Ozzy Hopes Not To Disappoint Black Sabbath Fans
(hennemusic) Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne spoke with a newspaper about the band's reunion album and how things are now different with the group.
"What's different now is that none of us get drunk or stoned or any of that stuff," Ozzy told The New Zealand Herald . "We're all clean, and all in control of ourselves, we're not intimidated by each other, there are no arguments, and it's the way it should be. But when we were kids we had egos. When you're 21 and you get some success it takes a while to get your head around. You have an ego, you have the spoils of success, the cars, the houses, the money, the alcohol, the drugs, the groupies, and all the rest of it, and if you go through all of that and you are lucky enough to survive you get married, you get divorced, you get married again, and it's a journey."
"But we've done it all so what it boils down to now is the music," explains Osbourne, "and that's what got us where we are in the first place. We have come through the other side, we're still able to work together, and that's where the enjoyment comes from. It's been a lot of fun making this record."
"It's been more than 30 years since I really seriously worked with the guys," adds Ozzy. "We had a try a few years back but nothing came of it. But for some reason the timing is right and we've done about 15 songs. Black Sabbath is very unique in the respect that nothing is formulated. It's very unpredictable. I just hope the people who have waited all these years aren't disappointed." more on this story

Candice Night Releases Solo Album
Blackmore's Night frontwoman Candice Night has released her debut solo album, Reflections.
"I am always getting new ideas," says Candice Night. "When I had my two babies, I thought it would be difficult finding the time, but my children are so inspirational to me that the lyrics and music continuously flow. I am constantly inspired by nature, the magic and beauty of things that are around us all the time but many don't even see."
The idea of making a solo album was first encouraged by her husband, Blackmore's Night co-founder Ritchie Blackmore. "I had so many lyrics, so many ideas backing up," Night recently told Newsday, "and I came to Ritchie and said, 'I need more music. Give me more music. I want to put these to songs.' And he just looked me and said, 'Come up with the music yourself because I'm kind of busy with what I'm doing.' And I had never thought of that before. I thought, 'Maybe I should do that.'" more on this story

"With Existent, we had a completely new approach to recording and writing," says Starcher. "We were writing and demoing stuff out for a year and a half, instead of usually just writing and just recording how we play them. I really love listening to records front to back and going through the experience of a whole record, and that was how i wanted to make this album. I wanted to make it an experience from front to back, a collective piece of art and not just 10 songs. We are very proud of how hard we worked and how much we put in."

Singled Out: John Lawton (Uriah Heep)
Today legendary Uriah Heep vocalist John Lawton tells us about the song "The Search" from the brand new John Lawton & Diana Express album "The Power Of Mind". Here is the story:
To pick a particular song from this album is difficult as they are all good in their own right...
It came down to 2 if I had to pick any from the 2 I have gone for "The Search". This track stood out for me the very first time I heard the album. I was given a copy of the album Power Of Mind sung in Bulgarian, which was where the original songs were recorded. I think it's the intro on acoustic and the change over to strings and piano...very simple but relaxing. But then into the mix is added the female vocal line very ethereal and hypnotic...And once more back to the acoustic augmented with the rest of the band...truly a great song to sing. But so are they all...
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!

In the 8th and final episode in the series, Tyler, Perry and bassist Tom Hamilton talk about the project.
"There's two things that can happen to a band," explains Tyler. "They can either move on musically where you don't even know who the guy was on the first record, or you have a band that is so happy about sounding the way they sound that they don't have this need to change too much. I have a need to change but I do it with the melodies and I do it with songs but, as you hear, it's the same guy singing." more on this story
The Drums Frontman Jonny Pierce Releases New Video
The Drums frontman Jonny Pierce has released a video for the track, "I Didn't Realise," from his forthcoming debut solo album.
Written, recorded and produced entirely by Pierce himself, the album will see the light of day in 2013.
He had this to say about the project, "Some might say it's strange for a man to bare his soul the way I do on this album but I wanted to do something that exposed me for who I am even more so than anything I have done with The Drums ... I wanted to be as self-indulgent as possible with this album. This is pop done the way I think it should be done." Watch the video here.
Kongh Streaming Title Track of Forthcoming Album
Kongh are streaming the first 7 minutes of the title track their forthcoming album "Sole Creation."
"Sole Creation" will be released on February 5th in Europe and February 19th in North Amercia and will consist of 4 new tracks and 45 minutes of music, with a guest appearance of John Doe from Craft. The album was recorded at Teknikkompaniet (Vetlanda, Sweden) by Peter Lundin; mixed and mastered by Magnus Lindberg of Cult Of Luna fame. KONGH's front-man, David Johansson, commented:
"After a very long time of hard work, this album is finally ready for release. We couldn't be more happy with the way it turned out and I really think it is the best Kongh material so far. For our old fans, I am pretty sure it will be well worth the wait and I also think it holds great potential to satisfy a bunch of new listeners. In my opinion, the album is more dynamic and has much more emphasis on melodies than our previous works. At the same time it maintains the harshness and it's undoubtedly the heaviest slab of metal we've done as well." Stream the new song here.
Evocation Release Divide And Conquer Video
Evocation have released a new music video for their song "Divide And Conquer," which comes from their fourth studio album, Illusions Of Grandeur.
