Perfect Time For Velvet Revolver Reunion Says Scott Weiland
Scott Weiland wasn't shy about his feeling about reuniting with Velvet Revolver in a new interview. In fact, he was very enthusiastic about the prospect and makes it sound like it is on the horizon.
Rolling Stone caught up with Weiland to discuss his busy plans for 2013 and when the topic turned to the possibility of his reuniting with Velvet Revolver, he had this to say, "I am completely open to it, and I know there are other guys in the band that are completely open to it. There have been some things that have stood in the way that aren't anything that have to do with the band – just other players, whether it be agents . . . But now we're sorting through things, and we want to start writing for some big film opportunities that have come our way, and try to set things up the way we set things up when we initially got together."
"I think it's the perfect time for Velvet Revolver to get back together," Weiland said. "Slash has done some great things, and I look forward to the opportunity to seeing him on my left and seeing Duff McKagan – who, in my opinion, is without a doubt one of the greatest rock'n' roll and punk rock bass players of all time. "And is still in amazing shape – is more ripped than just about any 25-year-old on the planet. And with Matt [Sorum] and Dave [Kushner] as well, who are just incredible musicians. I think that's exciting to look forward to. It's the old cliché, 'If the gods of rock want it to happen, then it will.'" Read the Rolling Stone report for more details.
Led Zeppelin May Have Continued Without Robert Plant
Jimmy Page confirms in a new interview that Led Zeppelin did want to carry on following the 2007 reunion show captured on their new DVD, and when Robert Plant was too busy, the other three members looked at other singers.
Jimmy Page tells Rolling Stone in their current issue that he, John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham continued rehearsing together in early 2008 after Robert Plant turns his focus to his other projects. "We didn't do any professional recording," says Page. "We just had a little digital recorder. I thought it was good. I wasn't going to walk away from it. But the weakness came up again. It was, 'We gotta have a singer.'"
Page didn't list the singers they tried out in the interview but it's been reported that the list included Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler. The report on the magazine's website about the interview says that Page didn't deny rehearsing with Kennedy and followed with this quote, "It sounded premature," he says. "I could see what way it was going. Various people thought we should go on tour. I thought we needed a good, credible album, not do something that sounded like we were trying to milk the O2." Jon Bon Jovi Speaks About Daughter's Overdose
Jon Bon Jovi spoke with a TV news reporter about his daughter's heroin overdose and drug arrest earlier this month.
Fox TV's Los Angeles affiliate's entertainment reporter Courtney Friel asked Bon Jovi about the incident and he responded: "What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous but if you don't take it too seriously it's a great way to make a living," he said. "And then life goes on. Things happen."
He added, "This tragedy was something that I had to face too so we'll get through it. And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good"
TMZ reported that Bon Jovi's 19-year-old daughter Stephanie Rose Bongiovi was arrested at her college in Upstate New York on November 14th after allegedly overdosing on heroin. The next day, Oneida County District Attorney's Office told TMZ that they were dismissing all criminal charges about Bongiovi. You can watch the video of Jon's interview here.

Turisas Change Lineup, Recording New Album and Plan Tour
Turisas have announced a lineup change, plus plans to begin recording a new album and they will be hitting the road early next year for the Guards of Glory North American Tour with Firewind, Stolen Babies.
The band is currently recording drums at Atomic Spa studio in Helsinki, Finland, and they will continue the recordings in different locations until the end of January for the band's 4th studio album which is scheduled for a worldwide release in May 2013 via Century Media Records.
Turisas has also announced a few line-up changes in conjunction with the band entering the studio. After spending 15 years with Turisas behind the kit, original member, Tuomas "Tude" Lehtonen, has decided to part ways with the band. Lehtonen explains the reasons behind his decision: "I can't tell you how hard it feels to step away from the path we've been walking together for the last 15 years - and to start a new era in my life without the band. There are many reasons for me to quit the band. The stress from the years spent on the road and different artistic visions have lead to a mutual decision for me to step back and hand over the drumsticks to the next guy. In any case, it has been a great experience and all the memories from being on the road are something that I will always cherish. The biggest thanks go to all of the past and present members of the band, not to forget all the technicians and fellow drummers I've met on shows and on tour - and, of course, especially to all the fans that have allowed us to grow to the level that Turisas are at today. Good luck and lots of success to all my bandmates - I feel that I will never be straying too far away from the band. I shall always be proudly carrying the heart of Turisas wherever I go. The man can leave the band but the band will never really leave the man. Battle Metal!" more on this story

Nile Release Enduring the Eternal Molestation of Flame Video
Nile have released a music video for their song "Enduring the Eternal Molestation of Flame" online.
The video was produced and directed by Jon Simvonis for Magnum Production Studios Co. and Arctos Broadcast Facilities. It also features the African Heritage group and photography by Philippos Kokkalis.
"It was truly an honor to direct the new Nile video; a band with so many diehard fans and such a strong impact in the metal scene," commented Simvonis. "The video concept, as a matter of fact, was inspired by the culture and the ritual habits of the Ancient Nubia, a region along the Nile River, which is located in northern Sudan and Southern Egypt. The research and design elements of the video led to a really interesting combination of the Ancient Egyptian myths, through the prism of the Nubian African Voodoo Burial rituals. Two worlds set so close, yet so far from each other." Watch it here.
