded. He died in 1996.

"Jason was a truly gifted person," the band's current bassist, Randy Bradbury, told Radio.com over email. "The songs he wrote, that we included on Yesterdays, really show the raw talent Jason had for melody and lyrical expression…We always say Jason is still with us in spirit. I hope he would be proud of our efforts to capture the true essence of how these songs should be presented."

When Thirsk wrote these songs, the guys were still playing backyard parties in their hometown of Hermosa Beach, Cali., trying to fit as many songs as they could into a set before the cops showed up and shut it down. Perhaps, that's why many of these tracks seem as if they're being played at 300 beats per minute. The guys had to make their point quick. But these songs don't sound dated.

"After 25 years the songs still sound fresh," Bradbury said. "This album may even be more of a stretch than we would have taken if we were writing all brand new material."

Ozzy Osbourne All For Becoming Sir Ozzy
Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne has responded very favorably to the latest fan push to have Queen Elizabeth II honor him with a knighthood. Ozzy says he "can't imagine anything better" than receiving the honor.

The latest initiative to have Osbourne knighted was launched by Australian fan Helen Maidiotis, who started a petition to have Osbourne honored by the Queen. Ozzy was asked by British magazine Time Out London about the fans move and he responded, "I've heard about that. Getting knighted? I can't imagine anything better," he said with a smile.

"And my wife [Sharon] would become a Lady, which would be pretty cool. But I'm not gonna get upset if it doesn't happen. I never thought I'd get further than Aston [in Birmingham, England, where he was born]."

Ozzy also discussed how he doesn't look back over his long career which began in 1969 with the formation of Black Sabbath. "I don't do that [look back], but I guess I should a bit more. Because I know when I had my first successful album with Black Sabbath I thought: 'Oh, this is great, this will last a couple of years, I'll just get drunk every night and have a few chicks in my room,'" he recalled.

"And here I am, 45 years down the road, and I'm doing better than ever. I haven't always been on top of the world, there have been bad times as well, but you don't just give up at the first sign of choppy waters, you carry on rowing."





Mick Jagger Pokes Fun at Rolling Stones and Monty Python Reunion
(Radio.com) Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones have found themselves at the butt end of a fair amount of jokes about their age, not to mention questions about whether it's appropriate or not for them to still tour, 50 years after they started. So Mick Jagger probably jumped at the chance to shoot a video introducing the reunion of legendary British comedy troop Monty Python.

The video, which precedes a string of performances by the five surviving members of Monty Python, saw Jagger "taking the piss" out of them (and himself), to use the British term.

In the video, Jagger watches a soccer (or football) match with Stones drummer Charlie Watts at his side. An assistant informs him that one of their crew members is in London for the Monty Python reunion shows.

"Monty Python?" Jagger asks, "They're still going?" The assistant points out that they have 10 shows booked. "10 shows? They must be coining it in! It must be expensive! Who wants to see that again? It was really funny in the '60s…"

"Well, the first show sold out in 40 seconds."

"Wow!" Jagger replies. "Still, it's a bunch of wrinkly old men trying to relive their youth and make a load of money," he says, mirroring the complaint often aimed at the his own group. "The best one died years ago!" he says, a reference to Graham Chapman, who died in 1989.

"You've seen it all before! I mean, they've put it all up on YouTube!" he adds. It doesn't end there.



Jack White and Zac Brown Band Cover Metallica's 'Enter Sandman'
(Radio.com) Metallica fans attending Glastonbury this past weekend got to witness the band twice during the festival on Saturday (June 28) - well, "Enter Sandman," at least.

While Metallica headlined Saturday's show - complete with a foxy little intro video - Jack White paid homage to the band during his set when he covered "Enter Sandman," albeit briefly.

At around the 45-minute mark of the hits-filled showcase at the U.K. fest, White tore into the famous riff from Metallica's 1991 hit. White wasn't the only artist to pay tribute to Metallica over the weekend. Rolling Stone Country reports that Zac Brown Band closed their set at Fenway Park on Saturday with "Enter Sandman."

King 810 Frontman's Assault Charge Dismissed
(TeamRock Radio) An assault case against King 810 frontman David Gunn has been dismissed by a US court, according to the band. However, bassist Gene Gill will have to appear in court again to answer a charge of 'Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder'.

According to a statement on the band's Facebook page, the judge at Flint Michigan's 68th District Court today dismissed the charges against Gunn, 28.

The pair were said to have been involved in a bar brawl in October last year and were arrested as they tried to board a plane bound for the UK this month. The band were due to appear at Download but were forced to pull out at the last minute as Gunn and Gill were in police custody. more on this story





Crowbar Singer Can See Pantera Tribute, Not A Reunion
(TeamRock Radio) Crowbar singer Kirk Windstein says he wouldn't like to see an official Pantera reunion - but he would be in favour of a live tribute to the band's legacy.

Windstein, a former colleague of Phil Anselmo in Down, admits to being a huge fan of the band, but says he can't see the surviving members performing as Pantera with Zakk Wylde - or anyone else - on guitar.

Windstein tells Riff-Mag: "I know Phil was doing a Pantera song or two with Black Label, but I can't ever see it being billed as Pantera. If it's Philip Anselmo, Rex Brown, Vinnie Paul and special guest Zakk Wylde doing the music of Pantera or celebrating the legacy of Pantera - I can see that happening. But to say 'This is Pantera', no.

"In my opinion and knowing Philip for so many years, I don't see them calling themselves Pantera. But to go play the songs, why not? We all love it. It's on of the best bands ever." More including a full stream of the interview




Motley Crue Preview Justin Moore's Version Of 'Home Sweet Home'
(hennemusic) Motley Crue are previewing country rocker Justin Moore's version of "Home Sweet Home" from the forthcoming album, "Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute To Motley Crue."

Joining Moore on the track is Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil; the band are previewing the track by sharing a behind the scenes look at the making of the video for the tune.

Due August 19, the project sees a variety of country artists covering Motley Crue tracks as the rockers prepare to launch their farewell tour this summer. "Nashville Outlaws" features performances by Rascal Fatts, LeAnne Rimes, Florida Georgia Line, Darius Rucker, Gretchen Wilson and more.

Lostprophets Members Regroup at No Devotion
(TeamRock Radio) Former members of Lostprophets have released the first single by their new project, No Devotion. As previously suggested, guitarists Mike Lewis and Lee Gaze, keyboard player Jamie Oliver, drummer Luke Johnson and bass player Stuart Richardson have snapped up Thursday singer Geoff Rickly to front their new band.

Stay is available now via iTunes. Rickly's label, Collect Records, will also make a 12" vinyl version available on Monday, July 13. Following singer Ian Watkins' conviction for a string of horrific child sex offences - for which he was last year jailed for 35 years - the remaining members of Lostprophets were left in limbo. With the band's name tarnished, bringing in a new singer was not an option.

The Welsh musicians opted to start again. Richardson says: "We didn't know if we would ever make music again, if people would look us in the face. Everything felt like it was over."

Bruce Springsteen Releasing Short Film
(hennemusic) Bruce Springsteen will debut a new short film, "Hunter Of Invisible Game", on his website next week. The project sees the rocker working with director Thom Zimny.

Set to premiere July 9 at 12 PM ET at brucespringsteen.net. Zimny who has shot several music videos for Springsteen in recent years, including everything from his last two releases, 2012's "Wrecking Ball" and 2014's "High Hopes."

The singer has not yet provided additional details about the film, which may turn out to be an extended video for the song of the same name from his latest album.

Guns N' Roses Release Live 'Sweet Child 'O Mine' Video
(hennemusic) Guns N' Roses have released a performance of "Sweet Child 'O Mine" from their new package, "Appetite For Democracy 3D: Live From The Hard Rock Casino - Las Vegas."

The new DVD and Blu-ray collection were released today. The sets features the band filmed in concert on November 21, 2012 during their first residency in Las Vegas.

The Blu-ray includes the complete concert film in both 3D and 2D plus an interactive 3D photo gallery, and the standard DVD presents the 2D version of the film.

Steve Hackett Goes Behind-The-Scenes Of Genesis Revisited DVD
(Prog) Steve Hackett has launched a six-minute trailer for his Genesis Revisited: Live DVD, out this week. The behind-the-scenes clip shows the preparations leading up to his Royal Albert Hall concert in October last year, featuring a range of guest musicians including Ray Wilson, Roine Stolt, John Wetton and Amanda Lehmann.

Hackett describes the show as "the musical equivalent of climbing Everest," adding: "I know I've done bigger things in my time, but none more stupendous than this." Referring to probably the best-known regular event at the Albert Hall, he says: "You might say it's the last night of the progs."

Genesis Revisited: Live will be released on June 30 via InsideOut as a standard DVD/2CD digipak and limited-edtiion Blu-ray/2DVD/2CD art book with liner notes, photos and bonus features. Hackett tours the UK later this year with what's likely to be the last of his Revisited shows, with tracks previously not included during live shows.

Tarja Turunen Releases Full Orchestra Song
(Prog) Former Nightwish frontwoman Tarja Turunen has released an online stream of the full orchestra version of the song "Neverlight" which is featured on her forthcoming album.

The album, Left In The Dark, was previously only available as an exclusive tour CD as part of a ticket bundle on Tarja's tour for previous release Colours In The Dark.

Left In The Dark contains b-sides, rarities, demos and instrumental versions as well as five previously unreleased versions of tracks. It is released on Friday, July 4.

Radiohead's Philip Selway Releases New Solo Song
(Prog) Radiohead drummer Philip Selway has released Coming Up For Air, the first track from second solo album Weatherhouse. The 10-track record is due on October 6 via Bella Union, and it's described as featuring a "generally darker and fuller" sound than 2010's Familial.

It's a collaboration with his solo band colleagues Adem Ilhan and Quinta. Selway says: "From the outset we wanted the album to be the three of us, and we covered a lot of instruments between us. Different musicians stretch you; I felt stretched on Weatherhouse, but very enjoyably so."

He adds of Coming Up For Air: "It's very much about taking stock of my life - I wanted to convey a sense of release and affirmation. This was the first song we recorded. Immediately it felt in a very different space from Familial."

Black Star Riders' Robbie Crane Fitting In Via Crazy Stories
(TeamRock Radio) New Black Star Riders bassist Robbie Crane is quickly winning over his new bandmates - mainly with his crazy stories. Guitarist Damon Johnson says Crane - who replaced Marco Mendoza earlier this month - has brightened up the BSR tour bus, as well as being a great bassist.

Johnson tells Hard N Fast: "Robbie has a flawless reputation in the business of being a great player and a great guy. At this point for us, being able to travel and be around somebody that you dig is every bit as important as the playing ability.

"Robbie came in and just crushed the audition. We gave him a couple of Black Star Riders songs and a couple of Thin Lizzy tunes and he killed it. He's got such a great attitude.

"My jaw is hurting from laughing so much, that guy has got so many great stories. He's got good energy, so we feel really lucky. If we're going to have to move on from such a great player as Marco, it's great to have a killer guy." more on this story





Metallica Share 'Foxy' Intro Video From Glastonbury
(Radio.com) After weeks of controversy over whether Metallica was an appropriate headliner for the British rock festival Glastonbury, or if they should be protested because frontman James Hetfield narrated The Hunt, an eight-part television series documenting the killing of Alaskan Kodiak brown bears, the weekend of the festival finally came. Metallica performed as scheduled, but not before showing a bizarre intro film called "Glastallica."

As usual, the band used Ennio Morricone's theme to the Sergio Leone 1966 spaghetti western The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and showed a scene from the film (the film started with the words "R.I.P. Eli Wallach 1915 - 2014″ on the screen, in tribute to the one of the film's leads, who had just passed away on June 24).

After that, things got weird. A minute and a half into the film, the scene changed to a British fox hunt (which has been illegal in England since 2005). The hunt, which sees a troop of scent hounds as well as hunters on horseback pursuing a fox (soundtracked to the Sweet's "Fox on the Run," which plays after what sounds like Hetfield yelling "What does the fox say?") is interrupted by four bears with shotguns who - surprise! - turn out to be Metallica's Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo.
