Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres was rushed to the hospital last week and will have to undergo surgery for the second time this month, the band revealed on their website on Friday.

Torres had an emergency appendectomy earlier this month and last week he was rushed to the hospital after experiencing severe pain in his abdomen and the band reports that he will have to have gall bladder surgery.

Frontman Jon Bon Jovi says, "Tico Torres has been the heart and soul of our band since we started 30 years ago," he said. "He's also one tough SOB and we look forward to him again pounding away brilliantly at the drums on remainder of this and future tours."

Torres issued the following message for fans, "I would like to say a quick Thank You to all of you who have kept me in your thoughts thus far. There is nothing that can prepare one for a medical emergency but I have been taken especially good care of and would again like to thank all my doctors and health care professionals.

"I am very disappointed not to be able to perform but our friend Rich Scannella will stand in for me. You are in good hands.

Zakk Wylde Definitely Interested in Playing Pantera Reunion
(TeamRock Radio) Black Label Society mainman Zakk Wylde says he'd be happy to take the place of the late Dimebag in a Pantera reunion saying it "would be a beautiful way to honor him".

The long-discussed possibility of Phil Anselmo and Vinnie Paul settling their differences in the name of their murdered bandmate took a step forward when the vocalist admitted he'd also like it to happen – because it would be good for them all.

"Vinnie, Phil and Rex are the guys that make everything happen," Wylde says. "If they were all going to do it and honour Dimebag, and they said, 'Zakk, would you want to do Dime's parts?' Of course!

"I was a pallbearer for him. I laid him to rest. It would be a beautiful way to honour him, and to celebrate all things Pantera." - More including the video interview.

Jimi Hendrix Was Thinking Ahead in His Last Interview
(Classic Rock) Jimi Hendrix was planning to put two bands together just before his death, but he wanted a little time to think things through before he embarked upon the next stage of his career.

He talked about his aims for the future in an interview recorded by press agent Keith Altham a week before he passed away on September 18, 197 – and broadcast in full for the first time on TeamRock Radio's Classic Rock Magazine Show last week.

Hendrix discussed the aftermath of bassist Billy Cox leaving his lineup, saying: "I think I'll get a small one together. It's really hard to decide. I'd like to have both, if I could. I'd get two guitarists – one being myself – an organist, a singer, drums and bass. That would be out of sight."

He admitted he wanted to appear live less often because "it would count for more if we did less." But asked if the excitement had gone out of music for him, Hendrix said: "No. I was feeling like that before, because I was thinking too fast. It's hard to know what people want sometimes – right now I can't feel anything. I just need to lay back and think about it all."

The guitar icon said he'd realised there was no point in paying attention to the hype surrounding his career, but that he didn't want people separating his live performance from his writing. "I'd hate to be in one corner, put only as a guitar player, only as a songwriter, only as a tap-dancer or something like that," he reflected. "I like to move around." - A lot more.

Funeral For A Friend Reveals Expanded Debut Reissue Details
(TeamRock Radio) Funeral For A Friend have announced the details of an extended edition of debut EP Between Order And Model, due for release in the UK on November 18th.

The re-release and concert sets are part of the band's deliberate return to their roots. They say: "In 2001 we had enough of other people's expectations and the resulting pressure. We took a step back and made a deliberate decision to play intimate club shows, and allow our music to be rough round the edges again."

The 11-track version of Between Order And Model comes with a booklet featuring liner notes by vocalist Matt Davies, Josh Latshaw of Boysetsfire and Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon. The standard CD digipak is accompanied by 1000 numbered coloured vinyl copies. - More details including a video

Mainman Rich Harding says: "Extend & Embrace is the odd one out that hasn't seen the light of day in one form or another. We made a conscious decision to do things this way because we all agree that the tracks that came out best on our last album, Think Of The Children!, are the ones that were honed in the live environment."

Also Eden – who recruited new bassist Graham Lane in January and keyboardist Howard 'H' Sinclair in April – will celebrate the launch of their fifth album at a series of live appearances.

Lucy Zirins Dropped Olympic Dream and Switched To Music After Injury
(The Blues) Award-winning young musician Lucy Zirins has reflected that she might never have decided to pursue her artistic ambitions if she hadn't sustained a leg injury. Before damaging her knee, the 21-year-old was more interested in becoming a full-time swimmer.

Zirins, who's previously been featured in The Blues Magazine, was named Best Young Artist at this year's British Blues Awards. She was also nominated for Album Of The Year and Female Vocalist Of The Year with her debut release Chasing Clocks.

She tells the Lancashire Telegraph: "I always wanted to compete in the Olympics. I was a member of a swimming club and I went to a few national squads – but then I got injured."

Story of B.B. King's Stolen 'Lucille' Revealed In New Book
(Gibson) The story of how a Gibson B.B. King Lucille found its way back to the blues legend is in a new book. The tale is in B.B. King's Lucille and the Loves Before Her.

In 2009, Eric Dahl found an electric guitar in a Las Vegas pawnshop that had been stolen from King. Dahl didn't know that at the time, so he simply bought the Lucille. The Southeast Missourian reports Dahl saying it was "the discovery of a lifetime."

"I've played guitar since I was 5, and have collected guitars since high school," Dahl said. "I started going to pawn shops in Cape to look at guitars, and I continued that when I moved to Las Vegas. I got in good with some of the owners, and I told them to let me know if something interesting ever came in."

Contacted about the Lucille, Dahl bought it… and later found a small stamp on the back of the guitar reading: Prototype 1. Dahl contacted Gibson who confirmed Gibson the company had presented the Prototype 1 model to B.B as an 80th birthday present in 2005, and it had been used as his main guitar during performances. But it was then stolen in the summer of 2009.

"That started my research," Dahl says. "I learned from sources in the guitar world that Gibson made 80 anniversary Lucilles, but there were also two prototype models made. Then I contacted a Gibson representative who told me that the Prototype 1 electric guitar had been stolen from Mr. King in the summer of 2009."

Dahl got to meet B.B. to hand the guitar back, and it inspired him to write his book, B.B. King's Lucille And The Loves Before Her. "Nobody else had done a book about Mr. King's music gear," he said. "The book was three years of research. It wasn't easy, but I'm glad I finished it." - more on this story

Rush To Take Extended Break
(hennemusic) Rush frontman Geddy Lee tells Rolling Stone that the band has no plans to regroup for a while following the recent completion of their "Clockwork Angels" world tour.

Their manager wants them to launch a tour next year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of drummer Neil Peart joining the group. "That's not going to happen though," says Lee. "My attitude is that as much as I'd like to celebrate 40 years, we need a break more than we need a 40th anniversary celebration. There's nothing wrong with celebrating 42 years."

Asked if the band may not resurface until 2015, Geddy says "I think so. Something like that. . . The plan now is to have no plans. We have had a great 10 years of tour, album, tour album.

"I can honestly say that the three of us enjoyed this tour more than any one we've ever done. We left on a high note, but we recognize that we need to pay attention to our families and recharge our batteries. Bumblefoot Threw Fits Over Guns N' Roses Lateness
(Classic Rock) Guns N' Roses guitarist Bumblefoot used to find himself reduced to throwing fits of frustration at the band's poor timekeeping. Axl Rose and co went through a period of keeping crowds waiting for several hours, sometimes taking to the stage after they'd been due to finish.

The behavior split fans – some were upset over ruined schedules while others believed it was just another aspect of rock'n'roll. Bumblefoot can see both perspectives, but says he's just glad it's all in the past.

He tells Totally Driven: "That hasn't happened for a long time. but it did for a long time. I absolutely had the hardest time out of anybody in the band with that stuff.

"There's been times when I walked off stage and just started throwing a fit on the side," he said. "I'm always in touch with one very simple thing: you make music to make people happy. Anything that takes away from that or undoes that or creates the opposite of that is completely just anti why you're doing what you're doing." - more on this story

(Classic Rock) Dream Theater have released a video for their track The Enemy Inside. It's taken from their twelfth studio album, their first self-titled release, which is out today via Roadrunner Records.

Mangini appeared on 2011′s A Dramatic Turn Of Events but hadn't taken part in writing the music. "Mike played drums on three of my solo albums," LaBrie tells Ghost Cult. "I knew he was the man.

"When you're out on the road that's when the true colours of someone really start to show. Not only that, you get much more in tune with the musician and you understand how he works. By the time we went in to thinking about this album he was fully on-board. We knew that it was just going to be a phenomenal ride with him – which it was.

"That wouldn't have happened if he hadn't done fifteen months out on the road with us, so that was a crucial step." - Check out the video here.

As singer Vince Neil told the Las Vegas Sun's Robin Leach, "It's more than any rock group has ever produced or attempted. It really is entering the depths of hell. There's fire all around and fire coming down from above. There's no question this is the most dangerous theatrics ever created and far more than anything we expected. But, hey, this is Vegas, and we do bigger, bolder, badder, sleazier here better than any other place on Earth." - more on this story
